Man, this place is quite the place. They give your pup a shot and don't tell you anything about reactions to expect. No one seems to know what's going on with anything when we have visited and they just tried to bait and switch us on a service charge. 3 times the quote we got when we made the appointment. This is not a good place and there are so many more options. Do yourself and your loved one (pet) a favor and go to somewhere else.

Really great service and very great stuff and Dr. Vardi is the best and very caring vet I met I couldn't be more thankful.... I brought my sunny to get neutered and the poor thing was just a little out of it when I came to get him but that's normal since he just had a procedure now he is completely healed and happy as well as I am for finding shelter veterinary they were really nice and also very throughout when explaining the at home care after the visit gave me in depth details about the medications to give my kitty very well explained they couldn't have told us any clearer so I do recommend them. I will be coming back soon to get sunny's mama fixed along with his sisters. :-) keep the great work Shelter veterinary!!!

Been going 2 Shelter Vet 4 years & I like Dr Vardi & most of the staff, though it’s messed me up financially. It’s not their fault my cats have health issues, it’s just when every visit ends up being a minimum of 1k & more like 2k / I have to go every few months it’s a lot. I did everything 2 keep my Littles from dying. I spent close to 10k only 4 him 2 die anyway in a couple days. It was horrible & traumatic. The process from shelter vet 2 them telling me 2 go 2 an ER th@ pushed me 2 put him down & she did it while he was trying 2 get into my arms so he collapsed (she didn’t even wait for him 2 get 2 me.. I won’t ever forget that) 2 the cremation place th@ they partner w/ who presented him 2 me in an unnatural pose where his legs were stuck out in crazy directions from him dying th@ way (they didn’t even make sure he looked peaceful or anything) etc. it was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. (Not saying that’s all their fault) But after that it felt like they kinda got Ill do anything Im at all able 2 help my cats (although I have chronic illness myself & have 2 be on a very low fixed income atm because of it). thats when every bill from Shelter Vet started being up 2 2k. Coincidence? Sure maybe, but either way it became 2 much. So I asked them if they could help me by referring me 2 some organizations th@ help ppl like me pay 4 my companion animals bills. But they refused saying I have 2 refer myself. Well most of them don’t work th@ way making it impossible 4 me. I was at a loss of what 2 do. But the final straw was the new manager. Im sure she’s a decent person but I wouldn’t know because every interaction I’ve had with her she is either fake smiley but patronizing as heck mixed with sarcasm or shes straight up argumentative b4 she even has the facts. For instance I called 2 pay over the phone (like I did a lot & was told to do when I was able) 4 my cats meds. She immediately said I had 2 have another appt if I wanted my meds & that she wouldnt process it over the phone. I tried 2 explain th@ I already had this arranged but she kept arguing w/ me until I got anxious because I was super ill & couldn’t come in 4 yet another expensive doctors visit, especially when this had already been approved. She finally gets what I’m saying but instead of apologizing or at least owning th@ she was wrong, she instead told me I didn’t say it right so it was my fault. Thats how she is each time we speak. She will immediately cut me off & shut me down only 2 realize a lot of the time I knew what I was saying & she just didnt listen. But never once has she taken an ounce of responsibility 4 this. Im looking for a new vet because of the things mentioned (I found a low cost clinic but still looking 4 a full vet) which is a shame. Today I called 2 ask a question about billing of the meds I got & the moment she knew who I was she was rude. I said “hi there I have a question” & she cut me off & said “oh Do you have a question? Is it about something or some service in the past because didn’t you get a new vet??
” she kinda rambled on 4 a sec & trailed off. What is that? I told her I actually don’t have a full vet yet because I’m hospitalized atm & she was like “OH NO! well let’s hope you’re okay” which came across very sarcastic but I could just be sensitive since she had just ran over me when I just said I needed 2 ask something. I asked my question, she said no (I knew she would, she never said yes to anything without a struggle), I thanked her & hung up. It’s been a bad time for awhile now & I wasn’t going 2 say anything since I was moving on, but her last little jab just really was the last straw 4 me. So even though I was very happy to have Dr Vardi as a Dr 4 the time I did, the unwillingness 2 fill out some paper work so I could get help & being talked down 2 by the management every time I reach out makes this kinda out of my hands at this point. PS we worked it out. Still way 2 much $ 4 me but I guess w/ no insurance/older babies, it’s going to cost you your soul to try and keep them alive in this town. What can you do..

If I could go negative stars I would. I adopted the most beautiful sweet French Bulldog from the shelter but had to have her fixed before we could take her home. Ok fine the shelter sets this up with this establishment so ok let's do it. I get a call before the procedure that they recommend I do blood work and other things coming out to almost $400 in unexpected fees. I unfortunately had to pass because I did not have these funds at this time but they assured me everything would be ok and I would be able to pick my dog up at 4pm. I get a call at 2 pm stating they are very sorry but my dog did not survive the procedure but if I had paid the nearly $400 that would have provided them the info to use different anesthesia or something. Basically saying she may have survived if I paid the money. These dogs are known to have breathing issues during anesthesia that require extra attention during surgeries but I guess they didn't account for this. The fact they blamed me for not paying for blood work as the root cause of the death of this beautiful animal is just beyond all that is reasonable and ethical. DO NOT TAKE YOUR FRENCHIE HERE. DEATH WAS THE OUTCOME FOR US. My family has been completely traumatized by the actions of this vet.
