I went here all the way from eastern CT to have my 5-month-old kitten spayed. (Local vets had such long wait times that I would've had to make the appointment before my cat was even born.) I was impressed with how quickly they were able to see her, and how affordable it all was! My cat was lovingly handled and I could tell the workers cared about her! She healed up quickly with no issues and is a happy adult cat now. I would recommend this clinic, and when my family adopts again we will bring our cat here if s/he needs to be spayed or neutered.

At Sterling Shelter Clinic, our primary mission is to provide high-quality spay and neuter services in an efficient and compassionate manner. We recognize that the cost of veterinary care can be a significant concern for many pet owners, and we strive to offer affordable solutions without compromising the safety and well-being of your animals. Our clinic is a vital resource for the local community, helping to reduce the number of unwanted pets and promoting responsible pet ownership.

Our experienced veterinary staff follows strict surgical protocols and utilizes appropriate anesthesia monitoring to ensure the safety and comfort of your pet during their procedure.

The core services offered at Sterling Shelter Clinic include:

  • Cat Spay (Ovariohysterectomy): This surgical procedure involves the removal of a female cat's uterus and ovaries, preventing pregnancy and eliminating heat cycles. Spaying offers numerous health benefits, including reducing the risk of mammary cancer and uterine infections.
  • Cat Neuter (Castration): This surgical procedure involves the removal of a male cat's testicles, preventing unwanted litters and reducing behaviors such as spraying and roaming. Neutering can also decrease the risk of certain health problems.
  • Dog Spay (Ovariohysterectomy): Similar to the procedure in cats, dog spaying prevents pregnancy and offers health benefits such as reducing the risk of mammary cancer and pyometra (a serious uterine infection).
  • Dog Neuter (Castration): This surgical procedure in male dogs prevents unwanted litters and can reduce behaviors like aggression and roaming. Neutering can also help prevent certain prostate problems and testicular cancer.

A significant feature of Sterling Shelter Clinic is our commitment to affordability. As highlighted in the testimonials from our satisfied clients, we offer spay and neuter services at a very reasonable cost, making these essential procedures accessible to a wider range of pet owners. This affordability does not come at the expense of quality care. Our skilled veterinary team ensures that each surgery is performed with precision and attention to detail, and your pet's well-being is our top priority.

Neutered our 40+ LB dog at 1.3 years of age -- it was a nightmare experience. Incision looked ragged and surgical site swelled significantly within 48 hours. I was in constant contact with the clinic (you have to email, they don't answer calls) and shared images. I was consistently told: if swelling doesn't increase, no need for action. Less than one week from procedure, our pup began bleeding out and I took him to local pet hospital. Emergency surgery performed to relieve abscess and massive infection. Both hospital staff and then private vet questioned the quality of the neuter procedure. I can add that the post-op care was unacceptably bad. We followed instructions faithfully, stayed in contact with the Clinic, and received poor guidance. Our pup was clearly brewing an infection and they failed to recognize it, properly advise us, or even offer a follow-up appointment. This was a traumatic, dangerous and very very expensive experience for us - all around. Our pup will be fine, but he went through a lot and is badly scarred. Be extremely careful about using Sterling for clinic-related procedures. Hope this helps someone -- and their pet.

My baby Thor was neutered at this clinic recently. I cant tell enough good things about how they took very good care of my kitty.. the whole process of scheduling an appointment with them was pretty simple and they reached out within a couple of days with availability. Once Scheduled, they gave us clear instructions on how to prepare the kitty for the surgery. Everything went smooth. the lady who received Thor at the clinic was fantastic and very patiently listened to my concerns and even offered Thor a litter box to do his business as it was pretty early. Everything went smooth with the surgery it appeared.. my baby was well taken care of. very affordable unlike my vet who charged 5 times the cost. WOuld highly recommend Sterling clinic to all those who wanna spay or neuter their kitty cats.. Here is a pic of my Thor with the cone post surgery
