This attention to environment contributes significantly to a positive experience for all.

Comprehensive Veterinary Services

South Lake Veterinary Clinic offers an extensive range of services designed to cover all aspects of pet health, from infancy through their senior years. These services include, but are not limited to:

  • Routine Wellness Examinations: Regular check-ups are the cornerstone of preventative care. These examinations allow veterinarians to monitor your pet's overall health, identify potential issues early, and provide personalized advice on nutrition, exercise, and preventative measures.

  • Vaccinations: Tailored vaccination protocols are developed for each pet based on their lifestyle, age, and exposure risks, protecting them against common and serious diseases.

  • Heartworm and Parasite Testing & Prevention: With the prevalence of parasites, the clinic emphasizes routine testing and provides effective preventative medications to safeguard pets from heartworms, fleas, ticks, and intestinal parasites.

  • Illness and Injury Examinations: When pets are unwell or injured, the clinic offers thorough diagnostic assessments to accurately identify conditions and formulate appropriate, effective treatment plans.

  • Ophthalmological Evaluations: Specialized care for eye conditions ensures that pets maintain good vision and avoid discomfort or further complications.

  • Dermatology Testing and Treatment: Skin issues are common among pets. The clinic provides comprehensive diagnostic testing and treatment options for various dermatological problems, aiming to alleviate discomfort and improve skin health.

  • Surgical Services: South Lake Veterinary Clinic is equipped to perform a wide array of surgical procedures. This includes routine surgeries like spaying and neutering, which are crucial for population control and preventing certain health issues. Beyond routine procedures, they also handle a host of soft tissue surgeries such as foreign body removal from the gastrointestinal tract, lump removal and biopsy, and surgical intervention for bladder stones (cystotomy). While they handle many orthopedic surgeries, complex cases may be referred to specialized veterinary orthopedic surgeons. All surgeries are conducted in a sterile environment with the support of experienced veterinary nurses, emphasizing pain management and post-operative comfort to facilitate a smooth recovery.

  • Anesthesia Monitoring: Patient safety during any procedure requiring anesthesia is a paramount concern. The clinic utilizes sophisticated computerized monitoring systems to track vital signs including temperature, heart rate, blood pressure, blood oxygen levels, and ECG. This advanced monitoring is comparable to human anesthesia procedures, ensuring the highest level of safety and allowing the veterinary team to make informed decisions for each pet's well-being.

  • Emergency and Urgent Care: During operational hours, South Lake Veterinary Clinic is prepared to handle pet emergencies. While it's always advisable to call ahead in an emergency situation so the staff can prepare for your arrival and provide initial guidance, they strive to accommodate urgent care needs, fitting in pets between scheduled appointments when necessary.

Friendly service. Took our tabby cat in for spaying in the morning and picked up that afternoon. Glue instead of stitches. Cat is doing fine. Cost was only $60. Lots of products available as well for upkeep or as a gift for that animal lover in your life. Thank you South Lake.

Did a good job the first time my dog was injured, however upon returning she didn't even bother to examine my dogs entire leg and it is clear that his foot is swollen, I requested x rays of his hips and legs, she only did the hips, and treated his legs horribly during the x ray claiming this shouldn't hurt when he was very clearly whining from the pain. I feel as if I was charged for abusing my animal and then just told to medicate him, which after speaking with a few others it seems this experience isn't so uncommon. My dog is visibly upset with me and refuses to eat or let me pet him. Where as before even with his hurt leg, he was happy. Also marked my dog as unknown breed after reacting to my response like I made up a breed name simply bc she couldn't recognize it. You'd think with that not being my first time there someone could have easily done a Google search.
