I recently had an unsatisfactory experience at this veterinary clinic, primarily due to a lack of effective communication. When presented with two testing options for my cat, both were extremely expensive. One would yield results in a few hours, while the less expensive option promised results in 24 hours, with the pancreas portion available the same day. My family had to choose the 24-hour method because it was all we could afford, even though it was still quite costly. I was assured that results would be available within 24 hours, with the pancreas test ready the same day. However, after waiting the promised 24 hours, I received no results and no calls. When I followed up, the staff member I spoke with was polite but made me feel dismissed, leaving me without any updates. At the 48-hour mark, I still hadn’t heard anything. Fortunately, my pet began to show signs of improvement during this wait. It wasn’t until I expressed my frustrations that I received a call from the doctor with the test results, roughly 50 hours after the tests were conducted. I understand my pet needed the testing, but clearer communication about the timeline would have been greatly appreciated. Knowing the actual wait time might have influenced my decision to proceed with the tests at all. The clinic made it seem like obtaining those results was a priority, emphasizing that timely information was crucial for his care. I believed that the faster we could get that information, the better we could help him. However, after they took my money, the sense of urgency seemed to evaporate. If they knew he could wait 50 hours for testing, that was not something they communicated to me. I genuinely feared for his well-being, thinking that quick results were his only hope for survival. Overall, I felt that once the clinic received my payment, my pet and I became less of a priority. A simple update, even just to inform me of delays, would have made a significant difference in my experience. While the staff was generally courteous, the doctor initially resisted my feedback, stating that results take 24-48 hours, which I was not informed of beforehand. Eventually, the doctor acknowledged that they could have handled communication better and would work on improving it in the future. They only offered us an apology, which in this day and age is more than most places probably would have provided, but I feel that offering a discount on the service or a future service might have been more appropriate. If they had offered a discount on a future service, it would have prompted me to give them another chance, and maybe the experience could have been better, leading me to believe that this was just a one-time oversight. Sadly, we will be looking for another veterinarian, as this clinic's high prices do not align with the level of service provided.

Southern Crossing Animal Hospital Introduce

Welcome to the introduction of Southern Crossing Animal Hospital, located at 614 Minor Rd, Memphis, TN 38111, USA. As a Pet Hospital serving the Memphis community, Southern Crossing Animal Hospital offers a range of veterinary services for your animal companions. You can reach them at (901) 452-3171 or their mobile number +1 901-452-3171 to inquire about their services and schedule appointments.

As a member of the Pet Hospital category, Southern Crossing Animal Hospital likely provides a standard array of veterinary medical services. While specific details about the hospital's environment are not extensively described in the provided reviews, it is reasonable to expect a facility equipped with examination rooms for consultations, diagnostic equipment (such as blood testing and imaging, although not explicitly mentioned), surgical suites for various procedures, and potentially recovery areas for animals staying for treatment. The positive review mentions complex surgeries being performed, indicating the presence of necessary surgical facilities and expertise. However, the negative review focuses on communication issues rather than the physical environment itself.

Based on the customer feedback, the services offered at Southern Crossing Animal Hospital appear to include routine check-ups, vaccinations (implied in the positive review), diagnostics (as evidenced by the ordered blood tests in the negative review), medical treatment for illnesses, and surgical procedures, including complex surgeries like tumor removal. The positive review highlights successful surgical outcomes and long-term care for chronic conditions like diabetes and adrenal tumors. It also mentions the compassionate support provided during end-of-life care. In contrast, the negative review details the process of ordering diagnostic tests for a cat, indicating that these services are offered, but raises concerns about the communication of timelines and the perceived lack of urgency after payment.

Southern Crossing Animal Hospital presents a mixed bag of features based on the two provided reviews. A significant positive feature highlighted by one customer is the exceptional care and compassion demonstrated by certain members of the staff, specifically mentioning Kyle and Dr. Taylor. Dr. Taylor is lauded for her knowledge, care, and "pure gold" heart, having provided years of care, including complex surgeries and support through chronic illnesses and pet loss. The reviewer also praises Dr. Nollner for building a team with a culture of compassion, knowledge, and love. This suggests that a key feature of the hospital, for some clients, is the dedicated and caring nature of its veterinary professionals and staff.

