I cannot even begin to express my gratitude to everyone involved in Otto’s care. Every single interaction I had with the staff at OSU’s Veterinary Hospital was professional, informative, and INCREDIBLY compassionate. When Otto’s condition was presented to be of greater severity than initially predicted, Dr. Pope presented multiple treatment plans with realistic outcomes and did not sugarcoat the severity of his condition. She approached the conversation of euthanasia with a nonjudgemental attitude and gracefully answered every single question I could think of to assist in my decision. Dr. Pope and additional support staff— including social work— were heavily involved during the entire process of Otto’s euthanasia, offering constant reassurance that I was making the right decision for my chronically-ill special needs boy. It is also important to note that Otto’s euthanasia occurred on a late Friday afternoon and his team likely worked overtime to assist us. We were not rushed by any means and were encouraged to take all of the time we needed. I cannot recommend this place enough for emergent pet care. Thank you to everyone involved in Otto’s care for making our final moments together more meaningful and most importantly, for sustaining his comfort level.

I have nothing but good things to say about the Cardiology Department at the OSU Veterinary Medical Center. My cat Edgar was determined to be experiencing serious heart issues by my primary care veterinarian, and after recommendation, I decided to take little man here from the Cleveland area. They treated us like family from the moment we arrived, providing a comfortable room to discuss what Edgar was going through with a veterinary assistant. They conducted a series of tests and observations over about four hours and determined the problem. Dr. Jordan met with us to discuss in detail what was going on, and was extremely thorough, caring, and compassionate, going above and beyond to make sure Edgar got the best care possible. The cost was also very reasonable for the quality of care. I’ll forever be grateful for this medical center, and we’ll be back soon for follow up appointments.

Our cat Dexter had a medical emergency from a sudden illness and we were recommended to go to OSU for treatment. The woman who got us checked in was very friendly and complimented our Dexter's "orange nose", I never heard the color being described as orange before and loved that. Waiting times were never too long for us and always communicated well, we had our newborn baby and toddler with us so that was very appreciated. We received devastating news that our Dexter was rapidly declining and the chances of making a recovery were very slim. Our vet discussed humane euthanasia with us as an option and that seemed like the best choice to make in this situation because he was in so much discomfort. Our vet always explained everything and answered every question we had. They had nice quiet rooms with soft lighting set up for saying goodbye. I was able to hold our Dexter the whole time as she gave him the medications through an IV standing away from us so that his final moments were focused on being with us, his family. After he passed away they told me I could take as long as I needed and to just call them when I'm ready for him to be taken away from the room. A week or so later I received an email that Dexter's memorial paw print was mistakenly sent to our old address. I responded and updated them with our new address and I received his paw print in the mail soon after. It was beautifully done, came in its own case with a poem and a place to put Dexter's picture. We also received an invitation to their annual remembrance ceremony. And our wonderful vet wrote us a personal sympathy card with such kind and reassuring words that brought me some peace of mind, I really appreciated it. Although they could not save our Dexter, they made sure he passed peacefully and went above and beyond my expectations with the memorial paw print, card, and invitation. They made one of the worst days of my life much more bearable and we're grateful for that.

This is my 4 month old husky kota. We took him in here to OSU after he got into the trash and was getting sick and having diarrhea and not eating. They thought he had parvo. They gave him a test and it came back negative they said they was still treating him for parvo. They said we had to come up with 3375$ so they could take him into their care. They would not let us leave him there so he could get help while we brought back the money. So after going home and selling my car to pay for this vet bill my beloved kota had passed. We felt completely ignored he did not get the actual help that he needed and if we went to a different hospital things probably could have been different! He needs justice! THEY ARE NOT PETS THEY ARE FAMILY! This is where u bring ur pets to die not get help! They just care about they MONEY!

Will only use OSU from now on, not MedVet! The efficiency was top notch and wait times were minimal. I especially wanted to highlight Haley, Audrey, Samantha, Dr. Spitzer, Dr. Nelson and Dr. Dowell for going above and beyond to take care of my cat, Bandit, who stayed overnight and was on the verge of receiving a feeding tube. The team took phenomenal care of of him and were so patient and delightful to talk to considering the circumstances. We expected that he would need ample testing which was going to be very expensive, but due to the exceptional care, they deduced that he didn't need the additional testing and he was able to come home. I am just overall impressed and incredibly grateful.
