This typically includes clean and well-maintained examination rooms, comfortable waiting areas, and specialized spaces for procedures and recovery. The focus is on minimizing stress for animals while providing a safe and hygienic environment for medical care.
The core of The Pet Clinic of Martinsville lies in its veterinary services. Based on the information available, it is evident that the clinic offers medical care for pets. One customer review highlights the compassionate care provided by Dr. Lorens and the staff, indicating a focus on treating pets with kindness and making them feel comfortable during visits. This suggests that the clinic values a gentle and caring approach to animal handling.
However, another review presents a contrasting perspective regarding the handling of a young Great Dane puppy. This customer expressed concern about some staff members' approach to introducing themselves to the puppy before physical interaction, leading to fear and barking, which was then misinterpreted as aggression. This review also raises concerns about the consistency of communication and organization within the clinic, citing instances of repeated inquiries about a scheduled cat grooming appointment. While this is a single customer experience, it's important for potential clients to consider all available feedback.

Mar 03, 2025 · Beth MooreAt first I was pleased with this facility however at my second visit with my 14 week old Great Dane several of the employees didn’t attempt to allow my puppy to know that they were going to be touching him or giving him shots. They just immediately got in his face and was grabbing at him, then when he got scared and started to bark it was automatically assumed that he was aggressive. One tech that works there and has many Great Danes of her own came in spoke to mine took a few seconds to allow him to sniff her and then she started petting him with no issues at all. He has manners and can respond to several commands, as previously stated he is only 14 weeks old and every time I have taken him to the park for socializing there hasn’t been any other pets to interact with, I have taken him to several places (Tractor Supply, Rual King and even Hobby Lobby and pet stores) during each and every outing no issues yet the vet comes to the room after his shots and starts telling me that I NEED to enroll my puppy in obedience training because he’s to aggressive. I explain to her that he is not aggressive if you know how to approach an animal it would help and she continued to insist that I enroll him in obedience training, now this is only my second Great Dane but my first was a perfect angel so I’m pretty sure I can and will handle his socialization and create better habits for him given some time. My only concern here is maybe just maybe several of those employees are in the wrong line of work if your job is working with a huge variety of pets and they clearly don’t know how to interact with them. While I was checking out I asked about my sons chart to schedule a shave for a cat, I explained that she needed a shave and I was asked if I wanted the lion cut, I told her if that’s the same cut she got last time yes. The appointment was scheduled and the day of appointment when she was being dropped off they asked what service she was getting, they were told that she needed a shave and was due for a shot, couple hours later they call to verify what she was getting done then minutes later called his wife to ask again why the cat was there… at this point I am truly concerned for every pet that enters the facility as they clearly are not organized nor do they know how to interact with pets. Several of the staff members seemed very friendly but they were not the ones treating the animals so use caution if you choose this clinic for your pet… I will be looking for a new vet!
Mar 11, 2025 · Janie AllenI’m grateful of service provided to my dog but I am disappointed how the visit was handled financially. I recently visited the office 2 weeks ago. I was in a state of panic because my dog Milo who is a 9 lb Chihuahua was bitten by one of my own German shepherds in addition to me also bitten. This occurred because of a dog fight between my two German shepherds. I able to break them up. But after I was able break them up, one of my shepherds bit me pretty bad & then the other shepherd was fighting with Milo. After this happened, I had three bite marks on my arm, blood was pouring out of it. I decided to drop Milo off at the clinic first before I went to urgent care. Milo had a pouch of blood on his side plus to bite marks on his head. Thankfully he is fine now. When I walked into this vet office, I was distraught after breaking up the dog fight, Milo getting hurt , and myself . I was hysterical and a mess. So they was able to rush him back and I told them I would be back after I finished up at urgent care. After 5 mins of leaving for urgent care, a lady called to tell me that her “office manager” said that they needed a deposit for they could work on him. So I had to pull over on side of the road to read my debit card numbers to them since they insisted that I had to pay before they would operate on my injured dog. I will never take any of my pets there ever again. I’m thankful for the care provided for my dog but I’m disgusted that after seeing my injuries & Milos that it was inappropriate for them to call me. I was so disappointed and hurt by this. This business is all about how much money they can make off of pets. This evening; I had to take him back for a follow up. Which in my opinion, I didn’t need to pay anything else since they didn’t do anything today and previously charged me 600.00. The woman from the office ran outside after me saying I needed to pay for today. I go inside. She tells me I owe 45. I disputed this. She said she would talk to someone in the back. So after that, she came back to the front and said I only needed to pay 22. I know 22 isn’t a lot but it should not have been charged. I will never go to this clinic again. They show no compassion to their clients.
