Dr McCoy is amazing. My dog is an anxious little guy and he usually super nervous around the vet. We’ve struggled in the past with shots and wanted to try a new spot. We were pleasantly surprised by the experience here and Dr McCoy was such a calming presence. He did super well with his check up and shots and we’re so happy to have found a spot that works for our buddy.

Welcome to Rosecrans Veterinary Clinic

Welcome, local pet owners of Hawthorne and surrounding areas, to an introduction of Rosecrans Veterinary Clinic, identified as a Pet Hospital located at 5267 W Rosecrans Ave, Hawthorne, CA 90250, USA. You can reach them by phone at (310) 857-7000 or via their mobile contact number, +1 310-857-7000.

As a local pet hospital, Rosecrans Veterinary Clinic is expected to provide a range of veterinary services aimed at maintaining and improving the health of your animal companions. Typically, a pet hospital offers facilities for examinations, vaccinations, treatments for illnesses and injuries, and potentially surgical procedures. The environment is usually designed to be as comfortable and stress-free as possible for the animals, while also providing a professional setting for pet owners to discuss their concerns.

The available customer reviews present a mixed perspective on Rosecrans Veterinary Clinic. One pet owner had a positive experience, specifically mentioning Dr. McCoy. They noted that their anxious dog, who is usually nervous at the vet, had a surprisingly calm experience during a check-up and vaccinations. They were pleased to have found a clinic that worked well for their pet, highlighting Dr. McCoy's calming presence.

However, another customer shared a significantly negative experience. This reviewer expressed a preference for a vet who shows minimal upfront concern over one who pretends to care but then allegedly neglects the animal. They felt that the veterinarian they encountered "just simply didn't want to be bothered anymore," and this attitude was supposedly reflected in the tech staff's approach. This reviewer stated they would not trust the clinic. They also raised concerns about standard injections being administered in another room, contrary to their experiences at other South Bay veterinary clinics where such procedures were done in front of the owner. This practice led to distrust regarding whether the stated treatments were actually performed.

Furthermore, the negative review disputed the claim of the clinic being inexpensive, stating that their experience suggested prices were 10 to 20 percent higher than average for non-low-cost clinics in the South Bay area. The reviewer also detailed a distressing situation involving a cat they were trying to help, which they said was abandoned, not a stray as allegedly claimed by the clinic in their response to the initial review. According to the reviewer, the clinic offered to trim the cat's nails for free but then declined, purportedly because the cat was sick and deemed unwanted. The reviewer claimed the vet offered to euthanize the cat quickly if no progress was seen within a day, which the reviewer strongly disagreed with, believing the cat would not have survived even a day under their care. They emphasized that the cat, named Ash, showed significant improvement with just love and care at home, without medication, implying a lack of care and a focus on financial gain at the clinic. The reviewer also added that they did not decline diagnostics, but that the clinic refused to do promised bloodwork, citing the cat trying to bite them, despite the cat initially being barely able to move. The reviewer concluded by strongly advising against Rosecrans Veterinary Clinic, citing dishonesty and a perceived lack of genuine care for animals unless they represented "dollar signs."

Considering these contrasting reviews, it's challenging to form a definitive picture of the environment, services, and features of Rosecrans Veterinary Clinic. On one hand, there's a positive mention of Dr. McCoy and a calming experience for an anxious pet. On the other hand, there are serious allegations of a lack of care, questionable practices regarding treatment administration, potentially higher-than-average pricing, and a dismissive attitude towards a sick animal.

Based on the positive review, a potential feature of Rosecrans Veterinary Clinic could be the presence of calming and effective veterinarians like Dr. McCoy, particularly beneficial for pets with anxiety. The clinic likely offers standard veterinary services such as check-ups and vaccinations. The negative review, however, casts doubt on the overall environment and the general approach to animal well-being, suggesting potential issues with transparency regarding treatments and a possible focus on financial aspects over compassionate care.

No specific promotional information is available in the provided reviews. Typically, pet hospitals might offer introductory discounts for new clients or packages for routine services like vaccinations. To inquire about any such promotions at Rosecrans Veterinary Clinic, you would need to contact them directly.

In conclusion, Rosecrans Veterinary Clinic in Hawthorne, CA, has received both positive feedback regarding a specific veterinarian's handling of an anxious pet and very negative feedback concerning the overall care, transparency, and pricing. Local users should consider these differing experiences when deciding whether to utilize the services of this pet hospital. It would be prudent to perhaps seek further information or potentially consult with the clinic directly to address any concerns raised by the negative review before making a decision.

