Welcome to Top Dog Bracing
For pet owners in Knoxville, Tennessee, whose furry companions face mobility challenges or orthopedic issues, Top Dog Bracing offers a highly specialized and compassionate solution within the "Pet Hospital" category, though its focus is distinct. Located at 11225 Threadstone Ln, Knoxville, TN 37932, USA, and reachable via phone at (865) 219-3280 or mobile at +1 865-219-3280, Top Dog Bracing specializes in providing custom orthotics and prosthetics for animals, often serving as a non-surgical alternative or a crucial aid in post-operative recovery.
The environment at Top Dog Bracing, while not a traditional full-service veterinary clinic with examination rooms for general practice, is specifically tailored to the unique needs of pets requiring custom bracing solutions. This would imply a dedicated space for consultations, measurements, fittings, and adjustments of orthopedic devices. The clinic would need to be accessible for pets with mobility issues, potentially featuring ramps or easily navigable spaces. The focus on custom solutions suggests a collaborative and hands-on environment where the specialist works closely with pet owners to ensure the perfect fit and function of the brace. While details about the waiting area or overall aesthetic are not widely published, the nature of their service demands a calm and supportive atmosphere where animals feel comfortable during their fittings. The address on Threadstone Lane positions it within the Knoxville area, making it a convenient destination for pet owners seeking specialized orthopedic support.
The services provided by Top Dog Bracing are highly specialized, focusing entirely on custom orthotic and prosthetic solutions for pets. Their core offering is the creation of tailor-made braces and prosthetic limbs designed to support injured or weakened joints, provide stability, or replace missing limbs. This service is presented as a viable and effective alternative to surgery, especially in cases where a pet may be unable to undergo surgery due to advanced age, pre-existing medical conditions, or for financial reasons. They also cater to pet owners who prefer to explore conservative treatment options before resorting to invasive procedures. Specifically, the clinic is known for addressing conditions like cranial cruciate ligament (CCL) tears, a common knee injury in dogs, where their custom leg braces provide essential support for healing and recovery. Beyond CCL tears, they also offer elbow braces to aid in the healing of elbow joint injuries, elbow dysplasia, or to provide relief from degenerative joint diseases like osteoarthritis. These custom braces are designed to control a pet's range of motion, allowing the affected area to heal naturally or providing pain relief. The process typically involves initial consultations, precise measurements of the pet's limb, the fabrication of a custom device, and subsequent fitting and adjustments to ensure optimal comfort and effectiveness. Their braces are made from semi-rigid thermoplastic, a durable material that allows pets to maintain an active lifestyle, even during rehabilitation, and can be worn in both dry and wet environments, making them suitable for hydrotherapy. The inclusion of removable interfaces (padding) further enhances comfort and allows for easy cleaning. Top Dog Bracing's services are often integrated with rehabilitation programs, emphasizing a holistic approach to a pet's recovery and mobility improvement.
The standout features of Top Dog Bracing are profoundly highlighted by customer testimonials, emphasizing the expertise, compassion, and personalized approach of the specialist. A key feature is the individual behind the service: Abby Chandler, the owner of Top Dog Bracing. She is a Certified and Licensed Prosthetist and Orthotist with 17 years of experience in human orthotics and prosthetics, bringing a wealth of knowledge and precision to animal care. Her background, including a Biomedical Engineering Design Project with the University of Tennessee Veterinary Hospital, specifically on redesigning prostheses for a dog, underscores her deep understanding and passion for the field. Customers consistently praise her approach: "She is wonderful. Very good kind, and understanding. Very gentle with my older husky. Did a wonderful job on his brace. She will answer any questions you have." This speaks to her empathetic and patient demeanor, which is crucial when working with animals, particularly older or anxious ones, and their concerned owners. The emphasis on "custom brace that was made just for him" is a defining feature, distinguishing Top Dog Bracing from generic, off-the-shelf solutions. This personalized approach ensures the brace provides the exact support needed, minimizing discomfort and maximizing therapeutic benefit, a common issue with non-custom options as highlighted by one customer's experience. Dr. Amanda Pittman, a veterinarian specializing in animal rehabilitation, exclusively refers her patients to Top Dog Bracing, citing the team's "genuine interest in helping animals and their people," their availability throughout the process, and the high quality and comfort of their orthotics. This professional endorsement further solidifies the clinic's reputation for excellence and effective results. The ability to offer a successful alternative to surgery due to age, medical complications, or financial constraints is a significant feature that provides hope and solutions for many pet owners.
