Dr Lang and the team there has been very good to me and my dog, m Mocha. He is attentive, sympathetic, knowledgeable and a great veterinarian for my beloved dog who is getting old and suffering ailments. I am very confident and satisfied with the care provided to my pet, and to myself by the entire staff. The establishment seems better than it ever was in the past and in a very good way. I would recommend Dr Lang and the staff there to anyone I know. The only downfall would be it can be a little pricey, depending on what services your animal needs. But vet care is expensive. It used to be you only paid one 100$ office visit a year , then just paid what services were rendered. Now there's office visit charges each time. That said, Other vets will bleed you dry, even when it's not necessary. Here they take everything into account (the dogs age, benefit risk ratio, etc), the service is good and I feel my ped is being taken care of. Most importantly! Thank you Dr Lang and saugerties animal hospital for your dedication to our pets! Keep up the awesome work. 馃惄 馃憦 Warmest wags 鈽猴笍 Irene and Mocha Shocklee

Saugerties Animal Hospital Introduce

Saugerties Animal Hospital, located at 163 Ulster Ave, Saugerties, NY 12477, USA, operates as a comprehensive "Pet Hospital" serving the Saugerties community and surrounding areas. This facility has a long-standing presence, with some clients bringing their pets there for over 20 years, indicating a history of trusted care. Under what appears to be new management or ownership, the hospital is navigating changes while continuing to provide essential veterinary services for beloved companion animals.

The services offered at Saugerties Animal Hospital are broad, catering to the diverse health needs of pets throughout their lives. Their core offerings include general **veterinary care and wellness exams**, crucial for preventative health and early detection of ailments. As highlighted by a client with an aging dog, they provide dedicated care for **senior pets suffering from various ailments**, focusing on managing chronic conditions and improving quality of life. This includes attentive and sympathetic consideration of the pet's age and overall health when determining treatment plans. While specific details on advanced diagnostics are not outlined, the provision of comprehensive care for aging pets and the mention of considering "benefit-risk ratio" in treatment decisions suggest the availability of necessary diagnostic tools and a thoughtful approach to complex cases. They are equipped to address various health concerns that arise, aiming to provide solutions that are in the best interest of the animal.

Beyond routine check-ups, the hospital provides treatments for various conditions and likely offers surgical services for common procedures, as is standard for a full-service animal hospital. Their approach to medical intervention is characterized by careful consideration, ensuring that services rendered are necessary and beneficial for the pet. This contrasts with experiences at other clinics where clients might feel pressured into unnecessary procedures. The emphasis on dedicated care for pets, even when dealing with "ailments" common in older animals, points to a robust medical capability to address a wide range of conditions. Although not explicitly detailed in the provided information, a comprehensive animal hospital typically offers vaccinations, parasite control, and potentially dental care, all vital components of preventative and ongoing pet health management. Their ability to manage acute and chronic conditions underscores their role as a primary care provider for pets in the region.

The environment at Saugerties Animal Hospital has recently undergone changes, as indicated by customer reviews mentioning new ownership or management. Despite these transitions, the core sentiment regarding the staff's demeanor remains positive. Clients describe the environment as one where they feel confident and satisfied with the care provided to their pets, and to themselves by the "entire staff." The staff are consistently praised for being "amazing," "always kind and caring," and demonstrating "dedication to our pets." This suggests a professional yet empathetic atmosphere where pets are treated with love and attention. While specific details about the physical aesthetic of the facility are not provided, the general positive sentiment about the staff's kindness and the quality of care implies a clean, organized, and welcoming space conducive to veterinary practice. The fact that the "establishment seems better than it ever was in the past and in a very good way" suggests ongoing improvements to the facility or operational aspects, contributing to a more positive overall environment for clients and their pets.

Several key features distinguish Saugerties Animal Hospital. A primary asset is the highly regarded **veterinary team**, particularly Dr. Lang. Dr. Lang is consistently praised for being "attentive, sympathetic, knowledgeable," and an excellent veterinarian, especially for aging pets with complex health issues. The collective "team" is also highlighted for their kindness and caring. Another significant feature is their **patient-centered approach to treatment**, characterized by considering all factors such as the pet's age and the benefit-risk ratio of procedures. This ensures that recommendations are tailored and necessary, which builds trust with pet owners who appreciate not being "bled dry" with unnecessary services, a common concern in veterinary care. Their **clear and comprehensive communication** is also a key feature, as clients report being thoroughly informed about their pet's condition and options. Furthermore, the hospital's **long-standing presence and loyalty from clients spanning over 20 years** underscore a history of reliable and trusted service within the community, providing a foundation of experience and reputation. The apparent improvements to the "establishment" under new management or ownership suggest a commitment to modernization and enhancing the overall client and patient experience.

