The Village Vets Decatur-Ponce

I was very blown away by the amazing care that Dr. Javonne Bailey and the staff at Village Vets provided. I came with my 80lb dog and two little kids and they were so helpful and even assisted me to my car. Not only that but they were so kind and caring. My dog was at ease in the office and I truly felt like everyone cared about him. I would highly recommend Dr Bailey, she was knowledgeable and thorough in her examination and post exam care instructions to me.

The village vet of Decatur . Has the best staff. I have been taking my Tyler boy Maltese dog and my cats there for a few years now and I must say they have the most caring, personable, patient, friendly staff. Dr. Buck the veterinarian there is amazing. He is very attentive. He takes his time to listen to your needs Tyler enjoy seeing him. He's very informative regarding my senior dogs care. One cannot ask for a better veterinarian. We love you, Dr and your entire staff.

Dr Harris is exceptional!!! She takes the time to thoroughly explain treatment plans and diagnoses, and answers all my questions with patience and knowledge. She shares values of holistic practices and love for pets. The vet tech Austin H is also wonderful!! I feel heard by his care! Grateful for both of these 2!! 10 stars to these 2. The front desk employees are also great. I have had mediocre care on some occasions by some of the other vets on staff due to the time and attention they provide. They also take the dogs to the back to examine them which I wish wasn’t common practice. 4 star vet clinic if it weren’t for Dr. Harris and Austin.

Best vets! Dr. Burke and his assistant were so kind. They were gentle with our 7 month old Pekingese. Definitely recommend.

In one tech's own words, "we are not a small family-owned business" -- and you will inevitably experience that at The Village Vets. We've been going to TVV in Decatur since we adopted our dog in 2018. We used to see Dr. Draper who provided excellent care for our dog and spent quality time with us at each appointment. As they have grown, TVV's service has been dwindling and personalized care almost non-existent in our experience. For one, we rarely see the same vet. Two, their pricing is notably higher and was pitched to us that "it's because we don't charge extra for emergencies" -- but emergency visits have been next to impossible for us to get into. As such, we've gone to St. Francis instead (and they have been lovely) and consequently everyday veterinary care is - you guessed it - more expensive than other local clinics. All the markup with none of the benefits! Three, every single appointment seems to get more and more expensive, with "mandatory" procedures tacked on and absolutely no room for negotiation (i.e. opting out of X procedure), backing us, the client, into a very expensive corner in order to receive treatment. Are the facilities nice? Yes. Do they have fancy tech for appointment scheduling and accessing documents? Sure. But the sense of patient care has really suffered and we will be moving on from TVV.
