For over a decade, I went to a cat-only clinic in Scottsdale. The clinic provided wonderful care for my cat, but I found I took him in for a check-up two-to-three times a year, and often found myself shelling out quite a bit of money for procedures and services for an already healthy cat - I never left without spending at least $300. When we got a second cat, the vet expense became far more obvious than in previous years. For two healthy cats, we were spending at least $2,000 a year for wellness check-ups and vaccines (not to mention the "highly encouraged" (just short of required) full blood panels once a year for senior cats). And when one got sick, we could expect to add another $1,000 for a single visit. Finally, my husband had enough and asked that I search for a more reasonable vet. I was apprehensive at first - didn't "more reasonable" mean a lower standard of care? After spending over a week researching a dozen other vets in the Valley and calling around for vaccine quotes, I found Tempe Pet Clinic. They had outstanding reviews on Google, their walk-in vaccine clinics were too convenient to ignore, and the prices were spectacular. I took our newest cat to the the clinic three times in the past year - twice for vaccines and once for him being sick (a bill that ended up being less than $100, including medication and the visit fee). Each time, I was so incredibly impressed with the service, the knowledge of the Clinic's practitioners, the care they showed my cat and, last but not least, the fractioned vet bills that still allowed us to sleep at night. Today came the true test - I took my oldest cat in for vaccines. Keep in mind, this cat (I refer to him as a true "scaredy cat") would usually shake, foam at the mouth or drool from anxiety even if I put a calming collar on him every time we went to his old vet in Scottsdale. Upon arrival at Tempe Pet Clinic (I used their awesome check-in online feature this time and will continue to do so in the future), when the tech checked his heart, she made a comment how calm he was. He wasn't shaking, he rarely meowed, didn't foam at the mouth or drool... instead, he calmly walked out of the kennel and greeted everyone and laid down for his vaccines. I was in shock how comfortable he was - and, of course, relieved. When checking out, his combo vaccine cost a total of $51. This is a very long way of saying, no, a "more reasonable" vet does not mean a lower standard of care. If anything, both cats seemed to do better than they did at the posh clinic that had private rooms and goody bags with their picture on it for each visit. I'm incredibly impressed with the entire staff at Tempe Pet Clinic, am so grateful for their care, and will be a longtime customer. Having fur babies doesn't have to be the expensive, stressful situation we often found ourselves in when it came to vet care. Try out Tempe Pet Clinic. You (and your fur babies) won't be disappointed.

Aug 29, 2024 · Melissa Howellwhat an awful manager. i called to ask if i could go over lab results i got from affordable pet labs, the general senior panel that every single vet does. and they refused to see me? they didn't even really say how much labs with them would be instead if they insisted on that they just straight up refused to see me or explain anything that well. it really just felt like they were mad i got labs somewhere else and wanted to talk about the results with them. truly disappointing and upsetting. i kept asking why they couldn't even just look at the results and just kept saying its up to the doctors discretion they might want to do other labs, okay how much are those labs then, why is this an issue at all really? no real answer. awful person.
Jan 03, 2025 · Varecia LuciusGood experience overall, we booked an appt weeks out for my cats spay appointment and I was offered a sooner appointment that same evening! Communication was great, got a reminder for the appointment, detailed instructions. Drop off was quick and easy and I can tell the employee who took all my cats information in the back loves what she does, she loved on my cat immediately, I didn’t get her name but that helped me feel comforted knowing my cat was in good hands. Afterwards I got a call for pick up and a call the next day checking in to make sure my cat was ok! I’d definitely recommend, they are affordable as well.
Dec 10, 2024 · Jeanine White"Time spent with cats is never wasted." ― Sigmund Freud Since mid-November of '23, a neighborhood stray has been visiting my house. She started living in my backyard and now takes her naps, meals, and bedtime inside my house. How did this happen!? I took my sweet part-time outdoor cat, Gracie, to this clinic to get spayed and vaccinated. Little did I know that this cat was already spayed. Oops! Before you ask, the cat is not chipped. Even though Gracie did not need to be operated on, I appreciated the honesty this clinic works. How easy would it have been for them to cut her open and still charge me for it? Instead, I was charged $25 for Gracie to get a haircut on her belly, to be sedated, and inspected. Very cool. They even called the next day to see if Gracie was doing well. They also let me know that she should be around two years-old. The Terrible Twos are real, folks. My leather armchair has zebra stripes now. Haha! My friend takes her cat here and I can see why. The staff is great and they have good hearts. I'll be back with Gracie for the walk-in vaccination shots clinic MWF, 8AM-11AM.
