Dr Keane was amazing. He spent over a hour with our horse. He was thorough and very informative. He is not out to take your money but totally concerned about the horse and the less invasive the better. He talked with my daughter and included her in the treatment plan to increase our horses top line. I could not be any happier If you have a lameness issue or think you need hocks injected, this is the vet to see. He did not recommend our horses hocks to be injected at this time. A+++++

Welcome to Sports Medicine Associates of Chester County

Welcome to Sports Medicine Associates of Chester County, a specialized Pet Hospital located at 172 Hood Rd, Cochranville, PA 19330, USA. You can reach us by phone at (610) 869-4000 or via mobile at +1 610-869-4000. Operating under the platform category of Pet Hospital, Sports Medicine Associates of Chester County appears to focus primarily on providing advanced veterinary care for athletic animals, with a strong emphasis evident in the reviews on equine sports medicine, including lameness evaluations and treatment. While categorized as a Pet Hospital, their specialization suggests a niche within the broader spectrum of animal healthcare, potentially offering services and goods tailored to the needs of performance animals.

Given the specialization in sports medicine, particularly for horses, the environment at Sports Medicine Associates of Chester County likely includes facilities tailored to examining and treating large animals. This may involve spacious examination areas suitable for horses, diagnostic imaging equipment such as digital radiography and ultrasound specifically designed for equine use, and potentially facilities for lameness evaluations, including arenas or long straightaways for observing movement. The focus on less invasive treatments, as mentioned in one review, might also imply the presence of equipment for therapies like shockwave or laser treatment. The cleanliness and professionalism expected of any Pet Hospital would still be paramount, with a layout designed for the safety and comfort of both animals and staff during specialized procedures.

The services offered by Sports Medicine Associates of Chester County, as indicated by the reviews, center around sports medicine for animals, with a notable expertise in equine care. A primary service appears to be the diagnosis and treatment of lameness in horses. This involves thorough examinations, potentially including gait analysis, palpation, nerve blocks, and advanced imaging to identify the underlying causes of lameness. Dr. Keane is specifically highlighted for his thoroughness in this area, spending over an hour with one horse and being very informative. The practice also seems to offer treatments for various musculoskeletal issues in performance animals. The mention of hock injections suggests that joint therapies are part of their service offerings, although Dr. Keane's cautious approach, not recommending them in one case, indicates a focus on evidence-based and necessary interventions.

The inclusion of the daughter in the treatment plan for a horse's top line suggests that the practice also provides guidance and potentially therapies aimed at improving athletic performance and musculoskeletal development. This holistic approach to sports medicine, considering not just injury treatment but also performance enhancement, could be a key aspect of their services.

The features of Sports Medicine Associates of Chester County are strongly emphasized in the positive customer reviews. Dr. Keane is lauded for his thoroughness, his informative approach, and his patient-centered (or rather, horse-centered) philosophy of prioritizing the animal's well-being over unnecessary procedures. His willingness to spend a significant amount of time with each animal and to involve the owner in the treatment plan are significant features. The practice's commitment to less invasive treatments when possible is another noteworthy feature, potentially saving owners money and minimizing stress on the animals.

The mention of "Excellent veterinary care from Kevin, Ashley, and the whole staff" indicates that the quality of service extends beyond Dr. Keane to the entire team. This suggests a professional and supportive environment where clients can expect a high standard of care from all staff members they interact with. The "A+++++" rating given by one satisfied customer further underscores the exceptional quality of care provided.

Given the specialized nature of their practice in sports medicine for animals, it is less likely that Sports Medicine Associates of Chester County offers a full range of general veterinary services for all types of pets. Their focus likely caters to athletes, particularly horses, with specific expertise in musculoskeletal conditions and performance enhancement. Local users with general pet health concerns might need to seek care from a more general veterinary practice.

No specific promotional information for Sports Medicine Associates of Chester County is included in the provided data. Given their specialized services, their focus likely lies on providing expert care rather than offering broad promotions. However, it is possible that they may offer consultations or specific packages for performance evaluations or treatments. Local users interested in learning more about their services and any potential offers should contact the clinic directly at (610) 869-4000.

In conclusion, Sports Medicine Associates of Chester County in Cochranville, PA, appears to be a highly specialized Pet Hospital focusing on sports medicine for animals, with a strong emphasis on equine care. Dr. Keane is highlighted for his thorough, informative, and ethical approach to treatment, prioritizing the animal's well-being and less invasive methods. If you are a local user in Chester County with a performance animal, particularly a horse, experiencing lameness issues or in need of specialized sports medicine veterinary care, Sports Medicine Associates of Chester County comes highly recommended based on the available customer reviews. Contacting them directly at (610) 869-4000 would be the best way to learn more about their specific services and how they can assist your animal athlete.
