Rancho Sequoia Veterinary Hospital, located at 3380 E Los Angeles Ave, Simi Valley, CA 93063, USA, serves as a dedicated pet hospital for the local community. With a focus on providing comprehensive care for a variety of pets, this facility aims to address the health and well-being of your beloved animal companions. You can reach them by phone at (805) 522-7476 or mobile at +1 805-522-7476.
As a Pet Hospital platform category, Rancho Sequoia Veterinary Hospital offers a range of services and goods specifically tailored to animal health. This includes, but is not limited to, diagnostic services, medical treatments, surgical procedures, and preventative care. The overarching goal is to support pet owners in maintaining their animals' optimal health throughout their lives.
The environment at Rancho Sequoia Veterinary Hospital aims to be welcoming and professional. While specific details about the interior decor or waiting areas are not explicitly available, the nature of a veterinary hospital suggests an environment designed to accommodate pets and their owners comfortably. This typically includes a reception area for check-ins, examination rooms for consultations, and potentially specialized areas for surgery or boarding, depending on the scope of their facilities. A professional setting helps to ensure that clients feel confident in the care their pets are receiving, while also creating a calm atmosphere for animals who may be experiencing stress due to their visit. The general expectation for a veterinary hospital is a clean, organized, and adequately equipped space to handle various pet health needs.
In terms of services, Rancho Sequoia Veterinary Hospital, as a full-service pet hospital, is expected to provide a broad spectrum of veterinary care. This typically encompasses routine check-ups and vaccinations, which are crucial for preventative health and disease prevention. Beyond preventative care, they likely offer diagnostic services such as blood tests, urinalysis, and potentially imaging services like X-rays or ultrasounds to accurately diagnose illnesses or injuries. Medical treatments for various conditions, including infections, allergies, and chronic diseases, would also be a staple. Surgical services, ranging from routine spaying and neutering to more complex procedures, are generally available at such facilities. The provision of medications, often directly from an on-site pharmacy, is a common convenience that allows pet owners to easily obtain necessary prescriptions after a consultation. Nutritional counseling and weight management programs may also be offered to help pets maintain a healthy lifestyle. Given its classification as a pet hospital, it's reasonable to infer that the facility is equipped to handle emergency cases during its operating hours, providing critical care when immediate attention is needed. Furthermore, they likely provide guidance on parasite control, dental care, and senior pet care, addressing the specific needs of pets at different life stages.
A notable feature of Rancho Sequoia Veterinary Hospital, based on customer feedback, appears to be the professionalism and kindness of its staff, particularly from the front desk to the doctors. One customer specifically highlighted the gentle approach taken with their kitten and the clear explanations provided regarding necessary health procedures for their new pet. This emphasis on clear communication and a compassionate approach with animals is a significant strength and suggests a client-focused service model. For pet owners, understanding their pet's health needs and the recommended treatments is paramount, and a veterinary team that takes the time to explain these details can build trust and confidence. The recommendation from an existing client also points to a positive overall experience, suggesting a consistent level of quality care that fosters loyalty among pet owners in the community.
However, it is important to provide a balanced perspective, as customer experiences can vary. One review highlighted concerns regarding communication and the outcome of care for a dog with a serious illness. This customer expressed regret over the treatment received, citing issues with communication primarily being through the receptionist rather than directly with the doctor, and a perceived decline in their dog's condition after treatment. While the review acknowledges the dog's pre-existing conditions, it raises points about the perceived effectiveness of care and post-treatment communication. This particular feedback underscores the importance of clear, consistent, and direct communication between veterinarians and pet owners, especially in critical situations, to ensure expectations are managed and information is conveyed effectively. It also highlights the emotional investment pet owners have in their animals and the significant impact that the outcome of medical care can have on their perception of a veterinary hospital.
Regarding promotional information, while specific current promotions are not available, pet hospitals often engage in various initiatives to attract and retain clients. This can include introductory offers for new clients, such as discounted first exams, or package deals for puppy and kitten wellness plans that cover initial vaccinations and deworming. Seasonal promotions, such as discounted dental cleanings during pet dental health month, or specials on preventative medications like flea and tick control, are also common. Community outreach programs, like offering educational seminars on pet care or participating in local adoption events, can also serve as promotional activities that showcase the hospital's commitment to animal welfare beyond their direct services. Client loyalty programs, where repeat visits or referrals earn discounts or credits, are another way veterinary hospitals promote their services and encourage continued patronage. These types of promotions not only provide value to pet owners but also reinforce the hospital's dedication to accessible and comprehensive pet care.
