Jan 25, 2025 · Mari TWhat happened to our family should have never happened and will hopefully never happen to anyone else after reading this review. This is for all loving pet owners to warn against taking your pets to Randall Orchard Crossing Animal Hospital. We had been going to ROCAH for a few years now with both of our dogs, originally because both of them needing dental cleaning. Wanting to stay local and needing something that wouldn't break the bank, we brought them to ROCAH. After one of our dogs came out with an injured disc in his neck following one of his two dental procedures in 2020, we were starting to become very concerned about the qualifications and care our dogs were receiving. Acknowledging that surgical/dental procedure outcomes are not always optimal, we continued to bring our dogs to this hospital, but decided for annual check-ups and vaccinations only. One of our beloved dogs passed away on January 29th 2025 within 30 hours after leaving this clinic from what was supposed to be just an annual routine check- up. My husband brought in our two playful and happy dogs for their annual check-ups on January 28th 2025. During this visit we learned that our 13 year-old dog's heart murmur has worsened, so we decided to go ahead with an X-ray to see if he now qualified for heart medication. He has not exhibited any symptoms at home, aside from occasional coughing after consuming water up to this point. The X-ray showed that he in fact qualified for medication, and that his trachea is in the beginning stages of collapsing. Given that information and our dog visibly being in distress just from being at the vet, the doctor on staff advised us to still give him his annual vaccinations. Not being medical professionals ourselves, my husband questioned whether the vaccines were necessary at this juncture given his situation. Upon hearing his concerns, she nonetheless recommended administering the Leptospirosis vaccine to him. Our dogs have received every single vaccination thus far, and we are not opposed to vaccinations. However, this particular instance did not feel right. Nevertheless, she took him to the back to squeeze in that vaccine despite his clear distress, as evidenced by his rapid heartbeat and labored breathing. Within the hour of this annual check- up, he went into imminent heart failure. We ended up having to make the difficult decision to take him out of his misery and let him go. We tried calling ROCAH multiple times and begged the receptionist to please send over the X-ray and every single bit of information they have to the emergency vet, but he never did, and they never called us back. To this day, they never called. We know that if the doctor on staff hadn't given our dog the vaccine on top of his already poor condition shown on the X-ray and his visibly distressed situation, our dog would've had a fighting chance and would still be alive today. We NOW know that she and other “medical professionals” at this office have advised us very poorly over the years, especially given his heart murmur, which was never announced as an urgent concern by any of the doctors on staff until January 28th. We wanted to believe that this hospital has the best interest in mind for our dogs and not our money, but so many odd and ill advised situations have occurred that make us believe that they do not care and that under the care of this clinic, our dog sustained injuries and distress that weren't necessary and ultimately shortened our dog’s life. Choose your vet wisely, do your own research, and trust your instincts. Money is not always worth saving; we learned this the hardest way possible and we will never forgive ourselves for it. We will never EVER be back again!
Feb 03, 2025 · Jen G.This Veterinarian has to be hands down.... The best in the business. Thinking only of the good of the patients and not how to soak the owners. I have been with this particular vet for some time and there is no one else that I would ever consider leaving the care of my 6 very beloved cat's with. She has a heart of gold and finds a practical way of treating whether then costly. Try them, I do not write many reviews, I have to be very passionate about the what I am reviewing. Caring, Loving and knowledgeable. They treat you like family and there is no substitute for that.
