The entire staff was very kind and knowledgeable. They handled my bird calmly and took their time to make sure he stayed as calm as possible. They answered all of our questions. I'm happy to find a veterinary office that specializes, I felt very comfortable that they knew what was going on and that they have the skill to treat the issue.

We have had our Coatimundi for 3 1/2 yrs. Specialized Care for Avian and Exotic Pets has always been his veterinary. We have never had any problems with any appointments in the past until recently. We were denied a visit and denied an emergency visit and were told to go to Cornell or some place in Ohio! This is absolutely absurd. We will NEVER bring any of our pets to this business again. Ignorant doctors.

We trusted Dr. Wade with our precious umbrella cockatoos for 7 years. If I could give a 0 star review I would. Our precious cockatoo Gabby wouldn’t eat much and was vomiting. So of course we immediately brought him to one of the best certified avian vets in NYS. He thought his name was “precious sweet soul” because that’s what I called him everyday. He was on my shoulder talking to staff and patients in the office and was NOT dying. She took him from me and he was screaming and so distraught as she toweled him to draw blood. He died 15 minutes later. We feel at fault for his demise for bringing him there for care. Necropsy says he died from a heart attact? We have no closure because Gabby was not dying when we brought him there for care. I am a Registered Nurse and worked many codes. This vet had no clue what she was doing when my Gabby was dying. I did send her an email about how heartbroken we are and that we blamed her for my Gabby’s death! We got a letter from her saying she wouldn’t care for our parrots anymore with records from our cockatoo Angelo. It was a blessing because we found a wonderful avian vet in Cleveland Ohio! I just wish I could go back in time and not bring Gabby to Dr. Wade. All I have to say, if you have happy healthy parrots, she would probably be fine. If they are sick…PLEASE don’t bring them here! We read your response to our review! Honestly, you are a poor excuse to care for beloved exotic parrots! Why would you towel a distraught parrot with an accelerated respiratory rate to draw labs SCREAMING that was dying? Just why???We didn’t mean that you were the best certified avian vet in NYS? Thats what the internet said? You told us that Gabby had a heart murmur 4 years ago? There are meds and follow up visits for that since you are such a wonderful and the smartest and very best avian vet….the very best???? Our Gabby was bit by our dog in April 2023…and we witnessed it, took him to you and you drew his blood and said he had cancer? It wasn’t until you put him under anesthesia and saw the broken bones and realized he bled internally! That was our 4th visit in 5 days! And he was put on the appropriate antibiotics 4 days later….seriously? He survived and was living his best life. That’s the truth. Just admit that you failed my precious Gabby! He was nothing to you, but such a precious sweet soul to us and we loved him so much, we would have done anything for him. He deserved so much better! I don’t care how many emails you had to read! You are only doing this job because people pay you because they trust you! You do not deserve any trust! You failed our Gabby! Gabby deserved so much better! You think we would ever bring our Angelo the cockatoo and our new rescue Oliver to your practice? Absolutely NEVER! We don’t trust you! You can convince yourself that you are wonderful at what you do? You can trash talk the people that trusted you with their feathered family members and paid you thousands for the best care. When we picked up Gabby’s ashes in your office, your secretary was digging through boxes to find Gabby? Made me sick. Took her over 10 minutes to find our Gabby? What does that say? Customers are always right! Btw….our wonderful avian vet in Ohio has 24/ 7 care! Yes…we can bring our parrots there ANYTIME! The staff is wonderful, funny, professional, the certified avian vet is the best! I just wish we took Gabby there, I just always trusted and loved Laura Wade. I was an idiot for trusting her. Wade’s staff barely answered the phone and when they did, I felt like i was bothering them and they were always so rude. This review is ONLY so no one makes the mistake that we did by bringing our precious parrots to Wade’s for exotic avian care! Just please don’t! Btw…we never sent a threatening email, if so please post
