Ridgeview used to be the best vet in the area. I got my first dog about 15 years ago and Ridgeview was the very first place I took him. Dr. Hesse was great and the staff was awesome. Over the years, Ridgeview has grown. I believe they are up to 3 doctors now. Dr. Hesse and Dr. Wallace have always taken care of my crew. The doctors are awesome, nice and very knowledgeable. As the business has grown, the staff (front desk/receptionists) have become younger and with fewer people skills. They have made my last several visits there a nightmare - they are condescending, patronizing, unprofessional and disrespectful. They keep remarks about customers on the computers and today even sat & discussed the notes about me right in front of me. I will admit that I am one of those customers that expects a lot from customer service, but what ever happened to the customer is always right? Now days, there are too many choices for a person to keep going back to poor service.

Welcome to Ridgeview Animal Clinic: Wallace Alexis K DVM

For pet owners in New Albany, Indiana, and the surrounding areas, Ridgeview Animal Clinic, located at 2723 Paoli Pike, operates as a "Pet Hospital" offering veterinary care under the guidance of veterinarians including Dr. Wallace Alexis K DVM and Dr. Hesse. The clinic can be contacted at (812) 945-0423 or via mobile at +1 812-945-0423 for appointments and inquiries. Customer reviews provide a nuanced perspective on the services and overall experience at Ridgeview Animal Clinic, highlighting both its strengths and areas of concern.

One long-term customer, who has been visiting Ridgeview Animal Clinic for approximately 15 years since getting their first dog, initially held the clinic in high regard, considering it "the best vet in the area." This positive initial impression was largely due to the excellent care provided by Dr. Hesse and the "awesome" staff at the time. Over the years, the clinic has grown, now employing three doctors, with the reviewer specifically mentioning positive experiences with both Dr. Hesse and Dr. Wallace, describing them as "awesome, nice and very knowledgeable." This speaks to the veterinary expertise and the quality of medical care provided by the doctors at Ridgeview Animal Clinic.

However, the same long-term customer has observed a significant decline in the quality of the front desk and reception staff as the business has grown. They describe their last several visits as a "nightmare" due to interactions with younger staff members who they perceive as lacking in "people skills." Specific negative attributes mentioned include being "condescending, patronizing, unprofessional and disrespectful." A particularly concerning anecdote shared by the reviewer is that staff members allegedly keep remarks about customers on the computers and, in a recent incident, even discussed these notes about the reviewer in their presence. While the reviewer acknowledges being someone who expects a high level of customer service, they question the disappearance of the principle that "the customer is always right." Frustrated by the poor service, the reviewer concludes that with numerous alternative options available, they may no longer continue to patronize Ridgeview Animal Clinic despite their positive experiences with the veterinarians.

In contrast, another customer offers a more concise review, focusing on the professional and knowledgeable aspects of the clinic while also noting that their services are "very pricey." This reviewer, however, seems to find the higher cost justified, stating, "but you get what you pay for." This suggests that while Ridgeview Animal Clinic may be more expensive than other options, some customers perceive the quality of veterinary care to be commensurate with the price.

As a "Pet Hospital," Ridgeview Animal Clinic, under the care of Dr. Wallace Alexis K DVM and Dr. Hesse, likely offers a range of comprehensive veterinary services. Based on the longevity of one reviewer's patronage and the mention of multiple doctors, the clinic is likely equipped to handle various pet health needs, which may include:

  • General Wellness Exams: Routine check-ups to monitor a pet's overall health, administer vaccinations, and provide preventative care advice. The knowledge attributed to the doctors suggests thorough and informative examinations.
  • Diagnostic Services: Utilizing tools such as laboratory tests (blood work, urinalysis, etc.) and imaging (X-rays, ultrasounds, if available) to diagnose illnesses and injuries. The presence of multiple experienced veterinarians implies access to necessary diagnostic capabilities.
  • Treatment of Illnesses and Injuries: Addressing a wide range of medical conditions, from common ailments to more serious illnesses and injuries.
  • Vaccinations: Administering essential vaccines to protect pets from infectious diseases.
  • Parasite Prevention and Control: Providing recommendations and medications for preventing and treating fleas, ticks, heartworms, and other parasites.
  • Dental Care: Offering dental examinations, cleanings, and potentially extractions to maintain pets' oral health.
  • Surgical Services: Depending on the specialization and facilities of the clinic, surgical procedures, ranging from routine spays and neuters to more complex surgeries, may be offered.
  • Nutritional Counseling: Providing guidance on appropriate diets and nutritional needs for pets at different life stages and with specific health conditions.
  • Management of Chronic Diseases: Developing and implementing treatment plans for pets with long-term health conditions.
  • Prescription Medications: Dispensing necessary medications for treating various conditions.

The features of Ridgeview Animal Clinic, as gleaned from the customer reviews, present a mixed bag. The clinic boasts knowledgeable and professional veterinarians, including Dr. Wallace and Dr. Hesse, who are praised for their expertise and patient care. However, a significant concern has been raised regarding the declining quality and unprofessionalism of the front desk staff, which has negatively impacted the overall customer experience for at least one long-term client. Another noted feature is that the clinic's services are perceived as "pricey," although at least one customer believes the higher cost is justified by the quality of care received from the doctors.

The provided information does not include any details about specific promotional offers or discounts at Ridgeview Animal Clinic. Veterinary clinics sometimes offer incentives such as discounts for new clients, seasonal specials on preventative care services, or bundled service packages. Local pet owners interested in learning about any potential promotions are encouraged to contact the clinic directly or inquire during their visit. Given the contrasting feedback on service quality and pricing, potential clients may want to inquire about the cost of services upfront.

In conclusion, Ridgeview Animal Clinic, where Dr. Wallace Alexis K DVM practices in New Albany, IN, offers the expertise of experienced and knowledgeable veterinarians who have garnered positive feedback for their medical care. However, a significant issue has been raised regarding the unprofessional and disrespectful behavior of the front desk staff, which has severely detracted from the overall customer experience for at least one long-term client. Additionally, the clinic's services are noted to be on the pricier side, although some customers believe this reflects the quality of veterinary care. Local pet owners considering Ridgeview Animal Clinic should weigh the positive feedback regarding the doctors' expertise against the serious concerns about the front desk staff. It may be prudent to consider the importance of both excellent veterinary care and positive customer service when making a decision. Potential clients might also want to inquire about the clinic's policies on customer service and how they address client concerns.