Customer reviews for Saugerties Animal Hospital provide a nuanced perspective. On the overwhelmingly positive side, there is immense praise for Dr. Lang and the entire team for their dedication, knowledge, and compassionate approach. Clients express high confidence and satisfaction with the care their pets receive, particularly for older animals with chronic conditions. The attentive, sympathetic, and un-rushed nature of the consultations is highly valued. The sentiment of feeling that their pet is being truly "taken care of" is a recurring theme, alongside appreciation for the honest and necessary recommendations, contrasting with experiences of unnecessary charges elsewhere. The gratitude expressed by clients like Irene and Mocha Shocklee underscores the deep bond and trust fostered by the hospital's team. However, recent changes under new management have introduced concerns regarding pricing and communication about appointment types. While the quality of care is maintained at a high level, some clients have experienced unexpected charges, particularly for what are deemed "emergency appointments" when scheduling for the next day, without prior clear communication of the additional fee. This has led to feelings of being "raked over the coals" and a perception that prices have "gone through the roof" for some services, despite recognizing that "vet care is expensive." These concerns highlight a need for increased transparency in billing under the new operational policies.

Specific promotional information for Saugerties Animal Hospital is not explicitly outlined in the provided text. However, their primary "promotion" comes from the strong word-of-mouth recommendations based on the excellent care provided by Dr. Lang and the staff. The emphasis on considering the "benefit-risk ratio" and not performing unnecessary services can be seen as an indirect promotion of their ethical and cost-conscious approach, which differentiates them from other clinics perceived as "bleeding you dry." While the reviews mention recent price increases and emergency appointment charges, the positive feedback on the quality of care and the perceived value despite the costs, for those who understand veterinary expenses, still serves as a draw. For the most current and accurate promotional information, including details on routine visit costs, emergency appointment fees, or any specific packages, interested individuals are advised to directly contact Saugerties Animal Hospital at (845) 246-6150. Given the recent changes in management and billing policies, a direct inquiry would be the most reliable way to obtain up-to-date pricing and service information.

We have been bringing our pets here for over 20 years now. The staff is amazing and are always kind and caring. They definitely deserve 5 stars 猸愶笍. The facility on the other hand has recently changed hands from my understanding and so have the policies and billing. When you call to schedule an appointment and they say they have an opening the next day that鈥檚 great but what they fail to tell you is that it is an emergency appointment and you get charged $100 for that appointment just for walking through the door plus all the other fees for your fury friend to be seen. Be aware of what your appointment is and how much it is going to cost before you go. I鈥檓 not a fan of feeling like I鈥檓 being raked over the coals. This is a great place but beware because their prices have gone through the roof. Time to move on. 猸愶笍猸愶笍

Unfortunately we have had two different dogs with two different leg issues. Both dogs were seen very quickly and both dogs are doing extremely well. Dr. CAWIN was excellent. I am very pleased with the treatment we have continued to receive at this hospital. Thank you team! You鈥檙e the bomb!

We've been going to the Saugerties Animal Hospital for well over 15 years now, and have always gotten excellent professional care for our fur family members. Our last visit the other day was no exception. Diane at the desk was very helpful, and pleasant. Dr. Lang's assistant Samantha was so helpful with our big pittie Apollo, which she remembered from The Columbia-Greene Humane Society, where we adopted Apollo. And, Dr. Lang was the usual very caring, and very attentive Dr. Lang. We honestly can't say enough about the care we've always received. We highly recommend the Saugerties Animal Hospital located across from Price Chopper, between Sawyer Motors, and The Avenue. Five Stars Plus!!!

They handle with care and kindness. I was devastated as we had just lost our family cat Jibby. Being my first time ever in this situation and first time here they made one of the toughest times seamless. They were just so understanding and patient I can鈥檛 thank them enough.
