Update: let’s just add to this by saying, the manager left me a voicemail AND an email to make absolutely sure I knew: they are right and I am wrong. Like come on now. 😑 I have been taking my senior dog here for years. We purchased the “vaccines for life” program years ago and diligently bring her in annually for her shots and a checkup. We even pay the exorbitant cost for senior bloodwork and paid these folks $2k for dental work. Well, basically a long story short, they deactivated us in their system without us telling them to, and we didn’t receive a reminder call for her annual checkup. I called about a week after their 30 day leeway period to set up her appointment, and I was informed her vaccines for life program was no longer good because we didn’t get her an appointment in time. Yes, policy garbage. But as a loyal customer (because at their prices, that’s what it is), there should be some grace here for life happening and the fact that they neglected to send us their reminder. I instructed the lady to cancel my appointment and that I would be taking my business elsewhere, and I hung up. She called me BACK, just to argue with me about why they were justified. Like why?? They have always been way overpriced, but I continued to come here for continuity of care and the program for vaccines. I will no longer be giving them my business and will no longer be recommending them to friends. There are plenty of other vets who care about patients that I don’t have to argue with or feel like they are profit-focused. The good news is that I don’t need them! There are plenty of other wonderful vets to care for my girl. But I absolutely would suggest you also steer clear and find a kinder office. ❤️

THE Grove City Veterinary Hospital Introduce
Welcome to the local introduction of THE Grove City Veterinary Hospital, located at 4350 Grove City Rd, Grove City, OH 43123, USA. As a part of the Pet Hospital category, THE Grove City Veterinary Hospital provides veterinary care services to the local community. They can be contacted at (614) 875-4321 or their mobile number +1 614-875-4321.
Based on the available customer reviews, experiences at THE Grove City Veterinary Hospital appear to be marked by significant concerns regarding customer service, communication, pricing, and staff interactions. While the hospital may offer a range of veterinary services, the feedback highlights potential issues that local users should carefully consider.
One long-term customer, who had been taking their senior dog to the hospital for years and had invested in their "vaccines for life" program, detailed a negative experience involving the termination of this program due to missing a narrow appointment window. Despite being a loyal customer who had paid substantial amounts for various services, including expensive senior bloodwork and dental work, the hospital allegedly deactivated their program without a reminder call. When the customer called shortly after the leeway period, they were informed the program was void. The reviewer expressed frustration with the rigid policy enforcement, especially considering the lack of a reminder from the hospital. The situation escalated when the customer cancelled their appointment, and a staff member called back to argue about the justification for the policy. This customer, who had previously tolerated what they perceived as overpriced services for continuity of care, stated they would no longer be a client and would not recommend the hospital to others, suggesting a focus on profit over patient care.
Another reviewer recounted a negative experience during a visit with Dr. Boggs. They described the veterinarian as "over critical," questioning their pet care practices and repeatedly commenting on the pet's weight while simultaneously giving the animal cheese and peanut butter. The reviewer also felt that Dr. Boggs was annoyed by the pet's behavior and perceived a judgmental attitude. This customer also mentioned the high prices charged by the hospital and an uncomfortable feeling of being looked down upon. The observation of staff members watching the customer leave and potentially talking about them further contributed to a negative overall experience, leading to a firm decision not to return.
The initial update from the first reviewer, mentioning a voicemail and email from the manager insisting on their correctness in the policy dispute, further underscores a perceived lack of flexibility and a potentially confrontational approach to customer service issues.
Given these detailed and negative accounts, it is challenging to objectively describe the positive aspects of the environment, services, and features of THE Grove City Veterinary Hospital based solely on this feedback. However, we can infer some aspects and potential concerns:
- Environment: One reviewer described the initial experience as "so so," which doesn't provide a strong indication of the clinic's atmosphere. The second reviewer mentioned an uncomfortable experience, potentially influenced by the interactions with the staff. The cleanliness and physical layout of the hospital are not directly addressed in these reviews.
- Services: THE Grove City Veterinary Hospital likely offers a range of standard veterinary services, including:
- Vaccinations (as indicated by the "vaccines for life" program).
- Routine check-ups.
- Senior pet care, including specialized bloodwork.
- Dental work.
- Diagnosis and treatment of illnesses (implied).
- Features: Potential features, such as the "vaccines for life" program, are presented negatively due to the rigid enforcement of their terms and the perceived lack of customer service. Other potential features might include experienced veterinarians (Dr. Mayberry and Dr. Boggs are mentioned), but the reviews offer conflicting perspectives on their bedside manner and communication skills. The pricing is consistently described as "exorbitant" or "overpriced," which is a significant negative feature for the reviewers. The lack of reminder calls for appointments, despite having a program requiring annual visits, is also a notable negative aspect.
Currently, there is no positive promotional information available. The "vaccines for life" program, which might have been intended as a benefit, is now associated with a negative experience for at least one customer due to its strict terms and the handling of the situation. The high prices mentioned by both reviewers act as a deterrent rather than a promotion.
In conclusion, the available customer reviews for THE Grove City Veterinary Hospital in Grove City, OH, raise significant concerns regarding their customer service, communication practices, pricing, and at least one veterinarian's interaction style. While they offer a range of veterinary services, the negative feedback about policy inflexibility, argumentative responses to customer complaints, perceived high costs, and uncomfortable interactions should be carefully considered by local pet owners. The experiences shared suggest a need for potential clients to weigh these concerns against the convenience of the location and to possibly seek alternative veterinary care providers who prioritize a more empathetic and client-focused approach. It would be prudent for prospective customers to seek more recent reviews or consider a preliminary visit to assess the clinic environment and staff interactions firsthand before committing to their services.

Feb 06, 2025 · Haleigh AndrickWe will never go here again. The experience we had first time was so so with Dr.Mayberry, we decided to give it another go, but this last time with Dr.Boggs was a nightmare. She was over critical, questioning everything I was doing for our pet, she kept saying he was overweight, yet giving him a ton of cheese and peanut butter during the visit, as well as almost being annoyed that our pet was jumping on her. If she doesn't like her job, she needs to stop. Not to mention the price we pay. Don't look down on your customers, this why we bring our pets to a vet, to keep them safe from disease and making sure they are growing properly, we don't need your criticism. Also, the staff was looking out the window when I left, why? Super odd! Probably talking about me. My experience was nonetheless, uncomfortable. We will never come here again Dr. Boggs!
