100% positive review! The amazing team saved my baby! She was so sick, but she is home now! They kept me extremely informed, and updated on her progress. The doctors there are not only very good at their job, but they have an amazing amount of love and compassion for the pets, and the pet parents. Every single person, from the doctors, and technicians, to the janitorial staff, are so kind and caring. They really do take it to heart. While the circumstances were terrible, I loved our experience, and while I wouldn’t want to ever have to go back, I would definitely recommend this hospital to anyone! Thank you all for your hard work and dedication to saving as many babies as possible! Photos are first day of treatment - coming home.

I took my dog there in the middle of the night and he was very sick. While their treatment plan was on point, I went to pick him up at 8 AM and nobody came out to talk to me. A tech brought him to me and when I asked questions, she couldn’t answer any of them. I had just spent $1000 and couldn’t even be given the courtesy of having someone tell me how my baby did for the past 5 hours. Thankfully, they had emailed me a visit summary, so I was able to go over that with my veterinarian after immediately leaving the clinic. While the care that he received was good, the lack of bedside manner will mean that I never go there again.

I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to Steel City Emergency Vet and their incredible staff, particularly Brandi, who provided such comfort and support as we said our final goodbyes to our sweet boy, Luke. From the moment I called to our arrival, the team was not only quick and patient but also showed immense empathy during this devastating time. We had the privilege of sharing almost 11 amazing years with Luke before we lost him to bone cancer. While his loss has been incredibly hard, the professionalism, knowledge, and care shown by their team were exceptional. I highly recommend Steel City Emergency Vet for anyone in need of compassionate care for their pets.

my cat is the best part of my life, so I owe everything to the entire staff and Dr. Schmidt at this clinic who saved him (twice). Whether I was coming in to visit, calling for an update, or asking a bunch of questions - the staff was wonderful and patient. I am so fortunate to have my sweet baby laying next to me purring as I type this (Angel/anyone who dealt with Leo-I'm sorry you didn't get to see this side of Galileo!!) Emergencies suck, but unfortunately they do happen. I am thankful that this clinic exists- to have this ER clinic as a resource gives me such peace of mind. This staff genuinely cares about the wellbeing of your pet. I am grateful beyond words that I have my heart back home with me!

This place is incredible from the staff up front to the doctors in back and everyone in between. A message to anyone who hasn't used Steel City before, they are an EMERGENCY vet practice and they operate based on the priority level of the animals coming in the front door. If you have to wait longer than expected, that is a good thing, that means your pet is in better shape than others who come in needing immediate surgery. Be patient, this practice sees tons of animals every day. If you are waiting for a while be thankful you aren't the owner of a pet who is in there in a life or death scenario. My dog got bitten by another dog in the neck and we rushed to Steel City, they immediately took her back and told me they would bring me back to a room to discuss next steps once my dog was stabilized. Dr. Wes Stephens carefully talked me through all of the injuries, their levels of severity and gave me different options based on being conservative or aggressive. He gave me his personal recommendation but I felt no pressure, you can tell he cares deeply about the wellbeing of animals. We elected for the aggressive route and chose surgery and overnight care. Dr. Stephens called me right after the surgery to update me on how everything went. He clearly articulated all of the steps that were taken, let me know my pet was doing well and opened the floor to ask if I had any questions. We picked our girl up the following morning and the cost even came in on the low end of their initial estimate. I can't thank this practice or Dr. Wes Stephens enough for what they do and for the care they provided us. I hope I don't have to ever use an emergency vet again but if I do I will 100% choose Steel City.
