Tigard Animal Hospital

After my local vet office completely changed hands, I found Dr. Schram had moved to this clinic. She had been my previous dog's vet, so I opted for a 10 mile drive, in what can be bad traffic to take my new dog to TAH. Dr. Schram had helped me with my previous dog, who went through some difficult health challenges at the end, and had met this new dog (Ely) only once, but hadn't seen his fear side. (He loves people and loves the techs and vets until a tool comes out - even something as innocuous as a stethoscope). It took three visits, the first where I hadn't "prepped" my dog, the second where I "prepped" him with some prescriptions to aid the fear response, and now just recently, additional prescriptions and mild sedation with me present. (I really appreciate the consideration of my presence to help calm the dog.) What I was really impressed with is having 3-4 techs and the Doctor, with my help, administer the sedative, and team up on all the work needed for the exam. It took a long time, but they didn't rush, nor show any impatience. They just did the work, and answered my questions (and put up with my humor at times). They also understand my slight embarrassment at having a bit of a problem dog, when all three of my previous dogs were nearly perfect patients... They know what they're doing.

We are long time patients of Lake Grove Pet Hospital so were disappointed to learn they were closing their doors and merging with Tigard Animal Hospital, which is considerably further away. But when our indoor cat injured his leg somehow the day before Thanksgiving, they were able to get him in on Friday morning, the same day I called. Dr. Olsen was kind and thorough and gave me the pros and cons of the various forms of assessment and treatment. We were in and out in short order. I guess we found our new vet!

Wow, I just love Tigard Animal Hospital! I’ve been going there for many years with several of my dogs. All of the staff is amazing! My dog is so comfortable being there. Everyone there is so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I recommend them to anyone with a pet!

I was a previous customer of Lake Grove. They now will not fax or call a refill in to your pharmacy and ask you to come pick up and shuttle a paper refill scrip to the pharmacy yourself. You pay $700 for an exam and they can't spend 30 seconds on the phone or have proper digital systems in place. I suspect this stems from them having their own pharmacy in-house but they do not have the more strictly controlled epilepsy drugs my dog requires. Find a vet that values their customers.
