The reviews about staff are favorable but I had a different experience. The girl behind the counter didn't smile and had no warmth about her. It's traumatizing leaving your pet behind for a procedure and reassurance is well, reassuring. The high school looking girl it not spread warmth.

The Ark Animal Hospital was established in 1990 by the husband and wife team, Drs. Brady and Jana Robbins, both graduates of OSU College of Veterinary Medicine. Their philosophy centers on treating all patients as if they were their own and their owners like family, aiming to provide compassionate, quality healthcare while being mindful of financial constraints. This foundational principle underscores their commitment to a patient- and client-focused approach.
The environment at The Ark Animal Hospital is designed to be a place where both animals and their human companions feel cared for. While specific architectural or aesthetic details are not extensively provided, the focus is on a functional and comprehensive facility. The hospital aims to provide a reassuring setting, particularly when pets are left for procedures. The facility is equipped with an in-house lab for quick diagnostics, digital radiography, and state-of-the-art equipment for surgical procedures, all of which contribute to a modern and capable environment for veterinary care. The overall goal is to make the veterinary experience a positive one, ensuring both pet and owner are at ease.
The Ark Animal Hospital offers a full spectrum of veterinary services for small animals, covering preventive care, diagnostics, and advanced treatments. Their services include, but are not limited to:
Wellness and Preventive Care: This is a cornerstone of their practice, emphasizing early detection and prevention. Services include comprehensive physical exams, customized vaccination plans tailored to a pet's lifestyle and environment, and year-round parasite prevention for fleas, ticks, heartworms, and intestinal parasites. They recommend regular check-ups to monitor overall health and detect any changes or early signs of illness.
Veterinary Dentistry: Recognizing the importance of oral health, they provide comprehensive dental services including cleaning, adjustment, filing, extraction, and repair. Digital dental X-rays are utilized during exams for a thorough assessment.
Surgical Services: The hospital is equipped with a state-of-the-art surgical suite and experienced staff to perform various general surgical procedures. These include routine spays and neuters, emergency surgeries (like laceration or wound repair, foreign object removal), soft tissue/general surgery (growth removal), urinary bladder surgery and stone removal, abdominal exploratory surgery, oral surgery (tooth extractions), and Cesarean sections. They prioritize patient safety with pre-surgical screening, tailored anesthetics, the latest monitoring equipment, and pain management before, during, and after surgery.
In-House Laboratory and Diagnostics: For rapid and efficient service, The Ark Animal Hospital maintains an in-house lab capable of performing various tests, including blood work (complete blood count, chemistry tests for kidney, liver, pancreas evaluation), urinalysis, heartworm tests, and internal/external parasite evaluations. They also utilize digital X-rays and ultrasound for detailed imaging of internal organs, aiding in the diagnosis of conditions affecting the heart, lungs, stomach, bones, and reproductive/urinary systems.
Boarding: The hospital offers spacious suites in a climate-controlled facility for pets when their owners are away.
Grooming: Basic bathing and grooming services are available to help maintain the hygiene and comfort of pets.
Puppy and Kitten Care: Special discounted packages are offered for qualified puppies and kittens to ensure they start on the right path to health, including initial wellness visits and vaccination series.
Senior Pet Care: Recognizing the unique needs of aging animals, The Ark Animal Hospital offers senior care programs with geriatric health screenings to monitor health and prevent serious diseases. They suggest wellness checks at least twice a year for senior pets, in addition to senior blood work and diagnostics.
Nutritional Counseling: Guidance on diet and nutrition is provided to meet a pet's specific needs, including weight management plans.
Microchipping: A service for pet identification and recovery in case of loss.
Teleconsult Appointments: For added convenience, they offer teleconsult appointments for many services, provided the pet has been seen by one of their veterinarians within the last year.
One of the notable features of The Ark Animal Hospital, as indicated by reviews, is the compassion and kindness often experienced by clients and their pets, particularly during sensitive times. For instance, in a heartbreaking situation involving euthanasia, the vets were described as "lovely and kind," making the difficult process "so much easier with their compassion and kind words." The gesture of sending a burial-safe bag and a signed condolence card from the entire staff demonstrates a profound level of empathy and support for grieving pet owners. This highlights a strong commitment to emotional support in addition to medical care.
However, it is also important to acknowledge areas where client experience has been inconsistent, as noted in some reviews. Feedback mentions instances where the front desk staff lacked warmth or exhibited an "atrocious attitude." This suggests a potential for variation in customer service quality, which can impact a client's overall perception and willingness to return, especially during emotionally charged situations like leaving a pet for a procedure. While the medical staff's expertise and kindness are often lauded, the initial interaction can significantly shape the client journey.
Regarding promotional information, The Ark Animal Hospital in Claremore, OK, offers various ways for clients to save on veterinary services. These include:
Referral Program: They have a "Refer a Friend" program where both the existing client and the new referred client receive a $50 credit after the new client's first visit. This encourages community building and rewards loyal clients.
Puppy & Kitten Care Packages: As mentioned in their services, special discounted rates are available for qualified puppies and kittens to ensure a healthy start.
Savings on Parasite Medications: Promotions for heartworm, flea, and tick medications are periodically offered, with potential savings up to $105, emphasizing continuous protection for pets.
While specific discounts for seniors, military personnel, or first responders are mentioned for other "Ark Animal Hospital" locations (which may or may not be affiliated with this specific Claremore location), it is advisable to contact The Ark Animal Hospital in Claremore directly to confirm any locally applicable promotions. They also encourage potential clients to discuss payment options and financial constraints, and like many modern veterinary practices, they likely accept various payment methods including major credit cards. Mar 18, 2025 · Charmayne HughesI have came here before for my boyfriend's cat that was very sick, so we were in there pretty frequently until she heartbreakingly had to be put down and the vets were lovely and kind. But the Vet Tech Mandy has had the worst attitude, just about everytime we've had to call or come in. I called today to schedule an appointment for my dog and the same atrocious attitude was what I was met with. I would've given her the benefit of the doubt if it hadn't been for my prior experiences with her. But I went ahead and called back and canceled my appointment.
Mar 19, 2025 · Madison AltaresEverything about this place is fabulous. The people, the service, the price. I can't brag about this place enough. I highly recommend it to anyone and everyone. The most caring vet service I've been to.
May 05, 2025 · Beth CampbellHad a less than thrilling experience with them. Took my cat to check for a UTI. Was told to drop him in the morning so they could get a sample from him. He was there from 8am-1pm ish and they called to say they had not gotten him to urinate and wanted permission to sedate him as he got upset when they tried to stick a needle through his stomach for the sample. I agreed and they called back a couple hours later to say they had gotten what they needed and went over diagnosis and treatment and told me when to pick him up. I picked him up and was told something completely different for diagnosis and treatment. Never got to speak with the vet, wasnt told they scheduled a follow up appt for him, and he was covered in urine when i got him home and out of his crate. I then had to bathe him because he was soaked. When i asked why he had a followup appt the following week they said because anytime theres something going on you should followup, but i was told its a psychological condition and theres not much that can be done. They also in my opinion prescribed meds he did not need to get more money out of me. Then 3 days after his appt he developed an upper respiratory infection he picked up while in their care and they wanted to charge me to bring him back in to be checked out and treated. They did nothing to make it right or even call to check on him and see how he was doing. Will absolutely not be back. $260 for no answers, no real treatment, and a sicker cat.
Dec 10, 2024 · MaleynaThis morning, my dogs had a brief visit to pick up Bravecto and get an allergy shot. The staff are friendly, the service was quick, and I love that the office is open on Saturday!
