Love Dr. Cisse and all the staff. They don’t push you to do anything that you’re not comfortable with. We’ve been customers for years. Three dogs and 1 cat. I feel like they always have my pets best interest in mind. They also seem to be cheaper than other vets.

The atmosphere at South Bellingham Veterinary Hospital is consistently described as welcoming and friendly. Clients frequently note that "everyone was really nice," indicating a positive and approachable demeanor from the entire team. This creates a comforting environment, which is especially important for pets who might be anxious during vet visits, as well as for their owners who may be concerned about their pet's health.

A distinctive feature highlighted by clients is the practice of examining pets while the owner is present in the room. This is particularly appreciated by pet owners, as it allows them to comfort their animal and actively participate in the examination process. This transparency builds trust and fosters a collaborative approach to pet healthcare, differentiating it from practices where pets are taken to a back room for examination. This open policy reinforces the hospital's commitment to prioritizing the pet's comfort and the owner's peace of mind.

Comprehensive Services and Features

South Bellingham Veterinary Hospital is a full-service animal hospital catering to small animals, primarily dogs and cats. Based on the client reviews and general expectations for a "Pet Hospital" of this nature, their services likely encompass:

  • Routine Exams and Preventative Care: This forms the cornerstone of pet health, including regular check-ups, vaccinations, parasite prevention, and wellness screenings to detect potential issues early.
  • Sick Visits and Diagnostics: For pets exhibiting symptoms of illness, the hospital provides diagnostic services to identify the root cause. This likely includes in-house laboratory testing (such as blood work, as mentioned by a client) and potentially digital X-rays to aid in diagnosis.
  • Dental Care: Comprehensive dental services, including cleanings, extractions, and oral health assessments, are vital for a pet's overall well-being.
  • Surgical Procedures: The hospital is equipped to perform various surgical interventions, ranging from routine spays and neuters to more complex soft tissue surgeries.
  • Client Education: A strong emphasis is placed on educating pet owners, ensuring they understand their pet's condition, treatment options, and at-home care instructions. This empowers owners to be active participants in their pet's health journey.
  • Patient-Centered Approach: A defining feature is their focus on the "pet's best interest." This translates into care that is tailored to the individual animal's needs and comfort levels, as evidenced by their patience with exams and avoidance of unnecessary interventions.
  • Non-Pushy Recommendations: Clients specifically appreciate that the hospital "don’t push you to do anything that you’re not comfortable with." This ethical approach builds significant trust, as pet owners feel their choices are respected and that advice is given with genuine concern for the pet, rather than commercial pressure.

The facility is equipped to handle a variety of medical, surgical, and dental needs for companion animals. The fact that they accept pets for "years" and for multiple animals (three dogs and one cat, in one review) indicates their capacity for long-term care and managing diverse animal needs, reinforcing their role as a trusted family vet.

This place was great. Everyone was really nice. They examined my dog while I was still in the room which I think is not typical. I was able to comfort my dog and help them with the exam. They took the time to. explain my dog's blood work. They let me know what my options were and I feel like we planned a course of action together. Very informative, polite and professional. I highly recommend this clinic.

My visit was on 12/27/21. I brought my cat in for an exam and a good checkup. She was under the weather. I was happy to hear that my little buddy was in tip top shape except for an infection, and after four days of medicine, my old Gooby is getting back to her normal self. Sneezing, coughing and wheezing fits have all subsided and she can breath again! Thank you! Daryl and Cat

They do great with my sheepadoodle dozer. He's high anxiety high energy. He gets the best care quickly. He's had front canine surgery and healed in less than a week and checked him over after 3 days to be sure it was healing. My whole family takes their dogs here. Highly recommend !

I thought I had found a clinic that doesn’t care about my dogs as time goes by I realize they don’t give a damn at all to my dogs, all they want is to make money on the top of my dog suffering, which is so disgraceful 😔 the reason I don’t recommend anybody to go to this place is The last time I took my dog for a urine track Infections I asked how much it was gonna cost for the treatment they said $340 and the final bill was $790 And I had to find a way to pay them so my dog could get the care… on the top of that amount, he wanted to do a surgery right away so he could make more money off it. He didn’t care that the medication he prescribed Did not work. I am moving both of my dogs to a place that cares!!!
