Took my kitty in who hates car rides and travel, but I was happy when I got in! Everyone was so sweet and calm, and the space is small. It wasn’t busy either, so no worries about him getting scared by other animals. They did a great job at getting him comfortable and the vaccines went better than I expected. Good prices and great service!

Welcome to Spencerport Country Veterinarian: Dr. Steven Aimi

Spencerport Country Veterinarian, under the dedicated leadership of Dr. Steven Aimi, is a full-service animal hospital located at 1835 N Union St, Spencerport, NY 14559, USA. This practice is deeply committed to providing comprehensive healthcare services to pets in Spencerport and the greater Rochester area, emphasizing a blend of friendliness and the latest advancements in veterinary medicine. Dr. Aimi, who graduated from Iowa State University's College of Veterinary Medicine in 2014, acquired the clinic in January 2020, bringing with him a passion for various aspects of veterinary care, including surgery and acupuncture.

The clinic has garnered significant praise from its clientele, reflecting its commitment to patient comfort and client support. One grateful pet owner shared their experience with a car-averse cat: "Took my kitty in who hates car rides and travel, but I was happy when I got in! Everyone was so sweet and calm, and the space is small. It wasn’t busy either, so no worries about him getting scared by other animals. They did a great job at getting him comfortable and the vaccines went better than I expected. Good prices and great service!" Another review highlights the clinic's exceptional compassion during a difficult time: "I cannot thank Dr. Steve enough for the thorough care, kindness and support during such a difficult time in my best friends last days. He relayed all reports in a timely fashion, and in great detail. He was so supportive at such a horrible time, and made the unbearable, bearable. The sympathy card with my girls paw print was unexpected and heartfelt. Thank you Dr. Steve." These testimonials underscore the clinic's dedication to both medical excellence and empathetic client service.

Environment

Spencerport Country Veterinarian places a strong emphasis on creating a comfortable and low-stress environment for its animal patients. A key feature mentioned is that the clinic is "Fear Free certified." This certification indicates that the staff is trained in techniques designed to reduce fear, anxiety, and stress in pets during their visits. While the specific layout isn't extensively detailed, the customer review mentioning the space being "small" and "not busy" suggests an intimate setting that likely contributes to a calmer experience, especially for animals easily stressed by crowded environments. The implementation of Fear Free principles often includes:

  • Calming colors and scents within the clinic.

  • Separate waiting areas for dogs and cats, or efficient systems to minimize interaction between different species.

  • Non-slip flooring and comfortable surfaces in examination rooms.

  • Use of treats and positive reinforcement during examinations and procedures.

  • A quiet atmosphere with minimal sudden noises.

  • Protocols for clients to call or text upon arrival, allowing staff to manage entry and ensure pets don't encounter other animals unnecessarily.

The overall aim is to make each visit as positive and stress-free as possible for the pet.

We have been going to this practice for a long time. I had followed Dr. Falchek through 2 office changes and was happy he had his own practice again. When he retired we saw Dr Kevin and very much liked him. He euthanized 2 of our dogs and was so caring and compassionate. We also saw Dr Lacey until she moved out of town. Now we see Dr Steve. He is different from Dr Lacey but I have found him to be very compassionate and he loves our Molly. He gets right on the floor and plays with her. We are happy there and very pleased that they will remain an independent practice and is not going to join a larger corporation. Thank you Dr Steve and staff.

Our dog is 13 years old and we have been taking him to Spencerport Country Vet since we got him. At the time, it was convenient since it was near where my dad worked. Over the past 13 years we have received good care, but it was recently when we got the best care… Two and a half months ago, our dog was real sick. He wouldn’t eat/drink, walk, and he was vomiting. He would just sleep in his bed all day. We were terrified that it was his time to go. They got us right in for an appointment. It turned out our dog had ended up having an abscess near his shoulder. Dr. Steve and Lindsay (technician) have taken the best care of our dog. He goes to them with no fear or hesitation. You can feel their compassion and care in what they’re doing. Not only did they make our dog feel better, but they also helped us feel better. Anytime we didn’t know if something was healing right or had a concern, they would get right back to us or get us right in. They were very prompt and efficient. I know Cameryn has answered many calls from me and been a great help too! I don’t normally write reviews for places, but this place, this team, this is something that deserves recognition. They brought our dog back to life and we will forever be grateful for that. There is no one else we would rather have taking care of our dog. Even if it is a drive for us now, we know he is in good hands. Thank you Dr. Steve, Lindsay and staff for all you do. We appreciate you more than you know.

Dr. Aimi and staff were all very helpful and understanding when my husband and I decided to put our dog, Ginger, to sleep. We received a beautiful card from them with footprints. She was very sick and they showed great care and consideration for her.
