Roosevelt Animal Hospital

Roosevelt AH is the best veterinarian in the area! The staff are all super helpful and friendly with my two cats. They’re very transparent about costs and pros/cons of procedures. Special shoutout to Garrett who is a delight! He always makes my cats and I feel at ease. Could not recommend a better vet clinic!

RAH staff is very competent and helpful! They are caring and conscientious of their clients (humans and pets both!). Our dog had some really tricky GI issues that they helped us handle when we felt like there was no making it better. Despite all the blood draws and not-so-fun exams our dog has had to do there, he still loves going to the vet! That should tell you all you need to know ;) Another plus is that unlike a lot of vets, they have *a lot* of insight into animal behaviors and have helped us navigate our dog’s behavioral issues as well. I've been trying to find a good vet closer to me after moving to Seattle over a year ago. Roosevelt was the third one I tried, and I'm done looking because they were amazing. My dog has to go to the vet pretty regularly, and with the other vets we tried they didn't read his charts from other vets beforehand, and the vets were clearly stressed and overworked. Despite going to the vet regularly, my dog never had vet anxiety until recently from the other vets. Roosevelt though, both the vet and vet tech read through his history beforehand. When they brought him to the back, I could overhear how sweet they were with him and after being in the back he seemed less stressed than when we first walked in. The prices are pretty average, and I'm super happy to pay it to know that my dog is getting care from people that aren't overworked and really care about him. Plus, I was able to schedule a first visit online for the next day.

Our dog died from heart failure within 12h after visit. The visit and blood tests might have stressed the already weakened heart, but this was not the hospital’s fault given the pre-condition. The issue is that the vet, with the help of blood test, failed to identify an existing life-threatening risk and wrongly made us believe the dog was in a OK state. All the conversation on that day were irrelevant to the real issue of the dog: heart. In fact, most heart diseases, at their advanced stage, could be diagnosed just by abnormal heart sound and lung sound. I don’t think the vet we had was competent in this area. Although successfully identifying the issue probably won’t change the outcome, I do hope the vet could improve her professional skills to help other pets.

This place was great for my reactive and needle-phobic pup. My 90lb dog doesn't typically like men, but Dr.Walker's calm demeanor and thoughtful tactics helps us have stress-free appointments. They are able to easily take blood tests here whereas other vet clinics could not. We saw Dr.McGilvary during our last visit and she was incredibly patient with my pup as well. Thank you to the whole team that makes a trip to the vet a lot less stressful!
