The scheduling and the appointment itself went pretty well. The staff and the doctor were nice... until it was time to pay. While making an appointment I explained what the issue was. They told me it's going to be $75 and yet at the end of the appointment somehow I owned $ 525. Never once, during the appointment, the doctor brought it up or ask for consent to do this or that that will cost so much money. The worst thing he made it seem that it was my fault that I should've known that it's going to be this much money, He said "this is common knowledge"

This was a 5 star review but unfortunately with Dr. Meirhoffer retiring I can no longer say I love this place. The new vet doesn't seem to even like dogs. He also prescribes the more expensive option of medications. I ended up paying over $1000 for simple kennel cough.

Similarly to the other recent reviews, I used to love this office prior to Dr. Meihofer retiring. After almost a decade, I'm now looking for a new vet. Truthfully, I've never written a review like this, but I don't want any other pet owner to be misled or feel the same frustration. I understand the difficulty of owning a small business and had been trying to give this vet a chance. I know there's a need to increase prices, however there's a lack of transparency behind the costs. It has felt to me like the vet is looking for avenues to make as much money off of each visit. For example, we visited for a quick Cytopoint shot, which have to be done relatively often but are also now being billed with an undisclosed additional fee of $35-$55, depending on who administers the shot, the vet or the tech (which wasn't up to me either). Dr. Meihofer previously billed strictly for the medicine since the shot only takes a few seconds, isn't a regular exam, and is expensive on its own. The fee wouldn't have bothered me if it was communicated to me when I scheduled the appointment. Also, Dr. Meihofer had routinely recommended a recall of 3-4 months and now the current vet is pushing for every 6 weeks. Admittedly, I'm not a vet, however, this also felt like a red flag. In regards to medication, there had also been instances where the vet would ignore sending scripts when requested from Chewy, and instead I'd have to call to double down and ask to send the script to Chewy and/or he would try to convince me to purchase directly from their office. This only happened when requesting meds, and not for the prescription food (which Chewy also requests a script for each time). Dr. Meihofer was a gem and I hope retirement treats him well.

I have been getting my German shepherd treated for some issues and I am extremely happy with the care she is receiving. The dr explains everything in detail as to what he’s doing. The techs there are also amazing.
