I almost hate to leave a great review because I want to keep Dr Wallace a secret. But she is fantastic. She has helped my pet turkeys a couple of times, both with unexpected success. She put Gravy (my tom) perfectly back together after a fox attack and even saved Cranberry's (turkey hen) damaged eye. I'm a little far out of town and Dr W came when others wouldn't. I can't say enough.

Welcome to Scenic City Veterinary Services
Scenic City Veterinary Services, located at 865 Rhea County Hwy, Dayton, TN 37321, USA, is a dedicated veterinary practice committed to providing exceptional care for pets in the Scenic City and surrounding communities. Unlike a traditional brick-and-mortar "Pet Hospital" in the conventional sense, Scenic City Veterinary Services distinguishes itself by primarily operating as a mobile veterinary service. This unique approach prioritizes convenience and minimizes stress for both pets and their owners, allowing animals to receive high-quality medical attention in the familiar and comfortable environment of their own home or barn.
The primary "environment" of Scenic City Veterinary Services is the pet's own dwelling. This mobile model is a significant departure from the typical sterile, often anxiety-inducing atmosphere of a conventional veterinary clinic. For many pets, especially those who experience stress or fear during car rides or in unfamiliar clinical settings, a house call can dramatically reduce anxiety, leading to a more relaxed and effective examination. This is particularly beneficial for elderly or mobility-impaired pets who may find travel difficult and uncomfortable. Additionally, for households with multiple pets, a mobile service can be an incredibly convenient solution, eliminating the logistical challenges of transporting several animals to a clinic simultaneously. This personalized approach fosters a calm and reassuring atmosphere, allowing the veterinary team to observe the pet in its natural surroundings, which can sometimes aid in diagnosis and treatment planning.
Scenic City Veterinary Services offers a broad spectrum of veterinary services, comparable to many traditional clinics, all delivered with the added benefit of in-home convenience. Their commitment is to ensure pets have long, healthy lives, and they are prepared to assist when pets are not feeling well. The services include, but are not limited to:
- Routine Care and Vaccinations: Essential for preventive health, including thorough wellness exams to assess overall health and address any concerns. This also includes administering vaccinations against common illnesses such as rabies and distemper.
- In-House Diagnostics: While detailed diagnostics requiring specialized equipment might necessitate a follow-up at a partner facility, many initial diagnostic tests can be performed on-site.
- Digital Coggins: Important for equine health, offering efficient and accurate Coggins testing.
- Lameness Examinations: Crucial for diagnosing and addressing musculoskeletal issues in animals.
- Dental Care: Regular dental cleanings are important for maintaining a pet's oral health and overall well-being.
- Reproductive Medicine: Services tailored to the reproductive health of animals.
- Field Surgery: Certain surgical procedures can be performed in the field, offering convenience for larger animals or specific situations.
- Emergency Medicine: While not a 24/7 emergency hospital, they can often provide initial assessment and care for urgent situations.
- Alternative Medicine: Exploring various treatment options to best suit the individual needs of each pet.
- Small Animal Services: A comprehensive range of services catering to the health and well-being of dogs and cats.
Scenic City Veterinary Services works in partnership with Sequoyah Animal Hospital for more advanced diagnostics, such as X-rays or ultrasounds, or specialized treatments that require clinic equipment. This collaborative approach ensures that pets receive comprehensive and continuous care, whether at home or in a clinic setting.
A standout feature of Scenic City Veterinary Services is their highly personalized and compassionate approach. This is evident in the glowing customer reviews. Dr. Wallace, a key veterinarian, is highly praised for her expertise and dedication, even in challenging situations. For instance, one reviewer highlighted Dr. Wallace's success in treating pet turkeys after a fox attack, putting "Gravy (my tom) perfectly back together" and saving "Cranberry's (turkey hen) damaged eye." This demonstrates a willingness to go above and beyond, extending care to a variety of animals and achieving unexpected positive outcomes.
The emphasis on house calls is a core feature, making veterinary care accessible to those in more remote areas or for pets with specific needs. The team, including Sarah and Linda, is consistently described as "awesome," "very helpful and genial," and immediately great with pets. This reflects a deep understanding of animal behavior and a commitment to creating a positive experience during veterinary visits. The sentiment of finding them to be "so relieving to know they're out there and available" underscores the value of their mobile service, especially for those who have struggled to find house call vets in the past.
The practice believes strongly in the bond between owners and their pets, striving to ensure patients have long and healthy lives. They are dedicated to continuous learning and staying up-to-date with the newest advances in veterinary medicine. Their friendly and knowledgeable staff treats every client "as though they were family" and every pet "as if they were our own," fostering a trusting and supportive relationship with pet owners.
Scenic City Veterinary Services actively encourages potential clients to reach out with any questions or concerns regarding their pet's health and well-being. They can be contacted by phone at (423) 818-3276 or via their mobile phone number +1 423-818-3276. They are also responsive to online inquiries, allowing clients to send messages through their website. The practice emphasizes convenience, including the ability to receive SMS text messages for appointment reminders, marketing messages, and general two-way communication, provided consent is given. While specific ongoing promotions are not detailed, their commitment to providing exceptional care and a stress-free experience can be considered a significant value proposition and a form of continuous promotion. They do have a "Veterinary Specials" page on their website, which would be the place to look for current offers or discounts.
In summary, Scenic City Veterinary Services, functioning as a mobile Pet Hospital, offers a modern and compassionate approach to veterinary care in Dayton, TN. By bringing services directly to the pet's home, they address common challenges associated with traditional clinic visits, ensuring a comfortable and effective experience for both pets and their devoted owners. May 19, 2021 路 Kerri SpicerHorribly misdiagnosed my horse. I would only use for shots and coggins! Very very nice I just think they need a few more years under their belt with equines.
Dec 06, 2023 路 Meagan BryantThe vet Dr Wallace has a heart..they should but they don't work a schedual or even normal times...they work every other day and never a day when someone needs things.
