This vet is awesome! I love my dog, but he can be a handful. However, TNC works with him to make it the best experience possible, every time. From separation anxiety when I first adopted him, to wellness care, a chronic health issue and many boarding visits over the years, TNC has been there for both of us every step of the way. For a dog that hates to be away from his family, this picture during his most recent boarding visit speaks volumes! I highly recommend them for all of your pet's needs.

Located at **204 S Gurney St, Burlington, NC 27215, USA**, this clinic has garnered a reputation for its exceptional handling of pets, particularly those with anxiety or complex medical needs, and its dedication to partnering with pet owners for optimal animal health outcomes. They provide a wide array of services designed to meet the diverse needs of various pets, from routine wellness to specialized care for chronic conditions and even exotic animals.

Environment and Approach to Care

The environment at Town N Country Animal Hospital is clearly designed with pet comfort and stress reduction in mind, which is a significant feature highlighted by clients. One owner of an anxious dog praised how the clinic "works with him to make it the best experience possible, every time." This proactive approach to managing pet anxiety is crucial, especially for dogs who are prone to stress during vet visits or when separated from their families. The provision of **treats available all over the place** and the offering of "little peanut butter ramekin serving cups" for dogs, even during stressful situations, underscore their commitment to creating a positive association with the clinic. This demonstrates a deep understanding of animal behavior and a dedication to a "stress-free route" for their patients. The welcoming and accommodating atmosphere extends to pet owners, who consistently feel "heard" and supported by the medical staff, especially Dr. Joy, who is singled out for her attentive and professional care. The clinic’s ability to handle potentially "STRESSSFULL situations" with a calming demeanor speaks volumes about their expertise and compassionate approach.

Comprehensive Services Offered

Town N Country Animal Hospital provides an extensive range of veterinary services, catering to a broad spectrum of animal needs and species. Their offerings include, but are not limited to:

  • **Wellness and Preventive Care:** This forms the cornerstone of their practice, encompassing routine check-ups, tailored vaccination protocols, effective parasite prevention, and microchipping services. They emphasize proactive health management to ensure pets live long, healthy lives.
  • **Diagnosis and Treatment of Illnesses:** The hospital is equipped to diagnose and manage a wide variety of medical conditions, from common ailments to more complex chronic health issues. As one client noted, they were able to provide "wonderful care" for a German Shepherd suffering from an auto-immune condition, a situation where other vets had been "alarmingly nonchalant." This highlights their thoroughness and commitment to addressing urgent and complex medical needs.
  • **Surgical Services:** While specific types of surgeries are not detailed, a full-service animal hospital typically offers routine surgical procedures such as spaying and neutering, as well as more involved soft tissue surgeries.
  • **Dental Care:** Proper dental hygiene is crucial for overall pet health, and it's implied they provide comprehensive dental services to prevent and treat oral diseases.
  • **Boarding Services:** A significant feature mentioned by a client is their boarding facility. The ability for an anxious dog to feel comfortable enough during boarding to be photographed "speaks volumes," indicating a truly caring and attentive environment for pets staying overnight or for extended periods. This service is invaluable for pet owners needing reliable care while away.
  • **Emergency and Urgent Care:** The reviews confirm their responsiveness to "urgent and everyday needs and concerns," suggesting they are prepared to handle emergent situations and provide timely care when pets are unexpectedly ill or injured.
  • **Exotic Animal Care:** Uniquely, Town N Country Animal Hospital extends its expertise to exotic animals, a feature that particularly delighted one client who has ferrets. This specialized service fills a crucial gap for owners of non-traditional pets who often struggle to find qualified veterinary care.

The consistent positive experiences reported by owners of high-energy or anxiety-prone dogs demonstrate their effective handling techniques and patience. This commitment to a positive experience, even for pets who "hate to be away from his family," builds immense trust with pet owners.

Another key feature is their **profound attentiveness and clear communication**. Clients praise the medical staff, including Dr. Joy, for not hesitating to answer questions "professionally" and ensuring owners "felt heard." This open dialogue is crucial for informed decision-making regarding a pet's health, particularly when dealing with serious or chronic conditions. The contrast with other vets who were "nonchalant" underscores the exceptional level of care and engagement provided by Town N Country Animal Hospital.

The hospital's **broad scope of care, including exotic animals**, sets them apart. This makes them a one-stop solution for households with diverse animal companions, simplifying veterinary care logistics for multi-pet families. The longevity of their relationships with clients, as evidenced by a dog who has received "wellness care, a chronic health issue and many boarding visits over the years," speaks to the enduring trust and satisfaction they cultivate.

Promotional Information and Client Recommendations

While direct promotional material is not provided, the testimonials from satisfied clients serve as powerful recommendations. The consistent theme of "highly recommend them for all of your pet's needs" and "Definitely recommend :)" indicates strong client loyalty and advocacy. The objective advice from one reviewer to "do your own research on organization and medical websites before taking them to a vet anyway" and "don’t be afraid to ask questions" subtly underscores that Town N Country Animal Hospital aligns with these principles, as they are praised for their transparency and willingness to engage with owner inquiries.

The positive experiences, particularly concerning the handling of challenging pets and serious medical conditions, are compelling reasons for potential clients to choose this hospital. This is the first veterinary clinic that I’ve found in a while that we like. We have two German shepherds and a pit mix. We’ve moved around a fair share. One of our German shepherds is suffering with an auto-immune. Other vets were surprisingly/alarmingly nonchalant about his situation and the urgency of care. Dr. Joy has been able to take wonderful care of us. 😊 We have spoken to other med staff there as well over the phone and in person and they don’t hesitate to answer my questions, especially professionally. we felt heard👍 They also have treats available all over the place and gave our babies little peanut butter ramekin serving cups (dog needs to go for further examination like ours) they have their ways of doing the stress-free route even when your dog is dealing with a STRESSSFULL situation. they will very happy. 👌 Thank you vet med staff & Dr. Joy for taking care of our urgent and everyday needs and concerns.❤️ & unwarranted advice to other pet owners who are looking for vet care- do your own research on organization and medical websites before taking them to a vet anyway. & don’t be afraid to ask questions. Just to know more about your animal and what they need. I found that part of myself ignoring their needs for a while and started paying more attention to their habits and behaviors, even diet and it’s been helping significantly with relationships with them (my pets/family) and honestly overall mood. 🫶👍 (& we have ferrets & I was ecstatic to hear this Veterinary clinic takes care of exotic animals too👍)

I brought my rescue shepherd pup Grace in for leg surgery and they are so nice and took such good care of my baby, she will go to Town N Country from now on. I also work with a few people who take their pets there and recommend them.

The two women at the front desk were very unprofessional. They trash talked an older female client while I was waiting in the lobby. Then proceeded to trash talk a COWORKER.. then finally when the tech brought my cat back out to me she proceeds to tell me that my cat needs to lose weight. She had ZERO knowledge of my cats breed, nor his weight problem nor do I believe she was qualified to give this unsolicited advice ESPECIALLY in front of other in a lobby. THEN I get home to realize that she hardly even clipped my cat (he went in for a potty patch hygiene trim) . He still has SO MUCH hair left in the back.. will NOT be returning to the forestdale location

I took my two cats here and was billed $500 with no answer to why my cats were sick. I was appalled when I heard my sweet cat screeching and yowling during the appointment when she has always been very good at the vet. I am sorry to say that I doubt whether the people here truly care about their patients.
