We switched from the vet we've been using for years to Dr. Z at the recommendation of our behavioral trainer. And we're so glad that we did. Dr. Z is the most caring, patient, and communicative vet we've ever had the pleasure of working with. She never once rushed us out of the room. Instead, she always took the time to answer every single one of our questions. We didn't leave until we knew all the next steps and felt confident moving forward. She has also responded to a myriad of questions we blasted over e-mail, which we're super appreciative of. I also can't conclude a review without giving praise to the staff there. We always had a great experience interacting with them, over the phone, e-mail, and in person. It's clear that every person there cares about their furry patients. As long as I live within 100 miles of Ruxton Animal Hospital, I'll continue to use them. Thanks to Dr. Z and the rest of the team!

I have been bringing my dogs here since before Dr. Zimmerman bought the practice. She has consistently been a caring vet and has given me great advice on how to communicate with and care for my dogs. She is knowledgeable about the latest treatments and gives reasonable feedback to my concerns. Her staff show love and friendliness to my pets and I feel really good entrusting them with my dogs' health.

Ruxton is by far the best vet we've ever had. The doctors, tech, and staff are top notch and they really care. Compared to other vets they are also more affordable. Dr. Z and Dr. Carmichael are amazing. It's so hard to find a good vet you trust and we couldn't me happier.

I am so grateful to have found Ruxton Animal Hospital. The staff is excellent and well educated and taught. Dr. Z is highly professional and deeply cares about my fur babies (canine and feline). It’s so easy to see why she’s as highly sought after as she is. I’m seeing so many people complain about appointment availability, but Dr. Z is worth the wait. She stands firmly by a fear free approach so that my babies are more comfortable. They love Dr. Z and her staff so much which makes everyone’s lives easy. I don’t trust my pet’s healthcare decisions to ANY other vet after working with Dr. Z. I’m amazed at how people choose to nitpick over small things when RAH makes a conscious effort To provide the platinum standard of care, EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. 1000/10 highly recommend.

Truthfully wish I could give zero stars. Ruxton and Dr. Zimmerman started out as a great vet for us - 4 cats that were semi healthy. Dr. Z and the vet techs are very nice, but the actual practice is not equipped to handle the volume or provide a good communication experience. The front desk staff are not helpful, and do not follow-up with you, even when your pet is due for a visit or immunizations. Ruxton is not a good place to establish your animals, and they do not care about your pets in the way that other vets can (and should!). From struggling to get an emergency appointment (that they don't hold, no matter what they tell you) to waiting 5 weeks for an appointment (when you're already established) to threatening calls from their new Practice Manager, Christy, asking me to cancel my appointment when I expressed my disappointment, Ruxton has embarrassed themselves over and over. We had high hopes for Ruxton after being a customer for almost two years, but were gravely disappointed within the last few months. If you value your pets health, (and your sanity!), I would strongly encourage you to not take your animals to Ruxton.
