**MUST READ** If I could leave 0 stars. I would. I took my brand new puppy here- trusting Dr. B would properly take a look at him. Nope. He threw away the fecal sample I provided. He said he was "saving me money" by giving him the vaccinations he did. Which, if he read the paperwork provided, that his front desk administrative employees also carelessly mislooked- resulted in them administering another distemper vaccination in which he had already had 5 days prior. I was only informed of this, when I brought my puppy to a different vet, where they informed me of this. I called this office, to inform them of what I found out. Their responses were disgusting, and I would never trust them with an animal that I love so dearly. So, I asked them to refund my charge... in which they did- but very sneakily recharged my account months later. I just noticed the "recharge" today- and they will be hearing from my lawyer. This is unlawful and sickening coming from the people who are supposed to know what they are doing.

Understanding the environment and facilities of a pet hospital is crucial for pet owners seeking reliable care. While specific details about the clinic's ambiance, waiting areas, examination rooms, and surgical suites are not provided in the given information, it is typical for a veterinary clinic to strive for a clean, comfortable, and reassuring environment for both pets and their owners. Modern veterinary clinics often feature well-equipped examination rooms to facilitate thorough check-ups and consultations. Depending on the scope of services offered, the clinic may also house surgical suites for various procedures, imaging equipment such as X-ray machines, and potentially in-house laboratory facilities for quick diagnostic tests. Pharmacies within the clinic allow for convenient dispensing of prescribed medications and other pet care products.
South River Veterinary Clinic likely offers a range of essential veterinary services to cater to the diverse health needs of pets in the community. These services commonly include routine wellness examinations and preventative care, which are vital for maintaining the long-term health of animals. Vaccinations against common diseases, parasite prevention (including fleas, ticks, and heartworms), and nutritional counseling often fall under this category. Early detection and proactive measures are key components of preventative care.
Beyond preventative care, the clinic would typically provide diagnostic services to identify and understand various health issues. This may involve physical examinations, laboratory testing of blood, urine, and fecal samples, as well as imaging techniques like radiography (X-rays) to visualize internal structures. These diagnostic tools help veterinarians accurately assess a pet's condition and formulate appropriate treatment plans.
For pets requiring medical intervention, South River Veterinary Clinic would offer medical treatments for a wide array of illnesses and conditions. This could involve administering medications, providing supportive care, and managing chronic diseases. Surgical services are also a fundamental aspect of many veterinary hospitals. These can range from routine procedures like spaying and neutering to more complex surgeries addressing various medical conditions. Anesthesia and pain management are critical components of surgical care, ensuring the comfort and safety of the animals.
Dental care is another significant aspect of pet health often provided by veterinary clinics. Services may include routine dental cleanings to prevent tartar buildup and periodontal disease, as well as more advanced dental procedures if needed. Skin and allergy care is also a common concern for pet owners, and veterinary clinics often offer diagnosis and treatment for various dermatological issues. Furthermore, specialized services might be available depending on the clinic's expertise and resources, such as geriatric care for senior pets, behavioral counseling, or nutritional management for specific health conditions.
Features that might distinguish South River Veterinary Clinic could include the experience and qualifications of their veterinary staff, the availability of advanced medical equipment, their approach to patient care, and their communication with pet owners. A strong emphasis on client education, ensuring that owners understand their pet's health issues and treatment options, is often a hallmark of a reputable veterinary practice. The clinic's commitment to providing compassionate and individualized care can also be a significant feature for pet owners.
However, it is essential to consider all available information when evaluating a veterinary clinic. The provided customer reviews offer some direct feedback from pet owners who have used the services of South River Veterinary Clinic. These reviews present a mixed picture. One review expresses severe dissatisfaction, citing concerns about misadministration of vaccinations, mishandling of samples, unprofessional responses from the office, and alleged unauthorized recharging of the customer's account. This reviewer strongly advises against trusting the clinic with pets.
Another review details issues with the diagnosis and treatment of a cat's over-grooming and itching, expressing frustration with the initial medication not working, the questioning of medication administration, and a delay in finding an effective solution. This reviewer also reports a significant flea infestation discovered shortly after a dental procedure at the clinic, raising concerns about potential transmission or lack of observation during the visit. The reviewer indicates a decision to seek veterinary care elsewhere in the future.
These reviews highlight potential areas of concern regarding the clinic's administrative processes, diagnostic accuracy, communication with clients, and attention to detail. While online reviews can provide valuable insights, it is important to remember that they represent individual experiences and may not be fully representative of the overall quality of care provided by South River Veterinary Clinic. However, the issues raised in these reviews warrant careful consideration for potential new clients.
Promotional information is not provided in the given text. Typically, a veterinary clinic might promote its services through various channels, such as their website, local advertising, or special offers for new clients or specific services like vaccination packages or dental health month discounts. They might also highlight specific areas of expertise or advanced technologies available at their facility.
In conclusion, South River Veterinary Clinic is a pet hospital located in South River, New Jersey, offering a range of veterinary services. Based on the limited information and the provided customer reviews, potential clients should be aware of the concerns raised regarding administrative issues, diagnostic processes, and customer service. It is advisable for pet owners to conduct thorough research, potentially seek additional reviews or testimonials, and consider visiting the clinic for a preliminary consultation to assess whether it meets their specific needs and expectations for their beloved animals. When choosing a veterinary care provider, factors such as the clinic's environment, the range and quality of services, the expertise and communication of the staff, and the overall reputation are all important aspects to consider.

Mar 07, 2025 · Angelique WoodMy cat was over grooming and itching. I went here with this problem. Was prescribed anti-allergic medication. When I reported it didn't work, they questioned if I gave that medication correctly and told me to give it longer. When it surely didn't work they prescribed another medication. The reception person also tried to convince me that grooming is normal and I am probably exaggerating. I also brought my cat here for the teeth care that was apparently done ok. But 1-2 weeks after, I discovered a major flea infestation of my cat (she is strictly indoors). I don't know if she got fleas at this vet clinic or had them before. I am disappointed, because I brought my cat to this clinic two times, the second time the vet could observe her for some time while doing the dental work and didn't notice the fleas. The vet also didn't ask me when I treated my cat for fleas last time and didn't recommend treating her for fleas before trying anti-allergic medication. My cat is doing much better after I applied a topical flea treatment, and hopefully that was the reason for excessive grooming. Next time I will go to a different vet.
Sep 11, 2024 · Maria IvanovaThe complete staff is awesome. They truly love the animals. My dogs actually enjoy going there. They always make sure that your pets are well taken care of.
Feb 13, 2025 · Glenn VignolaDr. Boulos and Andrea (vet tech), have always been so great with our furry family members. They took great care of my senior dog until her last day, showing nothing but compassion and kindness at every visit. After my dog passed away, I adopted a cat and once again, they are my number one choice for vet care. They also have taken care of my grandpuppy since she was a puppy. Highly recommend South River vet clinic and I refer new patients every chance I get.
Dec 14, 2024 · Vanessa CastroThe times for the appointments are very convenient for people who work full time. The staff is nice, the vet is very very experienced. Definitely not trying to scam, prices are nice for a family owned veterinary clinic.