In conclusion, Rancho Sequoia Veterinary Hospital presents itself as a dedicated facility for pet care in Simi Valley. It aims to provide a comprehensive range of veterinary services, from routine preventative care to more complex medical and surgical interventions. The positive feedback emphasizes the professional and kind demeanor of the staff and their commitment to clear communication, which are valuable attributes for any pet care provider. While some reviews indicate areas where communication or outcomes may not have met certain expectations, reflecting the challenges inherent in complex medical cases, the hospital's commitment to animal health and well-being appears to be central to its operations. For local pet owners, Rancho Sequoia Veterinary Hospital offers a convenient option for veterinary services, striving to meet the diverse health needs of their animal companions.

Apr 21, 2025 · Rhonda GiffordMy dog passed away a little more than one month after first going to this clinic. I did everything they told me. I gave her the medications they recommended, lab tests, diagnostic tests and surgery. She literally died days after picking her up the last time I took her in. When I dropped her off she could walk when I picked her up she couldn’t walk anymore and kept falling down. I left her there for two nights for IV fluids. One day they told me she was doing better than they tell me she needs to stay longer for more fluids. Two days I lost with her and when she returned to me she wasn’t even the same dog. The receptionist is the only one you speak to regarding test results and diagnosis which is extremely inappropriate. The only time you can talk to the doctor is if you have an appointment. However, I kept going back hoping and praying they could give me a little more time with my dog. In the end all they did was rob me of what little time I had left with her. After all I entrusted them with they didn’t even return a phone call / message I left on the voice mail the last time I picked her up. I feel like they knew she was going to die and they weren’t going to get anymore money from me so they didn’t bother calling back. Now I’m sure they will say she was old, she had cancer she was going to die and all that is true. However, in my heart I regret ever taking her there. Not that I feel some place else could have cured her but I feel she would still be alive if I did.
Apr 21, 2025 · Lisa CoxExtremely Disappointed with Rancho Sequoia Veterinary Hospital To preface this, I did request for the office staff to have Dr. Kang see me or call me to discuss this. After a day and a half, they chose not to reach out to discuss my concern, so I am moving forward with posting this. It saddens me to reach the point that I need to do this as until this point, I have enjoyed my interactions with Dr. Kang and the staff. I am deeply frustrated with the recent experience I’ve had with Rancho Sequoia Veterinary Hospital and feel compelled to share them to help other pet owners make informed decisions. 1. Excessive Prescription Markups – I was shocked to discover that a necessary medication for my dog was being sold by Rancho Sequoia Veterinary Hospital at 2.5 times the cost available through reputable retailers like Chewy.com and Costco ($54.99 vs $135.08). This kind of markup on a lifelong medication feels incredibly unethical. 2. Unreasonable Withholding of Written Prescriptions – I was denied a written prescription for my dog just three weeks after a check-up appointment. I was told I’d need to bring the dog in again for a check-up—clearly a way to charge for another visit unnecessarily. 3. Inconsistent and Contradictory Practices – For another dog, I was again refused a written prescription under the same pretense, even though they had just provided a written script for the exact same medication the month prior. I originally submitted that prescription to Costco, but due to ongoing supply issues that Costco was experiencing, I simply wanted to transfer it to Chewy.com. Still, they refused, despite already having prescribed the medication, and willfully filling the prescription for me in-office (this one at a 2 times markup – $24.99 vs $48.90)! 4. Lack of Communication and Empathy – The vet has not taken the time to directly address my concerns or explain the reasoning behind these questionable practices. It feels as though the priority is no longer the health and well-being of my pets, but rather squeezing more money out of loyal clients. Sadly, after a couple of short years of trusting this clinic, I can no longer recommend Rancho Sequoia Veterinary Hospital. Pet care should be driven by compassion and ethics—not profit. I had originally moved over to this clinic ever since it became so difficult to get appointments at our previous veterinary clinic for our dogs due to their growing popularity. It looks like I will be switching back to our previous clinic.
