Dr. Behin was extremely patient with me and answered all of my questions. Not sure if we alll have this concern or not, but that feeling of worrying that a vet is judging your pet parenting at an appt is so uncomfortable… I didn’t feel this at all. She truly was so kind and understanding. She even made sure to send me home with physical copies of the things i needed to purchase, as well as clearly gave me a visual demo and Verbal instructions so there wouldn’t be any mix ups or concern later if the office was closed and i had questions. It seemed to be a calm and easy appt for my cat as well. Truly a wonderful experience. Thank you Dr. Behin and Shatto! 🫶🏼😸

Welcome to Shatto Veterinary Center
Welcome, pet owners of Los Angeles! If you're searching for a dedicated and comprehensive pet care facility in your neighborhood, look no further than Shatto Veterinary Center. Situated at 3130 W 6th St, Los Angeles, CA 90020, USA, Shatto Veterinary Center operates as a full-fledged Pet Hospital, providing a wide array of services and goods to cater to the health and well-being of your beloved animal companions. You can easily reach them at (213) 352-1252 or their mobile number, +1 213-352-1252.
As a local Pet Hospital, Shatto Veterinary Center aims to be more than just a place for medical check-ups. It strives to be a supportive partner in your pet parenting journey. While specific details about the clinic's ambiance and facilities aren't explicitly mentioned online, the focus on patient care and communication evident in some customer reviews suggests a comfortable and professional environment. The availability of an in-house pharmacy further streamlines the process of obtaining necessary medications and supplies for your pet, adding to the convenience for local users.
The core function of Shatto Veterinary Center as a Pet Hospital is to offer a broad spectrum of veterinary services. Based on the limited information available, these services include routine check-ups, diagnosis and treatment of illnesses (such as ear infections), dental care (including teeth cleaning under anesthesia), and potentially surgical procedures (like the removal of bumps). The mention of examining a senior dog indicates experience in geriatric pet care, addressing the specific needs of older animals. The ability to provide both physical copies of information and verbal/visual instructions about medications and aftercare, as highlighted in one positive review, showcases a commitment to clear communication and patient education.
One of the standout features, as praised by a customer, is the patient and understanding approach of at least one of the veterinarians, Dr. Behin. This positive feedback emphasizes a crucial aspect of veterinary care: making pet owners feel comfortable and heard, without any judgment regarding their pet parenting. Dr. Behin's thoroughness in answering questions and providing clear instructions, both written and demonstrated, underscores a commitment to ensuring pet owners are well-equipped to care for their animals at home. This personalized attention can significantly contribute to a positive and stress-free experience for both the pet and the owner.
However, it's important to present a balanced view based on all available information. Another customer shared a deeply negative experience involving a different veterinarian, Vet Haynoush Ohanian. This review raises serious concerns about communication, listening skills, and respect for the owner's decisions regarding their pet's treatment. The account details a situation where a requested procedure (waiting for anesthesia before treating a bump) was allegedly ignored, leading to an unwanted open wound and a perceived lack of accountability from the veterinarian. This negative experience highlights the potential for variability in individual interactions and the importance of clear and respectful communication between pet owners and veterinary professionals.
The contrasting reviews illustrate the complexity of evaluating a service-based business. While one customer lauded the kindness and thoroughness of Dr. Behin, the other reported feeling unheard and mistreated by Dr. Ohanian. This suggests that while Shatto Veterinary Center may have positive aspects and a generally favorable reputation (as indicated by potentially numerous good reviews on external platforms like Google, although not directly provided here), individual experiences can differ significantly based on the specific veterinarian and interaction.
Considering the platform category is "Pet Hospital," users can expect Shatto Veterinary Center to provide medical care, diagnostics, and treatments for various animal health issues. The presence of an in-house pharmacy means that prescriptions can likely be filled on-site, saving pet owners a separate trip. The services appear to range from routine wellness checks to addressing specific medical conditions and potentially surgical interventions. For local users, having a Pet Hospital with an integrated pharmacy offers convenience and a centralized location for their pet's healthcare needs.
Regarding promotional information, there isn't any specific promotional content available in the provided text. However, the positive review mentioning Dr. Behin's excellent patient care could be considered an indirect promotion, highlighting a key strength of the clinic – compassionate and communicative veterinary professionals. Conversely, the negative review serves as a cautionary note, emphasizing the need for consistent quality of care across all practitioners within the facility.
In conclusion, Shatto Veterinary Center, located in Los Angeles, operates as a Pet Hospital with an on-site pharmacy. It aims to provide a range of veterinary services for local pet owners. While some customers have reported positive experiences characterized by patient and thorough care, particularly with Dr. Behin, others have had significantly negative experiences, raising concerns about communication and adherence to owner requests. As with any service provider, it is advisable for potential clients to consider all available feedback and perhaps contact the clinic directly to discuss their specific needs and expectations. Local users seeking a comprehensive pet care facility with the convenience of an in-house pharmacy may find Shatto Veterinary Center a viable option, but should be mindful of the varying experiences reported by other pet owners.

