Dr Luke was very demeaning when he was talking to me. The second he walked in the room he questioned why my father wasn’t with me. Stating that there should be a primary person at the visits. I understand where he was coming from but my father works a full time job and the next available time for him and the vet would be in over a week. The Dr Luke proceeds to tell me how my dog is very very sick ( I know thats why I’m there) and that his follow up should’ve been weeks ago. I told him that when I last talked to the receptionist on the phone, she asked for my fathers number so Dr Luke can call him. So we were waiting for his call and finally I had to reach out and ask “hey when are we gonna hear back from the vet?” I also told them that I wanted to get blood work done on my dog. They texted me back saying that Dr Luke tried reaching out to my father, mother AND me but never heard back. So of course I checked my call log and asked my parents to double check and we did not receive any calls. So it’s extremely frustrating that Dr Luke was saying all this when I’m the one who had to reach out because I heard nothing from them. Like would he have rather we waited for my dad to go, which would’ve been in over a week? With how sick my dog is? ( as he stated very unpleasantly/unprofessionally) I’m aware how sick my dog. And thats why I was there. But he still had a problem with that. The way he communicated with me (a 24 year old female) was so unprofessional and I can’t imagine having to keep in communication with him during this process with my dog as it’s already a stressful situation. This experience for me was a no because the communication was terrible on their part and somehow we get blamed for it. I already booked an appointment for my dog somewhere else because his sickness is serious and I don’t have time for a “professional” to lack communication skills with his staff and clients.

Rigsby Veterinary Clinic Introduce

Rigsby Veterinary Clinic, located at 4831 Rigsby Ave, San Antonio, TX 78222, USA, serves the local community as a Pet Hospital offering veterinary care services. Understanding the needs of pet owners in San Antonio requires a comprehensive look at what this clinic provides, alongside the experiences shared by its clients. Based on available online reviews, the experiences at Rigsby Veterinary Clinic appear to be varied, with some customers expressing satisfaction while others have raised concerns regarding communication and thoroughness.

Within the category of Pet Hospital, Rigsby Veterinary Clinic aims to provide medical care for pets. One positive aspect highlighted in a customer review is the availability of basic grooming services, specifically mentioning a "great job at clipping our dogs nails." This suggests that the clinic offers more than just medical consultations and may provide some routine care services for pets.

Another potentially convenient feature mentioned by a reviewer is the presence of "a little area in the back for your dog to do his business." This indicates that the clinic is mindful of the practical needs of pet owners during visits, providing a designated space for pets, which can enhance the overall experience, particularly for longer appointments or anxious animals.

However, some customer feedback raises concerns that prospective clients should consider. One detailed review describes an interaction with Dr. Luke that the client found demeaning and unprofessional. The issues raised include questioning the absence of a primary caregiver, perceived unpleasant communication regarding the pet's illness, and discrepancies in communication regarding follow-up appointments and test results. The client reported feeling blamed for a lack of communication that they attributed to the clinic's staff. This experience led the client to seek veterinary care elsewhere due to concerns about ongoing communication during a stressful time.

Another review, while generally positive and recommending the clinic, points out an area for potential improvement: the thoroughness of the staff in reviewing a pet's history. The reviewer noted an instance where they had to explain their pet's history, suggesting that the staff might not have adequately reviewed past visit notes before suggesting treatment. Ensuring that veterinary professionals are well-informed about a pet's medical history is crucial for providing accurate and effective care.

Despite these concerns, the same reviewer also stated that "for the most part our experience has been pleasant each time" and concluded by recommending Rigsby Veterinary Clinic. This suggests that while there might be inconsistencies or areas needing attention, some clients have had positive overall experiences.

The environment of Rigsby Veterinary Clinic is not explicitly described in the provided reviews. However, the mention of a designated area for pets to relieve themselves implies that the clinic is equipped with basic amenities to accommodate the practical needs of animal patients. Further information about the clinic's facilities, waiting areas, and examination rooms is not available in the provided text.

Regarding services, based on the reviews, Rigsby Veterinary Clinic offers at least basic grooming (nail clipping) and general veterinary consultations. The negative review suggests that diagnostic services, such as blood work, are also intended to be part of their offerings, although the process and communication surrounding these services were areas of concern for that particular client. A comprehensive list of services, including preventative care, surgery, dental care, and emergency services, cannot be definitively compiled based solely on the provided feedback.

Features of Rigsby Veterinary Clinic, as perceived through the customer reviews, include a convenient location in San Antonio, availability of some grooming services, and a designated area for pets' needs. The staff's professionalism and communication skills appear to be areas where experiences vary, with some finding the service pleasant and others encountering issues.

In conclusion, Rigsby Veterinary Clinic is a local Pet Hospital in San Antonio that offers veterinary services and some additional amenities like basic grooming and a pet relief area. While some customers have reported positive experiences, potential clients should be aware of concerns raised regarding communication and the thoroughness of history review. It is advisable for local users considering Rigsby Veterinary Clinic to weigh these points and perhaps contact the clinic directly to discuss their pet's specific needs and understand the clinic's current practices and protocols. As with any service provider, individual experiences can vary, and further research or a preliminary visit might be beneficial for making an informed decision about your pet's care.

The wife and I have taken our dog to the Rigsby Veterinary Clinic a few times and for the most part our experience has been pleasant each time. They could do a better job at being a little more thorough and reading through the notes regarding our dogs history before suggesting a recommend treatment. We had to explain our pets history to them, something that they should've known from their notes and past visits. Asides from that, they did a great job at clipping our dogs nails. They also have a little area in the back for your dog to do his business. All in all a good place to take your pet, and I would recommend the Rigsby Veterinary Clinic.

The prices are responsible. The staff is wonderful, and Dr. Proctor is excellent Dr and more importantly he actually still cares for the animals. Love it.
