Welcome to TNT Equine

TNT Equine, located at 143 Randall Rd, North Berwick, ME 03906, USA, and accessible via phone at (207) 957-4000, is a highly respected and comprehensive "Pet Hospital" uniquely dedicated to equine veterinary care. Serving Southern Maine, the New Hampshire Seacoast, and the Eastern Lakes Region, with select services extending to Massachusetts, TNT Equine stands as a leader in horse health, offering both ambulatory (mobile) and in-clinic services. Their commitment to putting "horses first" is evident in their advanced medical approaches, experienced team, and client-centered philosophy.

The environment at TNT Equine is designed to be both functional and welcoming for horses and their owners. Reviews mention a "beautiful property," highlighting its aesthetic appeal, and "superb lines" on the lawn, suggesting a well-maintained and professional exterior. The facility in North Berwick has been expanded, indicating a commitment to providing state-of-the-art care. While their primary focus is often on bringing veterinary services to the horse's barn door through their ambulatory practice, the existence of an expanded facility suggests that they are equipped to handle cases requiring in-clinic care, such as surgical dental cases and select critical care cases. The overall atmosphere created by the "friendly Owner and Staff" contributes significantly to a positive experience for horse owners, fostering trust and ease during what can often be stressful times for their animals.

TNT Equine offers an extensive range of services, positioning itself as a full-service equine veterinary practice. Their comprehensive offerings ensure that horses receive continuous, high-quality care throughout their lives. Key services include:

  • 24-Hour Emergency Care: Recognizing that equine emergencies can occur at any time, TNT Equine provides round-the-clock emergency services, offering critical support when horses need it most. This ensures prompt and specialized attention for acute injuries or illnesses.
  • Preventative Medicine: This is a cornerstone of their practice, focusing on maintaining the long-term health and well-being of horses. Services typically include routine wellness exams, vaccinations tailored to regional risks and individual horse needs, deworming programs, and nutritional counseling.
  • Reproduction Services: TNT Equine is highly regarded for its expertise in equine reproduction. This includes services for both stallions and mares, such as breeding soundness exams, artificial insemination (using fresh, chilled, or frozen semen), mare reproductive management, and foaling assistance. Dr. Erickson herself is noted as establishing herself as the area's leading reproduction veterinarian.
  • Internal Medicine: They diagnose and manage a wide array of internal medical conditions affecting various body systems, including respiratory, gastrointestinal, neurological, and endocrine issues.
  • Sports Medicine and Lameness Diagnostics: For athletic horses, TNT Equine provides specialized care including lameness evaluations, diagnostic imaging (such as digital radiography and ultrasonography), and therapeutic interventions to help performance horses recover from injuries and maintain peak performance. They offer cutting-edge technology and diagnostics that can be performed by Board Certified veterinarians right where the horse is most comfortable.
  • Routine and Surgical Dentistry: Recognizing the critical importance of oral health in horses, they provide comprehensive dental care, from routine dental floats (rasping) to complex surgical extractions. Dr. Erickson is known for her expertise in power-assisted dentistry.
  • Advanced Diagnostics: The practice utilizes cutting-edge technology for diagnostics, which can often be performed on-site at the horse's location, enhancing convenience and reducing stress.

The features that distinguish TNT Equine are primarily rooted in its team and its commitment to advanced, compassionate care. Dr. Erikson (Deme M. Erickson, DVM) is consistently highlighted in reviews as a highly knowledgeable, empathetic, and honest veterinarian. She is the founder of TNT Equine and has built an exceptional reputation over three decades for patient care, power-assisted dentistry, and reproduction. The practice is known for its "team approach to whole horse wellness," ensuring that each horse, from newborn foals to seniors, and from pleasure horses to world champions, benefits from a comprehensive and collaborative strategy. The office staff are described as "personable and kind," contributing to a positive overall client experience. The ability to perform cutting-edge diagnostics with Board Certified veterinarians right at the horse's location is a significant convenience and benefit. The practice also notes their close association with New England Equine Medical & Surgical Center (NEEMSC), where Dr. Erickson is a co-owner/partner of the land and facility, housing TNT Equine there. This suggests access to advanced surgical and critical care facilities when needed, complementing their robust ambulatory services.

In terms of promotional information, TNT Equine maintains a professional online presence, including a full website (tntequine.com) and a mobile site (tntequine.com/mobile/). These platforms serve as primary sources of information regarding their services, mission, and team. They actively accept new patients within their service area in Eastern NH and Southern Maine, indicating a readiness to expand their client base while maintaining their high standards of care. They offer client convenience tools such as a "Health Portal Login" for existing clients and the ability to "Request an Appointment" online. Furthermore, TNT Equine engages in community education, as evidenced by their "Owner's Education Lecture Series," which promotes responsible horse ownership and client knowledge. They also operate an online pharmacy through Covetrus, providing clients with convenient access to medications, supplements, and barn supplies, often with free shipping on orders over $49 and potential discounts on auto-ship programs. This blend of accessible veterinary expertise, patient-centered care, and convenient online resources underscores their dedication to supporting the equine community.

I'm not sure what we'd do without Dr. Erikson and her staff! Office staff are personable and kind. Vets are knowledgeable, empathetic, and honest. Hands down the best equine vet practice I've had the pleasure of working with.

TNT has done amazing work with the horses in my program and they’re especially good at getting to the bottom of what’s going on with them! The transformations in the horses since switching to here is incredible. Thank you TNT!!
