The Village Vets Westside

My experience s with village vets has been amazing! Dr Jenkins did surgery on my puppy last week and she is doing great!!! They were able to find a spot and fit her in last minute! Everyone is amazing and kind

Started going to The Village Vet in 2021 after going to their urgent care facility in Decatur. The westside location is where we go for routine visits. Dr Jenkins either loves her job, animals, people or all the above. I have a 17 yr old dog and Dr Jenkins is all about helping live her very best geriatric life. I feel like other vets dismissed most of her issues once she turned 10, Dr Jenkins seems to understand that all animals deserve equitable care. Today we went in because this little bitty ripped out one of her stitches. I called to see if I should bother bringing her in at all because the wound was almost 2 weeks old and Dr J had us come, only to find it was infested and needed repair. She waived her fee for the new stitch which I thought was extremely kind. The entire staff is very warm and friendly, the facility is very clean and I have complete trust in the standard of care we get here.

I am happy to take my pet to Village vets. I have had my pug taken care of by them since 2012 and I’ve never been anywhere else. Dr. Prather, Dr. Matthews, and Dr. Jenkins have been amazing with the care and service and I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my pet’s health. Thank you for all that you do!

I am certainly missing Dr Amy Mathews. In my opinion there seems to be a lack of leadership since her departure. Everyone else there is kind and competent. But I definitely feel that I no longer have a vet that has the expertise and dedication that she did. Also the prices have gone up tremendously recently. They charged me sixty dollars for anal glands and nail clipping is $50! I am posting because Village Vets sent me the link and I want to be honest.

My pup injured her leg on a Friday night. Despite being fully booked, the Village Vets managed to squeeze us in at the last minute on Saturday morning. It saved us from having to go to the emergency vet, or waiting until Monday for an appointment! My dog wound up needing surgery, and the Village Vets recommended a great practice to treat my sweet little girl pittie. The Village Vets even called afterwards to see how my dog was doing post-surgery. So kind, caring and peofessional! I can't recommend the Dr. Matthews and the Village Vets team enough!