Apr 10, 2025 · N PI had a terrible experience today at Shatto Vet Hospital, with Vet Haynoush Ohanian. I brought my senior dog Coco in to be treated for an ear infection and a bump on her neck, and to examine her teeth. The vet says she will need to do teeth cleaning under anesthesia, and that we can remove the bump and take care of all the other issues at once. So I tell her OK we will only treat the ear infection today, and wait to do everything else under anesthesia. The bump on her neck had popped and gotten tangle with fur so I did not want there to be any treatment or removal without anesthesia, and I said so, multiple times. The vet completely ignored what I said and proceed to shave the bump anyways, causing there to be an open wound as a result. She then tries to say all kinds of things as an excuse and shrug it off to simple miscommunication. The vet here did not listen to me, and tried to make it seem like I was the one who miscommunicated - when in fact I repeated myself clearly multiple times throughout the exam. I respect a vet’s expertise but she performed a treatment that I told her NOT TO DO. And then tried to shrug that off. Dr Ohanian did not take accountability for her actions, or even seem to see what she did as a mistake. Even if intentions were pure, I have every right to request that we wait for a treatment until my dog is under anesthesia, especially since there is another issue that she would have to be under anesthesia for anyways. That is my right, and this doctor Ohanian made it seem like my right to direct the process of the treatment of my dog is not a big deal. She didn’t respect that at all, and continuously said, “it’s not a big deal.” This vet hospital may have a lot of good reviews on Google, but it only takes one vet to ruin an entire experience. At the end, I told them I’m not leaving here paying this full bill and an open wound on my dog that wasn’t there before. It took pulling an arm and a leg for the office to show me any kind of apology or remorse thru deducting a $40 exam fee. There was only ONE person there who acknowledged what happened and that I had every right to be upset with them. Everyone else pretended like nothing was wrong. That’s not how you treat someone that has been mistreated. Thank you to that one doctor. You’re the only one there that seemed to have any empathy at all. Yeah. Really stressful and sad experience here. It was so upsetting.
Mar 27, 2025 · Jamie HyunI’m so happy with the care my puppy gets at this clinic. Every time I visit, the team is so friendly and helpful, always making sure all my questions are answered and my pup is well taken care of. The front desk staff is amazing, and the doctors are fantastic too. I’m truly grateful for everything you all do! Thank you so much!
Feb 04, 2025 · Jennifer TellesUpdated Review: I will no longer bring my dogs to this Vet. It appears that the vet is more focused on adding unnecessary charges to the bill than addressing the actual reason for my visit. I was surprised to find additional diagnostic components on the invoice that I had not requested. Despite receiving two injections, my dog's skin issue continues. Unfortunately, I will have to find a new vet. I have been a client since the Shatto vet opened, but it has changed and no longer meets our needs. Review: I had an incredible experience at Shatto Veterinary Center. The staff displayed exceptional care and compassion from the moment I walked in, making me and my pet feel welcomed and valued. The facility was clean and modern, providing a comfortable environment. The veterinarians were knowledgeable, attentive, and took the time to thoroughly address all of my concerns. Their love for animals was evident in their approach, going above and beyond to ensure my pet's well-being. I highly recommend Shatto Veterinary Center for their outstanding service and dedication to providing top-notch veterinary care with a personal touch
Jan 14, 2025 · Jun CI used to love this place a lot with Dr Sung, but the problem is Dr need to know what's going on outside. A receptionist, no smile at all with horrable attitude. I just adopted a puppy, so I did not have a vaccination card, but I just know when she got first vaccination with previous owner,so I told her, but a angry (I have no Idea why she upset, of course, I do not want to know) receptionist told me without kindness "if you don't have vaccination card there's no Dr will be do any services for your dog" and also she is treating me for late, eventhough I called her, I am on the way, but there is a lot of traffic than she said "you have 10 mind grace period! After that we are not going to care" luckily I rushed so could arrive exactly 10 mins, but since I did not have previous owners vaccination card, so I couldn't give my puppy vaccination at all. I got kicked out hahaha what the.....f. I do not want to ruch like this way naver ever under that ridiculous attitude receptionist's pressure. what if I got car accident because of them? Not worth right? I feel like I am visiting Amy duty service. Previous all the staff were so nice and kind all the time with smile. where are they? I miss them so much. I am so disappointed why Dr. Sung put that kind of personality receptionist on front. Is it your rule or store policy 10mins grace period with attitude? Make customers feel guilty? I want to know.