However, a significant negative feature raised by another customer is the lack of effective communication regarding test results and timelines. The experience described involves a considerable delay in receiving results, a feeling of being dismissed by staff, and a perceived lack of urgency after payment. This breakdown in communication led to frustration and a loss of trust. While the doctor eventually apologized and acknowledged the need for improvement, this negative experience highlights a potential area of concern for local users, particularly regarding transparency and timely updates on their pet's care.

The negative review also touches upon the pricing of services, describing the testing options as "extremely expensive" and the overall high prices as not aligning with the level of service received. This suggests that cost may be a significant factor for some clients, and the perceived value for money can be impacted by issues such as communication delays. The reviewer felt that a discount or future service offer might have been a more appropriate response to the unsatisfactory experience, indicating that financial considerations play a role in client satisfaction.

Currently, there is no specific promotional information available for Southern Crossing Animal Hospital in the provided text. Pet hospitals may occasionally offer introductory discounts for new clients or seasonal specials, but neither review mentions any such promotions. Local users interested in learning about potential discounts or special offers should contact the hospital directly.

In conclusion, Southern Crossing Animal Hospital in Memphis, TN, appears to offer dedicated veterinary care, with some clients reporting exceptional compassion and expertise, particularly from Dr. Taylor and the team fostered by Dr. Nollner. The positive review highlights successful treatments, complex surgeries, and heartfelt support during difficult times. However, another client experienced significant issues with communication regarding diagnostic test results, leading to frustration and a perception of high prices not being justified by the service received. This mixed feedback suggests that while some aspects of the hospital, particularly the compassionate care from certain individuals, are highly valued, there may be inconsistencies in communication and potentially higher costs. Local users should consider these contrasting experiences when deciding whether Southern Crossing Animal Hospital meets their needs and may want to inquire specifically about communication protocols and pricing during their initial contact.

Goodness. Where to start! Southern Crossing Animal Hospital is just amazing. The entire staff are truly amazing people. Kyle is always fantastic, taking the time to listen, explain and sometimes works miracles to get us in. Dr. Taylor is absolutely amazing. Her knowledge and care is unmatched. Her heart is pure gold. She has taken care of our babies for years. She's done everything from vaccinations to very complex surgeries for us. She removed a huge tumor and liver lobe on our boy Strider, which bought us another 18 months with him. She was there when i got my best girl, Peggy Sue. She diagnosed her with diabetes and finally an adrenal tumor. She was there when my Pegs took her last breath. The entire staff was there. The techs are top notch. Knowledgeable, compassionate. Dr. Nollner has truly built a team with a culture of compassion, knowledge and pure love. If you aren't a client of Southern Crossing, you should be.

We are beyond grateful for the exceptional care our beloved dog Biscuit received from the team at Southern Crossing Animal Hospital. They provided excellent ICU care and diagnostics. The referral to a specialist was managed seamlessly. Communication was incredible, always compassionate and never rushed. They did everything they could to save our dog's life. Ultimately, we had to say goodbye to our precious dog yesterday due to an aggressive cancer for which there was no good outcome. Dr. Nollner and Katelyn supported us through the experience, and their comfort felt like family. Thank you to the entire team for everything.

These people have been a strong foundation for Memphis culture and history. Decades of the best bedside manner and care I've ever seen. They went above and beyond today to help me through a difficult situation for me and my service dog, and when I say "they" I mean the entire team rallied to find a solution to my problems and worked with me to make sure I could still get my baby looked at. They're always reliable, kind, and willing to help anyone who cares about their pets regardless of age, gender, skin tone, etc. Dr. Taylor have such big hearts and a compassionate and loving vet tech and front desk staff. I can't thank you enough for what you've done for me. It's why y'all have been my favorite vet for the entirety of my animal's life. If you have no clue where to take your pet for care, now you do.

Dr. White is amazing. She treats my boy so well and it so patient. She listens to all concerns and treats accordingly. We are very lucky to have found her and the clinic. All the staff are great. They are kind, compassionate, and eager to help. My only regret is that being a military family we will not be able to keep them as our veterinary clinic long term. I truly wish we could pack them in our pocket and take them everywhere, then I would know Hamish is getting the best care at all times. This is the most important thing to my family. Thank you for being so great!
