Dr. Cat and her team have always been honest, upfront and fair with my wife and me. We have a dog Lexie who has had cancer for a while. There has not been a point that I have felt like they were putting their interest in front of ours. I am very difficult to please, So this says a lot about them.

Rover The Rhine Introduce
Welcome to Rover The Rhine, a dedicated Pet Hospital located at 908 Race St, Cincinnati, OH 45202, USA. We are committed to providing comprehensive veterinary care for your beloved animal companions. At Rover The Rhine, we understand the deep bond you share with your pets, and our team strives to offer honest, upfront, and fair services to meet their healthcare needs.
As a trusted Pet Hospital in the Cincinnati area, Rover The Rhine is led by Dr. Kat, who is frequently praised for her professionalism, clear communication, and genuine concern for her patients. According to customer reviews, Dr. Kat takes the time to address concerns in a way that is easily understandable, ensuring that pet owners are well-informed about their animal's health and treatment options. This commitment to open communication and honesty is a cornerstone of the practice's philosophy.
Our services at Rover The Rhine encompass a wide range of veterinary care to support your pet's health and well-being throughout their life. We provide routine wellness examinations, which are essential for preventative care and early detection of potential health issues. These check-ups include thorough physical assessments, personalized advice on nutrition and exercise, and discussions about vaccinations and parasite control (including heartworm, flea, and tick prevention).
In addition to preventative care, Rover The Rhine is equipped to diagnose and treat various medical conditions. While specific details about advanced diagnostic equipment are not provided in the reviews, the reference to medication suggests that the hospital offers pharmaceutical services and likely utilizes diagnostic procedures to determine appropriate treatments. Dr. Kat's expertise allows for the management of both acute and chronic illnesses, ensuring your pet receives the necessary care to maintain a good quality of life, as indicated by the positive experience of a pet owner whose dog has been living with cancer.
While the reviews do not explicitly detail surgical capabilities, it is common for a well-regarded Pet Hospital to offer surgical services, at least for routine procedures such as spaying and neutering. For more specialized surgical needs, Rover The Rhine likely has established referral relationships with veterinary specialists in the region to ensure comprehensive care for their patients.
One recurring theme in the customer feedback is the perceived honesty and fairness of Dr. Kat and her team. One reviewer, who describes themselves as "very difficult to please," specifically highlights that they have never felt that the clinic's interests were prioritized over their pet's well-being. This speaks volumes about the ethical approach and patient-centered care provided at Rover The Rhine.
However, one recent review provides a more nuanced perspective on the overall experience. While the reviewer continues to highly recommend Dr. Kat for her professional demeanor and clear communication, they noted some inconsistencies in the front desk service. Specifically, a lack of greeting upon arrival and a period of silence during a technical issue at payment were mentioned as areas for potential improvement. Additionally, the invoice provided did not itemize the charges for medications, which the reviewer found less transparent than previous experiences.
Despite these concerns regarding the administrative aspects of the practice, the reviewer intends to continue returning for Dr. Kat's expertise, indicating a strong trust in her veterinary skills and judgment. This suggests that while there might be areas for improvement in customer service and administrative processes, the quality of medical care provided by Dr. Kat remains a significant draw for pet owners.
In conclusion, Rover The Rhine, as a Pet Hospital in Cincinnati, is characterized by the honest, upfront, and fair veterinary care provided by Dr. Kat and her team. The positive testimonials highlight her professionalism, clear communication, and genuine concern for animals. While a recent review points out some inconsistencies in front desk service and invoice clarity, the trust in Dr. Kat's medical expertise remains strong among pet owners. If you are looking for a Pet Hospital in Cincinnati where you can expect transparent communication and a veterinarian who prioritizes your pet's best interests, Rover The Rhine, under the guidance of Dr. Kat, may be a suitable choice. Mar 21, 2024 · Rodney WetenkampPrepare to read. I’ve been taking my cat here since I got her 2 years ago. I’ve since moved and this is now 30 minutes away. When I first came, I raved about this place. Dr. Kat is always professional, addresses concerns, and talks in a way that’s easily understood(+) I don’t really like how they keep you in a small room while your pet gets taken elsewhere, but I understand the reasoning behind it. As for the front desk team, when I started, I believe Deja was the name of the person I interacted with. She was warm, knew what she was doing, and even spoke to my cat directly upon arrival and departure.(+) I believe Alex is who I spoke with today. No greeting when I entered the door, just asked my pet’s name and started the sign in. As I was going to pay my invoice, I stood there for almost five minutes in uncomfortable silence as her computer experienced issues. (-) Technology fails, that’s no fault of hers, but at least tell people what’s going on so they don’t feel so in the dark. The invoice I was given also didn’t include the specific charges of the medicines I was given, just that it cost $55 more than the visit itself. (-)I used to recommend folks go here, I’m not sure if I would now. Thus, the four stars instead of five. I’ll continue returning for Dr. Kat.
Jun 19, 2024 · Ashley McCartneyDr. Kat and the staff are professional and kind. The office is convenient and they provide great dental services.
Feb 18, 2025 · Sherri RickmanI had a tooth extraction scheduled for my dog, I do not recall for certain, but I think it was done by Dr. Kat(?). Everything was fine until I went to pick my dog up, I heard him crying as I walked in the door. He cried, non-stop, for days. Even after I called and verified I could give him more pain meds. My dog wouldn't come near me for 5 days because he thought I took him to the vet to be punished. It took weeks for me to fully regain his trust. My entire family was shocked by his non-stop crying, the pained look in his eyes, and his unwillingness to come to me -- his absolute favorite human. Upon looking into things further, this location uses ketamine to anesthetize dogs, and this is what they blamed my dog's petrification on. To be honest, I have a veryyyyy difficult time believing the ketamine was to blame... Really does make me think more went on... Maybe they began before he was asleep... Maybe they had someone hold him down or hurt him... Maybe they skimped on anesthesia... Maybe there was none... My dog was absolutely horrified, and despite not being able to speak, I understood he was trying to convey to me through his cries and deadlock stare that not only was he in pain but he was mistreated. I was horrified that my dog was so traumatized, angry at the vets, and heartbroken he was put through this. It pains me to think that in his predicted and too-short 10-15 year life span here on earth, he had to deal with this. He was TRAUMATIZED. Over the next few years, he woke me many times with whimpers and cries from his nightmares. I would gently wake him and comfort him until he went back to bed each time. I hope no one else, especially any animal, has to deal with what my dog, primarily, and me, secondarily, did. PS: I'm sure if Rover the Rhine sees this, they'll give some official statement on the uncertainty of dog's reaction to anesthesia, how they can't be responsible, etc. Maybe an apology. Certainly no refund for abusing my dog. Regardless, a refund cannot undo my dog's trauma.
Aug 11, 2024 · Jacob BlumbergI could not be more thankful and appreciative for the kind and caring services provided to my cat. She suffered a medical emergency that needed immediate surgery, and Rover the Rhine were able to accommodate us same-day. They were patient, understanding, and were incredibly reassuring and transparent with everything. The folks here are absolute lifesavers!
