My 12 yr old Maggie developed an enlarged heart with fluids around her lungs. My dog was really sick, y'all. The entire staff are amazing and handled our visit with kindness. The Dr knew what was going on with my dog and prescribed her medications needed to help her get better. Three days later, I saw improvement, she lost a lot of her fluids that made her sick. I would like to stand up and applaud the Dr and his staff for saving my Maggie!! Thank you!

THIS IS LITERALLY THE BEST VET OUT THERE!! Last year my cat was dying, I could not figure out what was wrong with him and I had brought him to multiple vets, including an emergency vet where I paid $500 and got no answers. I ended up bringing him here because a friend recommended this place and they immediately knew what was wrong with my cat. Their vet was very well educated and they took the time to explain his diagnosis in detail and break it down to us the staff was extremely friendly and made us feel comfortable. I couldn’t afford to pay for a blood test for my initial visit, that’s when I found out they offer payment plans when the total is over certain amount. My cat was able to get correctly diagnosed and given the right treatment. This was the only vet I went to that. I actually felt like they cared about my cat, I know they care about him and they’ve always treated us so good I literally just can’t recommend this vet enough and I am forever grateful to them. The clinic is also very nice inside, it feels more intimate and less cold and unfriendly than other vets, they are also quick and don’t leave you waiting long. They also have a dog that hangs out there and he’s so freaking adorable if you’re thinking about going to this place I promise you won’t regret it. ❣️❣️

The first time I went to this clinic, Dr. Don was great. The 2nd time I went, which was on March 13, it was the worst experience I've ever had at a vet in 40 years. My terrier had a major back injury in 2023 that left her paralyzed for a month. After extensive rehab, she re-gained most of her mobility. On a recent long-distance trip, I left my terrier with a trusted friend for 3 days. Unfortunately she escaped and was missing for 20 hours. She was in bad shape when we found her. I made an appointment at this clinic for a check since she was roaming for 20 hours and also declining due to her back injury. The tech asked me a series of questions upon arrival. I explained her history and recent escape. Another tech came in the room and removed my terrier for 45 minutes. The vet came in, no introduction. He was rude, abrasive and hurried. He brought a black & white copy of a dogs spine and said he thinks this is what is wrong with my pup. My BELOVED terrier wasn't even in the room. When they finally brought her back in, I asked to see the vet again with my terrier in the room as I had specific questions about her stance, legs, etc. He was clearly ANNOYED at the inconvenience of seeing me again and told me he already examined her. I explained my concerns. He never even LOOKED at her or put hands on the areas of my concern. He was incredibly rude and made several inappropriate comments. Once he left the room, his female tech apologized and said he was having a "bad day" and attempted to HUG ME, of which I put my hand up. Even though I told the tech I DID NOT need a heart worm test multiple times, they did one and put the charge on my bill. At check-out, I told yet another rude woman I declined the heartworm test and she said she would remove it "as a courtesy". Earlier in my 2-hour visit, THAT woman raised her voice to me as she attempted to apologize for the behavior of the vet. UNREAL. The next day I called Dr. Don and told him I was in his clinic the day before and wanted to discuss my experience with him when he had time to discuss. He rambled a quick response and literally hung up on me. His receptionist called me 5 minues later asking how she could help, I explained that I wanted to share my experience with Dr. Don. It's been 11 days and I have yet to receive a call. I know there are irate, unfair people who live to make trouble and complain. I am not one of them. I love my terrier and every pet I have had the priviledge to own in my life. I have never been treated worse at a vet clinic (or any business), a place where you expect the staff to love animals or at least fake it. This staff were beyond rude or uncomfortably, fake nice who try to hug you. So bizarre. I was close to tears after I left this 2-hour visit which should have taken 30-45 minutes. There is no way I will ever step foot in The Pet Wellness Clinic again. Owner Dr. Don Hartfiel could have resolved this matter by returning my call and caring about his clinet(s). The buck stops with him. **I'm new to the area and was looking for a new vet. My previous one in Katy was awesome!

I love this place! All my animals are cared for quickly and efficiently. My dog absolutely loves going to this vet! At our previous vet my dog would have to be forced through the door but here she feels at ease.

I feel compelled to share my heartbreaking experience at Pet Wellness Clinic to prevent other pet owners from enduring the same distressing situation. Today, I made the agonizing decision to say goodbye to my beloved dog, who had been suffering from severe health issues. My intention was to ensure her final moments were filled with love and comfort, free from fear and pain. Unfortunately, this was not the reality of what transpired at the clinic. Upon arrival, my dog was taken to the back, and when they returned her, she had a catheter and a muzzle on. This was disheartening, especially since the staff had described her as sweet, even when she was uncomfortable. My mother expressed concern about the muzzle, but instead of addressing our worries, the vet tech snapped at her, which set a troubling tone for the appointment. The vet tech's behavior throughout was unprofessional and inappropriate for the type of appointment we were having. Rather than providing comfort during this sensitive time, she was loud and singing while my dog lay there, which added to my distress. Whenever I asked questions or sought clarification about the medical procedures being performed, it was clear that they did not want to be questioned. Instead of providing direct and factual answers, they resorted to belittling and mocking me, which only added to my frustration. When the veterinarian finally came in to administer the euthanasia medication, it was evident that he was not fully engaged in the process. His presence was brief, and he failed to provide adequate oversight of his staff, which I believe contributed to the complications we faced. I overheard someone in the back say they thought the catheter was not placed properly. When a catheter is inserted, the staff is supposed to draw back and check for blood to ensure it’s in a vein. This is a basic procedure, and mistakes like that should not occur; everyone in that clinic assigned to place catheters should be more than qualified to do it properly. My dog did not respond as expected; she was still conscious and panting heavily, which was deeply distressing for me. I had always been told that dogs should be sedated and relaxed before this procedure, but that was not the case here. Instead, my dog remained in a state of confusion and distress while staff members casually walked in and out of the room, oblivious to the emotional weight of the moment. Their insistence that my dog needed to be taken to the back for "investigation" felt wrong. I wanted her to be with me, not alone in a back room, scared and confused. At this point, it was more than just my desire to provide comfort; I wanted to oversee what was happening, as I had lost complete trust that they would act morally, ethically, or competently in handling the situation. Despite my protests, they continued to push their agenda, which felt driven more by liability concerns than compassion for my dog's well-being. After what felt like an eternity of arguing, they finally brought her back to me. By that point, she was barely alive. I could hardly comprehend the situation as I held her, desperately hoping for reassurance. It was a vet tech who ultimately entered the room to confirm my dog’s passing with a stethoscope. The entire experience was marred by a lack of empathy and professionalism that left me devastated. I urge anyone considering Pet Wellness Clinic to think carefully. The care for animals in their final moments should be treated with the utmost respect and compassion, something I did not receive. Pets are family, and they deserve to be treated with dignity.