When it comes to promotional information, Top Dog Bracing would likely focus on its specialized niche and the significant benefits it offers. Key promotional messages would center on "custom bracing as a successful alternative for pet owners and veterinarians when surgery is not an option." They would highlight the expertise of Abby Chandler, emphasizing her extensive experience in both human and animal orthotics and prosthetics. Testimonials from satisfied customers, like the owners of the older husky and Leo the shih tzu, showcasing successful outcomes and compassionate care, would be powerful marketing tools. The clinic's ability to provide high-quality, comfortable, and effective custom braces that allow pets to regain mobility and improve their quality of life would be a core message. Promotional materials would also address common reasons why pet owners seek alternatives to surgery, such as age, financial considerations, or a desire for conservative treatment. Information about how their braces can be worn during physical therapy, including underwater, would appeal to pet rehabilitation centers and owners committed to a comprehensive recovery plan. Online presence, including a professional website detailing their services, showcasing before-and-after photos, and providing educational content on pet orthopedic conditions and the benefits of bracing, would be vital. Collaborations with local veterinarians and rehabilitation centers, like the one with Dr. Amanda Pittman, would be a strong referral-based promotional strategy. Emphasizing the personalized care and the feeling of making a "positive impact in each pet's life," as described by Abby Chandler, would resonate deeply with pet owners seeking the best for their animal companions. The clinic's contact information, (865) 219-3280 and +1 865-219-3280, and address at 11225 Threadstone Ln, Knoxville, TN 37932, would be readily available across all promotional channels to facilitate easy access for interested clients.

May 21, 2025 · linley whiteBeing a dog owner for the first time, when our shih Tzu tore his CCL we felt strongly pulled in the direction of surgery that was going to cost us thousands of dollars. After much investigation we recognized that there were other options that would help our dog heal and fully recover. The first step was getting a leg brace for this little guy. We purchased several leg braces that seemed like a good choice, but after trying a few that we found online, we realized that they did not provide the support that our dog Leo needed. We were so thrilled to find Top Dog Bracing. Abby was amazing to work with, and we are very happy that Leo’s leg has the correct support from a custom brace that was made just for him.
Aug 18, 2023 · Bonnie SchererRather than enduring a surgical procedure, I opted for my dog to be fitted for a brace at Top Dog Bracing. What a neat experience! Abby is a true professional & helped me to understand everything about the brace and how it will help my pooch heal. Blaze is doing exceptionally well with her pink cast. I highly recommend this business and fully believe that this is the BEST alternative to surgery.
Feb 16, 2023 · Kim IsenbergWe chose bracing over surgery for our pup's CCL injury, and it was a complete success! Abby Chandler was patient and fun to work with. She made both Tuffy and me comfortable in the office and was great on follow-through questions and in person adjustments. Our vet recommended Top Dog Bracing and so do we. Nancy Hovanic and Tuffy.
Apr 23, 2024 · Lola HovanicI can wholeheartedly recommend Top Dog Bracing. My dog tore her CCL in both knees and was not a candidate for surgery due to other health issues and age. We pursued alternative therapies like acupuncture and laser therapy which helped, but our girl was still struggling. The rehab vet recommended getting a brace from Top Dog Bracing and we cannot be more pleased with the product and service we've received. The brace has allowed her to regain strength in her hind legs, walk with more stability, and have overall less pain. To me, that is priceless. Abby and Richie are fantastic. They truly care about your pet's comfort and progress. They are always happy to answer any questions you may have, and will make adjustments to the brace if needed. My dog developed some skin issues (NOT from the brace, but due to a medical condition) and they worked to find a solution that would allow her to continue wearing her brace. Excellent service and product, highly recommended.
