San Marcos Blvd Veterinary Hospital & Urgent Care - Emergency Vet

I recently moved to the area and feel incredibly fortunate to have found Dr. Bowdre as our primary vet for my 2-year-old basset hound. The level of care and support he provides is truly exceptional, and I can always count on him for anything I need. I absolutely love this clinic and all the wonderful staff! A special shoutout to Kayden at the front desk, who is always so friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this vet clinic to anyone looking for top-notch care for their pets!

I was very very impressed with their services. They were so helpful when my dog had an obstruction. Gave me a lot of different options as well as really worked with my budget. They were very nice and understanding and just seemed to genuinely want to help our puppy. Tod was a great veterinarian! And the ladies working the front desk were amazing also!

There is only one word for the San Marcos Blvd. - EXCEPTIONAL! They have done major dental work on one of my senior dogs and the dog immediately bounced back without issue. Another adult dog also had dental work and knee surgery. This dog is not aggressive, but very reactionary. That is not a problem for San Marcos vet. They help you make sure the waiting room is clear so that your difficult dog feels right at home. Dr. Todd checks their voicemail throughout the night. I had a question about the pain meds and left a voicemail very late in the evening. Dr. Todd called me back in 15 minutes. Today was the knee surgery and Dr. Todd called me at 9 o’clock checking in. He reminded me that I can call at any time through the night if there’s any problems. Last, their prices are so reasonable. I am always pleasantly surprised at the estimates, and often times they come under what was supposed to be the low range. Most vets far exceed the high range. This vet is really a breath of fresh air.

Best experience at an emergency vet ever! Our giant dog ate lots of treats, got treatments and adored everyone. Nicest people ever! The doctor spends a lot of time with you and your beloved pet. Prices excellent! Thank you kindly!

10/10 service, HIGHLY recommend! Facility is clean, staff is very friendly, kind, and amazing at educating their customers. Dr. Bowdre has a strong and assertive presence that immediately makes you feel very comfortable in his skills. He absolutely knows what he’s doing, and is clearly more than qualified to provide exceptional care. My husband and I were so impressed with his no-BS attitude. Our dog needed emergency surgery and he did an exam, had a diagnosis, a plan of action and was ready to take our dog on the spot. I must have called 8-10 vets in the area and none were able to help us same day, except for him. I must admit, it was a miracle. He was very affordable as well. The front office staff member, i believe her name was Kate (i hope i got this right!), was soooo lovely to communicate with and helpful! She is an asset to this veterinary hospital, and a welcoming presence. I have been taking all of my pets for the past 11 years to another vet that has been convenient in location, but mediocre in care, and i am officially switching over. I will bring all of my pets here from now on- they made a lifelong customer out of me today and i will recommend them to every pet parent i know, or meet. I am SO thankful for their help with my sweet boy!
