This suggests a welcoming and calm atmosphere, crucial for anxious pets. The hospital's commitment to creating a positive experience is further underscored by its **Fear Free certification**, an indication that the staff are trained in techniques to reduce fear, anxiety, and stress in veterinary patients. This proactive approach to emotional well-being complements their medical care. As a modern "Pet Hospital," it is expected that the facility maintains a clean, well-organized, and professional setting, equipped with the necessary amenities for effective veterinary practice.
The clinic maintains regular hours from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and on Saturdays from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, remaining closed on Sundays. This schedule allows for consistent access to care during typical business hours, with convenient Saturday availability for pet owners.
As a full-service "Pet Hospital," Ridge Animal Hospital offers an extensive array of veterinary services to address the diverse health needs of cats and dogs. Their comprehensive approach ensures that pets receive continuous and holistic care throughout their lives. Key services include:
- Preventative Care and Wellness: This foundational aspect of pet health includes thorough wellness exams, tailored vaccination protocols (e.g., rabies, parvovirus), parasite prevention (flea, tick, heartworm), and nutritional counseling to maintain optimal health and prevent disease.
- Advanced Diagnostics: The hospital is equipped with robust diagnostic capabilities, including **digital radiography (X-rays)** and **in-house laboratory services** for rapid and accurate blood work, urinalysis, and fecal exams. These tools allow veterinarians to investigate internal conditions, injuries, and illnesses thoroughly and efficiently. They also offer ultrasonography for more detailed imaging.
- Pet Dental Care: Recognizing the importance of oral health, Ridge Animal Hospital provides comprehensive dental services, including professional dental cleanings, extractions, and other treatments to prevent dental disease and promote overall well-being.
- Surgical Procedures: The experienced team performs a wide range of surgical procedures, from routine **spaying and neutering** to more complex soft tissue surgeries. They prioritize creating a "stress-free and relaxing environment" for surgical patients, ensuring high-quality care from pre-operative assessment through post-operative recovery.
- Pet Behavior Counseling: Addressing behavioral issues is an important part of pet health. The clinic helps diagnose behavioral problems and develops treatment plans, recognizing that behavioral concerns can often stem from underlying medical conditions or benefit from targeted interventions.
- Specialized and Advanced Treatments: Ridge Animal Hospital goes beyond basic care with offerings such as **Acupuncture**, a gentle, non-invasive approach rooted in ancient Chinese medicine, and **Stem Cell Therapy**, commonly used for chronic conditions like arthritis and injuries to ligaments, tendons, bones, joints, and the spine.
- Canine Reproduction Services: For breeders, the hospital offers specialized reproductive services, catering to both novice and professional needs.
- Pharmacy & Pet Products: An in-house pharmacy provides convenient access to specialty foods, medications for preventive care and illnesses, including flea & tick preventatives.
- Emergency Pet Care: While the primary focus is on scheduled appointments, Ridge Animal Hospital provides urgent or emergency care during its office hours. They also provide information and guidance for after-hours emergency pet care in the Middleport area, ensuring continuity of support.
- End-of-Life Pet Care: Offering compassionate support during difficult times, the hospital provides humane options for end-of-life care, including euthanasia, with sensitivity and understanding.
Ridge Animal Hospital's reputation as a premier "Pet Hospital" is built upon several key distinguishing features and a deeply compassionate philosophy:
- **AAHA Accreditation:** The hospital is **AAHA (American Animal Hospital Association) certified**, signifying adherence to a high standard of care that encompasses all aspects of veterinary medicine. This voluntary accreditation demonstrates a commitment to excellence and quality, exceeding the basic standards required by law.
- **Fear Free Certification:** As mentioned, their **Fear Free certification** highlights a proactive commitment to the emotional well-being of their patients. This training ensures that techniques are employed to minimize fear, anxiety, and stress, making veterinary visits less traumatic for pets.
- **Skilled and Caring Staff:** Reviewers consistently praise the "skilled and caring" veterinarians and staff. This combination of medical expertise and genuine empathy is crucial for building trust with both pets and their owners. The sentiment "They treat her like a queen" and "treat me kindly as well" underscores the personalized and considerate approach.
- **Client-Centric Communication:** The ability of the vets and staff to communicate effectively, treating clients "kindly," indicates a practice that values client education and involvement in their pet's health journey. This fosters a collaborative relationship.
- **Consistent Positive Experiences:** The repeated praise from long-term clients ("I highly recommend them," "She's definitely feeling better and up to no good again!!!") speaks to the consistent delivery of high-quality care and positive outcomes. The fact that a pet "doesn't mind going there" is a strong indicator of a positive patient experience, reflecting the staff's gentle handling and the clinic's calming environment.
- **Community-Oriented Approach:** Being a "neighborhood animal hospital," Ridge Animal Hospital prides itself on working with pet owners to develop individualized health plans, emphasizing that "the health and happiness of our little (and big!) patients are paramount." This focus on individual patient needs rather than a one-size-fits-all approach is a significant feature.
While specific seasonal promotions are not detailed, Ridge Animal Hospital effectively promotes itself through its unwavering commitment to quality care and client satisfaction. Key aspects of their "promotional" outreach and community standing include:
- Strong Client Testimonials: The authentic reviews are the most powerful form of promotion, providing direct, enthusiastic endorsements of the hospital's compassionate and effective care. Such word-of-mouth recommendations are invaluable in building reputation and attracting new clients.
- Digital Accessibility and Convenience: The hospital offers a **new mobile app through PetDesk** and **online booking** capabilities. This technological integration allows clients to easily schedule appointments, request medication refills, and view/share vaccination records, enhancing convenience and accessibility. This modern approach is highly appealing to today's pet owners.
- Transparency in Care: The explicit listing of diverse services, including specialized treatments, allows pet owners to understand the full scope of care available, instilling confidence in the hospital's capabilities.
- Commitment to Professional Standards (AAHA & Fear Free): Highlighting their AAHA accreditation and Fear Free certification publicly serves as a strong promotional message, assuring prospective clients of the clinic's commitment to the highest industry standards for medical care and patient well-being.
- Clear Contact and Location Information: The readily available phone numbers and precise address make it easy for new and existing clients to connect with the hospital, underscoring their accessibility as a local resource.

Apr 02, 2025 · Diane WattsThe Vets and staff at RAH are skilled and caring. They take the best care of my shelties and treat me kindly as well. I highly recommend them.
Jan 14, 2025 · Emily AtwaterEveryone knows Faith there, so they all brought her treats to calm her. She had been there so much to have blood drawn, she shakes now. But by time Dr. Lewis came in, she had calmed down (and had already had her blood drawn). Dr. Lewis sat on the floor with her and gave her more treats, and I think Faith may now get over shaking when she goes there. You guys are all so wonderful!!
