My 3 month old Golden Retriever eats everything, including things that are harmful or toxic. We had a scary morning with how sick he got after getting into our compost (with old tomato plants and unripe tomatoes) so we headed straight to Safe Haven. Every staff member we interacted with was so kind, compassionate and helped my Charlie Cheeseburger start to feel better. Dr Kristen was so patient and kind, giving me options for testing and treatments without pressure to make rash decisions. She explained everything thoroughly to ensure that I understood the options and could make an educated decision. They even gave me some paper towels and cleaning spray to clean my car (he was really sick) while they treated and nursed him back to health. I’ll definitely go to them if/when we have another urgent matter with this crazy but sweet pup. Tonight he goes about like he hasn’t skipped a beat.

Safe Haven Veterinary Hospital offers a comprehensive range of veterinary services, with a notable strength in handling urgent and complex medical cases, alongside routine and preventive care. Their offerings reflect a commitment to advanced diagnostics and a wide array of treatment options. Key services typically provided include:
Urgent and Emergency Care: As highlighted by customer testimonials, the hospital is well-equipped to handle sudden illnesses and urgent matters. They provide prompt and effective treatment for pets experiencing acute health crises.
Comprehensive Diagnostic Services: This likely includes advanced in-house laboratory testing and imaging (such as X-rays and potentially ultrasound) to accurately diagnose complex conditions. The reviews suggest a thorough approach to testing, with options explained to pet owners.
Medical Consultations and Treatments: For a wide range of illnesses and conditions, the veterinarians provide detailed examinations, discuss potential diagnoses, and outline various treatment plans, ensuring pet owners are fully informed.
Veterinary Surgery: While specific types are not detailed, a comprehensive pet hospital typically offers both routine (e.g., spay/neuter) and more complex soft tissue surgeries. The mention of "serious medical procedures" in reviews suggests strong surgical capabilities.
Pet Wellness and Preventive Care: Regular check-ups, vaccinations, parasite control, and nutritional counseling are foundational services aimed at maintaining long-term pet health and preventing future issues.
Dental Care: Essential for overall health, a full-service hospital would offer professional dental cleanings and other necessary oral health procedures.

Client Education: A strong emphasis is placed on thoroughly explaining medical conditions, test results, and treatment options to pet owners, empowering them to make educated decisions.

This commitment to transparent and clear communication ensures pet owners understand their options and can make educated decisions about their pet's care.
Handling Complex and Urgent Cases: The testimonials strongly indicate that Safe Haven excels in diagnosing and treating challenging medical situations. The experience with a sick Golden Retriever and the pug requiring "serious medical procedures" highlights their capability in managing complex cases where thorough testing and counseling are paramount.
Client-Centric Approach: The hospital goes above and beyond to support clients, as exemplified by providing cleaning supplies for a client's car after their pet was sick. This thoughtful gesture demonstrates a deep understanding of the pet owner's distress and a commitment to easing their burden.
Highly Skilled and Experienced Team: While specific doctor names beyond Dr. Kristen are not provided, the consistent positive feedback on service and care implies a team of highly skilled professionals capable of delivering excellent veterinary medicine, even for pets who have been to multiple vets.
Value for Investment: Clients explicitly state that the quality of care received at Safe Haven is "worth it," even if it involves a significant drive or substantial financial investment for complex procedures. This speaks volumes about the perceived value and trust clients place in the hospital.
While specific promotional offers are not detailed, the primary "promotion" for Safe Haven Veterinary Hospital comes from its excellent reputation and the powerful testimonials of satisfied clients. The narrative of successfully treating gravely ill pets serves as the most compelling advertisement for their services.
The client experience at Safe Haven is built on a foundation of empathy and efficiency. When a pet arrives with an urgent issue, the immediate priority is to stabilize the animal and provide comfort. Simultaneously, the staff works to comfort the owner, gathering necessary information and explaining the process. The veterinarians conduct thorough examinations and discuss all diagnostic and treatment options in detail, ensuring that pet owners feel empowered and informed. The absence of "pressure to make rash decisions" is a significant relief for owners facing difficult choices. Post-treatment, the clear communication continues, and the positive outcomes, such as a once-sick puppy going "about like he hasn’t skipped a beat," reinforce the clinic's effectiveness. The willingness of clients to drive 45 minutes underscores the perceived superior value and peace of mind derived from Safe Haven's care.
The focus appears to be on building long-term relationships based on trust, quality care, and transparent communication, rather than aggressive promotional campaigns. The client's parting thought, "If you gotta put down some real money on your fur baby, at least give it to the best one. Right?", perfectly encapsulates the clinic's value proposition.

This testimonial powerfully illustrates the clinic's ability to handle urgent cases with kindness, thoroughness, and effective treatment, along with thoughtful client support.
Another client, with experience from multiple vets, states: "They are awesome here. We've had our pug at 5 different vets and had really good service and care from all of them. However- when it came to getting tests done, etc, and counseling us on our situation, Safe Haven was the best. Getting serious medical procedures on our pets costs a lot of money and takes a long time everywhere, and yes, it sucks. But, it you gotta put down some real money on your fur baby, at least give it to the best one. Right? We drove 45 minutes to get there/ worth it. CoCo says hi- Actually she's barking... ✌🏻" This review highlights Safe Haven's superiority in diagnostics and counseling, recognizing that while complex care is expensive, the quality and support make it worthwhile, even for clients who travel a significant distance.
These reviews collectively showcase Safe Haven Veterinary Hospital as a highly trusted, compassionate, and exceptionally competent facility, particularly valued for its ability to manage urgent and complex medical needs with clarity and genuine care.

Nov 20, 2024 · Don StrongDr. Peterson is truly the BEST! She looked at my cat's Xrays on her day off, the day after Christmas, to see if he did actually swallow the silicone tip of his pill popper, as the ER that we went to didn't have a radiologist or internist available on Christmas Eve. She goes above and beyond time after time. There are truly no words to thank her!!! She is the BEST of the best.
Dec 26, 2024 · KimDr Peterson at Safe Haven has been such a delight to work with. I've been bringing her my medically complex cat, Milo, for almost a year. I brought him to her upon recommendation from both a family member and another specialist. Safe Haven is incredibly responsive to any questions and provides wonderful care to their patients. All of the medical professionals I've interacted with have been very kind, compassionate, and helpful. The techs have all been very attentive and excited to see Milo when he is in (it helps that he is the sweetest orange boy ever!). Dr Peterson personally types up the most detailed discharge sheets I have ever seen from any vet at any hospital. This facility is truly a gem. I also had one of my cats at urgent care a few weeks ago, and the team in that building was wonderful as well. I would recommend Safe Haven to anyone.
Dec 23, 2023 · Corey BrooksOver the past year, we have used Safe Haven at least 4 times. We had 3 of the doctors and this is an exceptionally great clinic. Everyone of the doctors and the staff are very kind, concerned and listened to all of my concerns. Also, gave me answers to very sensitive questions. I have gone to my regular vet and asked if they could help me express my boxer girl's bladder and they didn't do. But I asked Dr Kristen Krisulevicz to show me and it was no problem. And the plus is I was able to do it. We are extremely happy with them and recommend them very highly.
