I have had many good experiences with this vet. They have saved my pets atleast twice from dying or being in excruciating pain. Provided care to my dog when she had a slipped disk and lost the ability to use her back legs. She was able to walk again and 8 years later she is still doing good.

Welcome to Ridge to Rivers Animal Clinic, LLC
Welcome to Ridge to Rivers Animal Clinic, LLC, your dedicated partner in providing exceptional veterinary care for your cherished animal companions. Located at 315 E Decker St in Viroqua, Wisconsin (WI 54665, USA), Ridge to Rivers Animal Clinic functions as a comprehensive Pet Hospital, offering a wide array of services and goods to cater to all aspects of your pet's health and well-being. Understanding the deep bond you share with your pets, the clinic strives to offer compassionate, high-quality medical and surgical care in a comfortable and welcoming environment.
As a local Pet Hospital, Ridge to Rivers Animal Clinic aims to be your first point of contact for all your pet care needs. Whether it's a routine check-up, a complex surgical procedure, or expert advice on pet nutrition, their team of dedicated veterinary professionals is committed to providing the best possible care. The clinic understands that each pet is unique and requires individualized attention, and they pride themselves on their patient-centered approach.
Based on available information, Ridge to Rivers Animal Clinic has garnered both positive and negative feedback from pet owners. One customer shared a heartwarming experience, recounting how the clinic's timely and effective interventions saved their pets on multiple occasions. They specifically highlighted the successful treatment of their dog's slipped disc, which allowed the pet to regain mobility and enjoy a good quality of life for many years. This positive review suggests that the clinic has a history of providing competent and potentially life-saving care, particularly in critical situations.
However, it is essential to acknowledge a significantly negative review detailing a distressing experience. This customer reported a lack of immediate response from the on-call vet during an emergency, followed by a considerable delay in communication. The situation involved a cat with a severe injury, and the customer expressed financial constraints due to being disabled and awaiting their monthly payment. The review further alleges that the front desk staff exhibited rudeness and imposed additional after-hours emergency fees, ultimately leading to the denial of care due to the inability to pay upfront. Tragically, the customer's cat passed away later that day. This account raises serious concerns about the clinic's emergency response protocols, communication practices, and policies regarding payment and access to care, especially during critical situations.
Considering these contrasting experiences, it is crucial for local users to weigh all available information when considering Ridge to Rivers Animal Clinic for their pet care needs. While one review highlights instances of successful and potentially life-saving treatments, the other paints a concerning picture of inadequate emergency response and potentially insensitive handling of a financially vulnerable client during a pet health crisis.
To provide a more comprehensive understanding of Ridge to Rivers Animal Clinic as a Pet Hospital, further information regarding their environment, specific services, and unique features is necessary. Based on typical offerings of a veterinary clinic, we can infer some potential aspects:
Environment: A well-equipped and clean environment is paramount in a Pet Hospital. This typically includes comfortable waiting areas for pet owners and their animals, examination rooms designed for the safety and comfort of pets, surgical suites adhering to strict hygiene standards, and potentially separate recovery areas for animals post-surgery. The clinic likely maintains a sterile environment for all medical procedures to minimize the risk of infection.
Services: As a Pet Hospital, Ridge to Rivers Animal Clinic likely offers a broad spectrum of veterinary services, which may include:
- Preventative Care: This is the cornerstone of pet health and includes routine check-ups, vaccinations, parasite control (fleas, ticks, heartworms), and nutritional counseling to keep your pets healthy and prevent potential health issues.

These tools help veterinarians gain valuable insights into your pet's condition.

- Dental Care: Dental health is crucial for pets' overall well-being. Services may include routine dental cleanings, extractions, and treatment of dental diseases.
- Emergency Care: While the negative review raises concerns about after-hours emergency response, a Pet Hospital typically offers emergency services during its operating hours for critical and urgent medical needs. It is important to clarify their specific emergency protocols and availability.
- Internal Medicine: This encompasses the diagnosis and treatment of various internal organ system disorders, such as gastrointestinal issues, endocrine diseases, and respiratory problems.
- Dermatology: Addressing skin and ear conditions, which are common in pets, may be another service offered.
- Nutritional Counseling: Providing guidance on appropriate diets for different life stages and health conditions is an important aspect of pet care.
- Behavioral Counseling: Some clinics may offer advice and support for addressing behavioral issues in pets.

Mar 18, 2025 · Dhalia RoseActually I give negative 5 stars but Google will not let me. The on call vet didnt answer their phone. So I text them and wasn't answered until 5 hours and 46minutes later. My cat was missing half his toe and all of his nail from what I cud tell and was throwing up a yellow liquid ALOT of yellow liquid I was under the impression that I cud bring him in when I was told it was cost me $250 for the vet visit due to it was a Saturday which I was more then willing to pay. I informed Rylie who works at front desk and the online vet that I'm disabled and did not get paid until end of month and this was an unexpected crisis and cud not but WUD pay in 11 days. Rylie was incredibly rude to me. Rylie then told me another $175 WUD b added to my bill for after hours emergency care cause I WUD have been maybe 5minutes past noon. Then her words exactly DONT BOTHER SHOWING UP IF U DONT HAVE THE MONEY UP FRONT. My cat ADDLE died later that day.

Dec 01, 2022 · Tammy GadouasI would give them 10 stars for their off the charts service and attitude. Friendly, knowledgeable and kind, the staff treats my two geriatric cats as though they were family. They also help this geriatric woman, carrying them from car to clinic and back again. I drive from Sparta to Viroqua for their excellent care, and would never bring my cats anywhere else.
