May 03, 2025 · Sarah GarnerAfter having an emergency with my 3 year old cat, I had to drive 1 hour away to get him into a vet. After a long day of discussion about ways to treat my cat’s pleurisy, my cat had to stay overnight with an IV of antibiotics and fluids to keep him hydrated, I asked this new vet if she would be willing to call Southern and talk to the vet here to see if they could continue his care at their office so it would be easier on me and my cat. But when I called Southern the receptionist told me no and when I pressed and tried to articulate (not well but I was very upset over my very sick cat) what was wrong with my cat and how he needs urgent care, probably in the kennel with more IVs, I was told by the receptionist that they couldn’t know if they would have available appointments. Gatekeeping, since at no time did I even get to speak to the Dr. Nor were they willing to do anything further despite my pleas. A complete lack of empathy. I’ll never take my animals there again.

Sometimes it's difficult to get a sooner appointment rather than later on their schedule. The prices vary. I wish there was payment plans for this business. I would get my dog=cat seen more often if I could do payments with LITTLE interest. One negative thing i have to say is that they will tell you that they can empty your dogs anal glands AND/OR trim their nails but everything is ask it seems as if they forget the moment they bring my pet back into the back where they do tests and stuff. One good thing is that they have samples of like flea/tick medicine. Unfortunately, they didn't have any avaliable when I was there foe a 60lb dog.
