Posting a review for the second time simply because I love this clinic so much and wanted to share my personal experiences. Reading the few bad reviews on the page has hurt my heart on the vet's behalf due to people's unfriendly attitudes. As someone who has worked in animal services, I understand the hustle and bustle of trying to make sure every animal is cared for while still keeping clients happy! I can gladly say this clinic has provided everything they are possibly able to give. Including proper care, proffesional time managment and very friendly staff! I havent had the privalige to meet all the staff members in person but the ones I have met left me with a smile and confidence that my pup Harley was correctly taken care of to their best ability! Working with animals can be very stressful, especially knowing how jumpy and attitudal my pup can be when she is nervous. Haha! But the staff were still very gentle and caring despite the fact that Harley has nipped at them before. (Which I apologize for because I know the staff were as gentle as can be with her) My pup was a rescue from a puppy mill and no doubt has ptsd from whatever she endured while there. She has had a fear of men since I got her, but still felt safe enough to let Dr. Fruit care for her which I am eternally greatful for! Unfortunately she had to have a large number of teeth removed due to her lovely dachsund genetics. Lol! But even with her temperment the staff took VERY good care of her and even gave her a bath after her proceedure due to her defecating on herself from the anesthesia. Which I was very greatful for. They go above and beyond to make sure their patients and clients are well taken care of and as happy as they can be. I have also had a hard time getting Harley's nails trimmed which have caused them to grow to an unhealthy length which I've been embarassed to admit. But I was pleasantly surprised when she was returned to me, quickly, and with very professionally trimmed nails! I honestly expected the staff to return her with the same length nails and an apology due to our past struggles with anyone touching her paws. But she felt safe enough to let them do their job and again I couldnt be more greatful! On a different note, I am HIGHLY allergic to cats and will have a reaction to anything a cat touches. But every visit, I leave rash and sniffle free! Which tells me that the staff keep a very clean environment for their animals and humans! I was VERY impressed with my visits and I will continue bringing my fur baby to this lovely establishment for years to come! A huge thanks to the staff, docters and owner for giving me and my pup the best clinic experience! Also should note I feel comfortable enough to share my pups funny nickname, which the staff and docters are free to use if they choose! The name has developed over the years but additions to it have left us calling her, "Sergeant Major Squirrel" due to her long grey body and the constant pacing and sniffing absolutely everything she can! Lol Note, we call her squirrel for short

This attention to detail ensures a comfortable experience, minimizing potential allergens and creating a more pleasant atmosphere for everyone.
The range of **services** offered at Staunton River Veterinary Clinic is comprehensive, addressing a wide spectrum of pet health needs. While specific service listings are not provided, the glowing customer reviews strongly suggest a full-service veterinary practice. This likely includes routine wellness exams, vaccinations, preventative medicine, diagnostic services, and potentially surgical procedures. The care provided is tailored to individual pet needs, as evidenced by a customer whose dachshund, Harley, required numerous teeth extractions due to genetic predispositions. The clinic successfully managed this complex procedure, showcasing their expertise in dental care and surgical interventions. Beyond the medical procedures themselves, the clinic also offers practical services like professional nail trims, even for pets with historical difficulties, highlighting their ability to handle challenging cases with patience and skill.

Mar 10, 2025 · Melissa WilsonThey were able to get me an appointment quick and did a full wellness with multiple vaccines in under an hour yet I feel they were fully focused on making sure my fur baby was well taken care of. Jul 17, 2024 · Windy MaynardWe were on vacation at Smith Mountain Lake, VA, with our 1.5 year old French Bull Dog Prince. He swam in the lake for the first time and developed a rectal fissure from trapped water under his tail. Very painful. We called Staunton River and they made room for us to visit the same day. We were totally impressed with how the staff and Dr. Connelley took personal interest in helping our out of town guy. They even delayed their lunch to fix him. We cannot say enough about how this group cares for their patients. Our guy is doing excellent now, we want to thank them for their wonderful care and attention!
Aug 23, 2024 · Bruce RichardsonBuddy is 13 & we have been with Staunton River for 3 years now. We have only positive thing to say with the services we've received. Definitely would recommend to any cat, dog or pig owner!
