I didn't think Dr. Reisner was still in business so I didn't write a review sooner. I consulted with her two years ago, and as one of the other reviewers mentioned, communication was a serious problem. So much so that when my dog had severe problems with the medication we were trying, she didn't respond to me for about 2 months. I took him off it myself and tried to get her to answer my emails. After two months I emailed her again asking if she had gotten my email two months prior and she said yes. Then she had the audacity to tell me that if I wanted her to have a conversation about that and a couple of other things I'd have to pay her more money. My email that she didn't bother to answer was well within our agreed on consultation period. She basically ran out the clock and then wanted me to pay more. Since then I went to University of Pennsylvania Vet Hospital's Behavioral Clinic which meant another $500 consultation fee on top of Dr. Reisner's. I was surprised at, by comparison, how little I had gotten from Dr. Reisner. Dr. Reisner never examined my dog, which she should have, we had a one hour consultation instead of the two hours I got at Penn, my emails to Penn's clinic were answered within 48 hours (no one asked me to call the next day to remind them to answer as she did), and she didn't follow up with a written report. I certainly wouldn't recommend her.

Sep 22, 2023 · Kathy HicksI was very hopeful when Dr. Reisner was recommended to me to help my very anxious/reactive dog. Overall, she is very kind, compassionate, and truly wants to help each animal and owner she works with. Unfortunately, after working with her for over 2 years I still have not found a medication regimen that has fully helped my dog (partly due to his level of complexity, partly due to the urban environment in which I live, and partly due to inconsistent communication on her end). When I first started working with her, I was told that I would be able to discuss progress once every week via email, phone, or text. This was far from the case (e.g., not always responsive, can take weeks to respond, sometimes needs reminders). Had I been able to actually speak with her as promised, maybe we would have been able to find a medication dose or medication regimen that would work for my dog (but I also understand medication does not work for every dog). That being said, when I have had concerns/questions and I send reminders, she does eventually respond, and she has also been very flexible with the duration that she has worked with me. I am confident that she has been able to help many many dogs, and I know that my experience might be unique to my situation (especially since, from what I understand, most dogs respond well to certain medications, and for some reason my dog did not really respond to any or showed very small progress that was not necessarily measurable). Edit: after seeing my review, she personally reached out to me and asked if there is anything that she can do to make it right and expressed understanding of my frustration, showing me that she truly does care about her work and the people/dogs she works with.
Jul 08, 2023 · Elizabeth D.Veterinarian behavioralists are super hard to find. Dr. Reisner was responsive and had a great website to learn more info about services rendered. The wait times across the country are atrociously long (some had wait times of 6-8 months), so I was excited to hear about just a 6 week wait to have my dog be seen. Once I have our appointment, I will update the review. So far, so good though. 👍 Excited to get support for my little guy.
Mar 16, 2021 · Christina GraberI first met Dr. Reisner 6 months ago when she came to my home to meet my fearful/anxious 10 month old puppy. She met with my entire family and we all felt comfortable with her. I was immediately confident in her ability to understand my dog’s significant issues. Due to some negative past experiences with dog trainers my husband was hesitant to hire a veterinary behaviorist, but after our meeting with Dr. Reisner he was on board. We both appreciated that she wasn’t trying to tell us to change our lives (we have 3 young kids). Instead she wanted to help us get Chloe to a point where she would be comfortable in our home. She developed a plan for us, has been continually available through text and email whenever I have questions or just need to vent and is always willing to listen and adjust our “plan” as the situation warrants. Thanks to Dr. Reisner I am finally able to see my sweet girl was her tail, play with toys and be comfortable with the world around her. I can’t say enough good things about Reisner Behavior Services!!
Jun 19, 2019 · Jen SandI have been to many vet offices in my long life. This one is special. The place feels like they actually care about your pet. Almost as importantly they seem to make a point of not robbing you. It's a very good place.
