UPDATE!! Dr. Ken, didn’t get penalized for any of his actions… this is so sad ultimately he got away with malpractice & murdering my dog. Don’t do business with this Vet, what so ever! My dog died to due to malpractice… her vitals were normal & healthy she had so many years more to give to me yet she was taken away from me. Her name is Miku, she was a rescued dog nothing was wrong with her until 2/27/24 she was given a shot in her upper back & given a lot of different medications! When I called because ever since the shot & medications it made my dog lethargic, breathing heavy, loss of appetite, just in general zoned out like a zombie. Dr. Ken, said it was normal… which was not the case! The thing that boggles me is one of the medication he made me drive back to swap it out & on the label of the meds didn’t have the mg or on the pill & I even asked him how much to give to my dog after the meds were given I heard a loud scream. My dog was dying right then & there I tried to give her CPR but sadly she died in my arms. The thing that boggles me is that this facility is still open even with four other incidents that happened here! Look at the other reviews other animals died due to their negligence.

Shorewood Animal Hospital Introduce

Welcome to Shorewood Animal Hospital, located at 504 Brook Forest Ave, Shorewood, IL 60404, USA. Shorewood Animal Hospital aims to provide veterinary services to the pet owners of Shorewood and the surrounding areas. The limited information available consists of a few customer reviews that present significantly contrasting experiences, which potential clients should carefully consider.

The available customer reviews paint a complex picture of the environment and care at Shorewood Animal Hospital. One review expresses profound grief and alleges malpractice by a Dr. Ken, stating that their dog, Miku, died shortly after receiving an injection and medications at the clinic. This review details a rapid decline in the dog's health following the treatment, communication issues with Dr. Ken, and the traumatic experience of the dog's death. The reviewer strongly advises against doing business with the vet, citing this incident and mentioning other alleged negative incidents at the facility. This paints a picture of a potentially unsafe environment with serious concerns about the standard of care.

In stark contrast, another review expresses deep gratitude to Dr. Robinson and the staff for their compassionate handling of the euthanasia of their dog, Dexter. This long-term client of 15 years specifically praises the comfort and peace provided during their pet's final moments, recommending Shorewood Animal Hospital to others seeking a "good vet." This suggests that at least some members of the staff are perceived as caring and supportive, particularly in sensitive situations like end-of-life care. However, the severe allegations in the other review cannot be ignored when assessing the overall environment and trustworthiness of the hospital.

Based on the limited information, it is challenging to definitively outline the full range of services offered at Shorewood Animal Hospital. However, drawing inferences from the positive review and the general nature of a pet hospital, the services likely include:

  • Euthanasia Services: The positive review explicitly praises the compassionate and peaceful manner in which the staff handled the euthanasia of a beloved pet. This indicates that end-of-life care is a service offered, with at least some staff members demonstrating empathy and support during this difficult time.
  • General Veterinary Care: As a functioning animal hospital, Shorewood Animal Hospital likely offers a range of general veterinary services, including wellness examinations, vaccinations, parasite prevention, and treatment for various illnesses and injuries. The negative review mentions the administration of an injection and medications, implying that medical treatments are part of their services.
  • Diagnostic Services: To diagnose medical conditions, the hospital would likely have some diagnostic capabilities, such as laboratory testing or imaging (like X-rays), although the reviews do not provide specifics.
  • Potential for Surgical and Dental Services: While not explicitly mentioned, it is common for animal hospitals to offer surgical procedures (from routine to more complex) and dental care services, including cleanings and extractions. However, there is no direct evidence of these services in the provided reviews.

A significant feature highlighted in one review is the compassionate and supportive approach to end-of-life care, specifically attributed to Dr. Robinson and the staff involved in that experience. This suggests that the hospital may have a focus on providing comfort and dignity during euthanasia, which can be a crucial factor for pet owners facing this difficult decision.

However, a severely concerning feature, detailed in the other review, is the allegation of malpractice leading to the death of a pet. The specific claims of misdiagnosis, improper medication administration, and a dismissive attitude towards the pet's deteriorating condition are extremely serious. The reviewer's statement about other alleged negative incidents and their warning against using this vet due to a lack of trust raises significant red flags about the potential quality and safety of care at Shorewood Animal Hospital. The stark contrast between the two reviews makes it difficult to ascertain the typical standard of care.

Currently, there is no promotional information available in the provided text. For local users in Shorewood, IL, and the surrounding areas, Shorewood Animal Hospital presents a situation with highly conflicting feedback. While one long-term client praises the compassionate end-of-life care, another pet owner makes grave allegations of malpractice and negligence resulting in their pet's death, advising others to avoid the clinic. Potential clients must carefully weigh these drastically different experiences and consider seeking further information or alternative veterinary care options before making a decision. Given the seriousness of the malpractice allegations and the strong warning from one reviewer, proceeding with caution and seeking additional opinions may be advisable.

In conclusion, Shorewood Animal Hospital in Shorewood, IL, offers veterinary services, including compassionate end-of-life care as highlighted by one positive review. However, it is also the subject of a serious allegation of malpractice and negligence resulting in a pet's death, as detailed in a negative review that strongly advises against using the facility. Potential clients in the Shorewood area must consider this highly conflicting information and exercise extreme caution. It would be prudent to seek further information, investigate the alleged incidents if possible, and consider alternative veterinary care providers to ensure the safety and well-being of their pets. Contacting Shorewood Animal Hospital at (815) 744-2082 or +1 815-744-2082 for more information may be a first step, but thorough due diligence is strongly recommended given the severity of the negative feedback.

I have so much to say about Dr Robinson and the staff of Shorewood Animal Hospital. But I would just like to say thank you for the way you made me and my family feel when it was time to take my baby boy Dexter down. I’ve been bringing my fur-babies here for 15 years and at the moment of comfort they made my dog’s transition so peaceful. I know he’s at a better place. Thank you all and I recommend anyone that’s looking for a good vet to please come here

Dr. Robinson and the entire staff have been wonderful in my cat's exam, vaccination, nail trim and releated grooming services. They also do a great job educating me on the best way of caring for my pets

We love this animal hospital! The staff are all very nice and accommodating. The doctor we saw was very down to earth and honest. You can tell he has been practicing a long time and actually cared about my dog and not just running diagnostics for the heck of it. I would take this practice over any corporate vet any day!! We will always bring our dogs here!!
