Rockville Road Animal Hospital

We love Rockville Road Animal Hospital! We’ve been with them for 16 years. They took such good care of our first puppy, she lived to be 14 years old. We’ve continued to take our two younger dogs there, as well. They are great about answering questions without being condescending. They are kind and gentle with our dogs.

It was my recent pleasure to visit Rockville Road Animal Hospital with my nine year old English Cocker Spaniel, Apple, for her annual checkup. This was not our first time there. They have been caring for her, as well as previous dogs, for several years, always with care and compassion. This visit was no exception. I found the office clean and the staff pleasant and helpful. It was a pleasure to meet the Relief Veterinarian, Dr. Smiar. Blood was drawn and when I received the results they came with complete explanation and an invitation to contact them if I had any questions. I had none. The staff was very kind and caring. Dr Sam was thorough and explained everything to me. I was concerned I’d have a big bill to pay, and they gave me a discount. That was very nice and greatly appreciated. The care they gave Mitzi was great.

This was my first time bringing my cat to Rockville Road Animal Hospital, and I have to say I was really impressed. My cat was super nervous and making a bit of a fuss, but the staff here handled it like pros. They were calm, patient, and so gentle with him, which helped ease my worries. It’s clear that everyone here genuinely cares about the animals they work with. The level of professionalism and kindness they showed made the whole experience much smoother than I expected. I’m so glad I chose this place for my cat’s care, and I wouldn’t hesitate to bring him back. Got automatic email and when unsubscribing I realized I never left a review. My fiance, kids, and myself took our dog here a couple years ago. We had a pit that was a runt always pretty skinny. He was 10 and one day we saw he got a little smaller. Concerned we monitored him and in the coarse of 2.5 days he got visibly smaller hip bone ribs poking and barely able to walk. We took him here hoping for a fix but not planning on it due to his condition rapidly deteriorating. We get there they accuse us of neglect, say they 'won't allow us to leave with this animal' and threaten to call the cops. I paid them to run blood work, he had cancer, far along, nothing to do but make him comfortable and put him to sleep. Sad day, kids bawling saying goodbye to their buddy after they threaten us which I'm rather sure is because of the negative stigma with pits and bad owners. Then never got an apology just sorry for your loss we will give you time with him. They email asking when I will bring my beagle in. Never. You people were rude and inconsiderate. Scared my kids well before they lost their dog that evening. Made assumptions and threats. It was a terrible experience. Be careful taking a sick animal they may unfairly pass judgment.