Given the stark contrast in the provided testimonials, it is difficult to objectively highlight specific features or services without acknowledging the serious concerns raised by one of the reviewers. While one customer found Dr. McCoy to be amazing, another strongly advises against the clinic due to perceived lack of care, questionable practices, and pricing. Therefore, local pet owners are encouraged to weigh these perspectives carefully.

I prefer a vet that shows they care minimally upfront about an animal's well-being to a vet that pretends they care then leaves the person bringing an animal in hanging! She ( the vet) just simply didn't want to be bothered anymore and this energy even was evident afterwards in her tech staff's approach with us. I wouldn't trust this place! Also, every other vet we have ever gone to administers standard injections in front of the person. We have gotten those same exact injections with other animals at other places in front of our eyes in the past. This place took animal off to another room. Who knows if they really even did everything they said they were going to. Again, been to many south bay vets. This the only place that doesn't want to administer standard treatment in front of the person. Also, people say so cheap. I say no. Call around to other experienced south bay vets. This place is 10 to 20 percent higher than average, non-low cost clinics. I wouldn't trust this place after our first time visit. I SEE THE CLINIC REPLIED WITH AN UNTRUTHFUL RESPONSE. FIRST, I "CLAIMED" THE CAT WAS A STRAY....HUH? I EXPLAINED IN DETAIL TO JUST ABOUT EVERY STAFF MEMBER THERE THAT THE CAT HAD AN OWNER SINCE BIRTH AND WAS ABANDONED BY A TENANT IN OUR BUILDING WHO WAS EVICTED. THE CAT WAS NEVER A STRAY. THERE ARE ABOUT 12 OR MORE NEIGHBORS WHO CAN VERIFY THIS. WE JUST TRIED TO DO SOMETHING TO HELP IN RESPONSE TO A LOW LIFE PERSON THAT ABANDONED THEIR ANIMAL, AND UNFORTUNATELY OTHERS DON'TWANT TO BE BOTHERED WITH HIM. SECONDLY, THEY OFFERED TO CUT THE NAILS OF THIS CAT FOR FREE BUT THEN JUST BLEW IT OFF. THEY FELT HE DIDN'T DESERVE IT BECAUSE HE WAS "SICK" AND " NO ONE WANTS A SICK CAT" THE VET OFFERED TO TAKE AND SAID SHE WOULD KEEP 1 DAY MAX AND EUTHANIZE IF NO PROGRESS. I DOUBT HE WOULD HAVE SURVIVED WITH THEM EVEN 1 DAY! PLEASE SEE PIC. THE CAT "ASH" IS WALKING AND GETTING HIS LIFE BACK! NO THANKS TO THIS CLINIC! IT BRINGS MY WIFE TO TEARS EVERY DAY THINKING THIS MONEY GRUBBING CLINIC WOULD SO EASILY PUT HIM TO REST WHEN NOT NECESSARY! THEY JUST CARE ABOUT MONEY!!!!! PLENTY OF OPTIONS THAT ACTUALLY CARE ABOUT ANIMALS. ROSECRANS VET CLINIC IS NOT ONE OF THEM! AND AGAIN 15-20 PERCENT HIGHER THAN MOST ON EVERYTHING! ALSO THE CAT COULD BARELY EVEN MOVE HIS HEAD BEFORE. NOT ANY MOVEMENT IN LEGS. SO MUCH IMPROVEMENT IN JUST ONE WEEK! NO MEDS, JUST LOVE AND CARE. THIS CLINIC IS COMPLETELY VOID OF LOVE AND CARE!......Addionally, WE DID NOT DECLINE DIAGNOSTICS! They refused to do the bloodwork they promised. The vet staff said he tried to bite them. ? Huh? The boy couldn't even move his head! They are just dishonest and didn't want to be bothered with Ash as they could see he didn't represent the dollar signs they were looking for. Period.

This is my first time visiting this veterinary clinic and my cat was very nervous. The staff is really really nice! Doctor was super supportive and loving to my pet and provided the greatest treatment plan to get her on back on her feet. The space is very clean and spacious. The staff make you feel very comfortable with every step in the process. I definitely will be a returning customer! Such a great experience

We had a free checkup voucher from the pound and Dr. McCoy was the only one in Hawthorne who accepted it. We couldn’t have been happier with her and her staff. The office was very clean and welcoming. We got additional tests done and the results were texted back to us same day! Dr. McCoy followed up with us the following day even though it was a Saturday. We plan on making Dr. McCoy our go to veterinarian!!! Thanks guys!!!

The BEST in the West! Dr. McCoy is thorough, compassionate and has incredible follow up! My little pooch can be a bit to handle, yet her staff handles her with care and grace. Great location, great parking, great prices. Can't recommend enough!
