Rocky Gorge is by far the best clinic I have taken my beloved pets to. They always ensure that I am seen swiftly, my pet is thoroughly examined, that they understand the problems I am presenting, and that I understand the issues and how we can handle it. They always tailor the conversation about what health issue is occurring giving me many options to take from extremely conservative to the more intensive care available. Dr Applebaum and her team are very supportive of my decisions for the health care for my pets. After a catastrophic injury to one of my dogs they were able to save his life and have me seen by specialist for the best quality care we could get for him. They have saved the life of my sweet dog so many times. When I have had to say goodbye to one of my pets they have been amazing supportive and have allowed for as much time as needed prior to and after. They even accommodated my desire to let my dog go outside in the grass outside their hospital. They will go above and beyond every time. If you are looking for a clinic that treats you and your pets like friends this is the place to go.

Nov 14, 2024 · Morgan BusbyA zero star if I could!!!! My perspective of Rocky Gorge Animal Hospital has gone from a wonderful place to send your sick/dying pet(s) to inhumane, dishonest, and failing to communicate with their customers. My baby girl (Pooter) has been a patient with Rocky Gorge since 2014. My cat died of Kidney Disease on Saturday, October 5, 2024. One afternoon when I got home from work my cat was lying on the floor unable to get up on her own. I was terrified and devastated at the scene of her not being able to get up. She was only able to move her arms and legs but not able to get up on her own. I was trying to feed her and give her water. But, my middle finger ended up getting caught in her mouth (Pooter did not bite me). This caused my finger to bleed and swell. The next day, I went to Patient First so they could evaluate the broken wound. Patient First had to inform Rocky Gorge that I had a broken wound from my cat. My main concern was that Rocky Gorge Animal Hospital did not communicate that they were going to decapitate my cat's head for rabies testing. This was very unfair to my family and I!!!! I am still very angry until this day on how things were handled!!!! This is not something that I feel I will ever fully heal from. A lady from Rocky Gorge named, Sarah Kelly called one evening to see if Officer Herbert from Anne Arundel Care and Control explained the rabies procedure with me. I Told Ms. Kelly “No” Officer Herbert only informed me that Pooter would need rabies and nothing else. Rocky Gorge should have explained the rabies procedure since they were the ones responsible for decapitating Pooter's head. procedure. Two officers from Anne Arundel Animal Care and Control mentioned that it was unnecessary for Rocky Gorge to decapitate her head, and that there were other alternatives to extract specimens tissue from her brain. My family and I had plans to see our baby girl one last time before she was scheduled to be cremated at Apage Pet Services on 10/17/2024. I was originally set to get two keepsakes (Ink nose print and an ink paw print). I was unable to get an ink nose print after receiving the devastating and traumatic news from Ms. Kelly who informed me that I could not get one since they decapitated her head. Anne Arundel Care and Control informed me that Pooter's head was sent to the MD Department Health Laboratories in Baltimore City. I had to drive there to see if they still had her head. Since nothing was communicated with me I was unable to get Pooter's head back since it was untagged and sent for a mass cremation without my knowledge. SHAME ON YOU ROCKY GORGE ANIMAL HOSPITAL!!!! THE INDIVIDUAL(S) RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE TO ENSURE THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN TO OTHER OWNERS PET. Edited 12/27/2024: Rayner - I absolutely understand that Rocky Gorge had to follow a mandated state law/protocol for rabies testing. But, that did not give an excuse for Rocky Gorge to avoid communicating the process and procedure of the rabies testing beforehand. When I got that phone call that one Thursday evening, Sarah Kelly explained that Rocky Gorge had already decapitated my cats head without my knowledge. This really turnt my stomach leaving me sadden, angry, shocked, and disappointment that Rocky Gorge failed to do their part to communicate with me before the rabies procedure had already taken place. I hope you and your team can see where you all have failed to do your job properly, and this will be a learning experience which could have easily been avoided if you all COMMUNICATED beforehand that you needed to decapitate my cats head. I did not know anything about what rabies testing would entail, and would have really appreciated if someone could have explained the entire process/procedure with me beforehand.
Dec 27, 2024 · Sharon WashingtonBrought in my 13 y/o cat in on Saturday evening after he wasn’t eating breakfast and throwing up, they triaged him and I was offered to wait at home or in the office since the wait was a few hours. Went home then got a call about 2 hours later with my treatment options, the vet was very clear and helpful with my options and helping me understand his risk profile. Ended up choosing to treat symptoms and had him home that night to monitor on my own. The treatment team has been super helpful in answering all my follow up questions before I leave for the holiday and calming my anxieties. Prices for the emergency exam were also very reasonable. Foo Foo is doing well and we will definitely be returning for our regular check-ups in the future!
Nov 26, 2024 · Jessica McElravyBeen going here for over 30 years. They have taken care of my animals with care, compassion and efficiency over the years. Dr. Wolchinski is the best vet in the area! I only have one dog now and they do his nails on a regular basis with their techs. I will never bring him again to a pet store to get that done. He also gets his annual exam with all of his shots with no problems. Definitely a five star practice!
Nov 28, 2024 · Beth TallentI had the best experience with Sofie today. Not only was she kind, she heard my concerns, went to ask a vet and her manager how they could help me with the issue, but also got me scheduled as soon as they could while offering reassurance that everything would be okay. She then had a cancellation and immediately called to work us in sooner. Excellent customer service and I look forward to all of our pets being treated by a team that goes out of their way to ensure your pet is taken care of.
