We brought our dog to this vet for years and truly trusted them — we were very close and relied on their guidance. Over time, we spent thousands of dollars on allergy food, allergy shots, and repeated vet visits based on their treatment plan. It wasn’t until my sister-in-law sought a second opinion at a different vet (after questioning the recommended care) that we found out the shots and many of those costly visits were completely unnecessary. I feel devastated that we subjected our dog to this. I would never, ever bring a pet here again. It feels inhumane and deeply unjust, and I hope others are spared this experience.

When evaluating a pet hospital, it is essential to consider the experiences of other pet owners. The available reviews for Ramsey Animal Clinic present a mixed picture, with one expressing significant dissatisfaction and another offering high praise. It is crucial for prospective clients to consider both perspectives when making an informed decision about their pet's care.

One detailed review recounts a long-term experience with Ramsey Animal Clinic, spanning several years. During this time, the pet owner and their family developed a close relationship with the clinic and placed considerable trust in their guidance. Over the years, they report spending a substantial amount of money on allergy-related treatments for their dog, including specialized food, allergy shots, and numerous veterinary visits, all based on the clinic's recommended treatment plan. However, the reviewer states that after their sister-in-law suggested seeking a second opinion from a different veterinarian, it was discovered that the allergy shots and many of the costly visits were, in fact, "completely unnecessary." This revelation understandably led to feelings of devastation and concern for the well-being of their dog, who was subjected to treatments that were later deemed unwarranted. As a result of this experience, the reviewer expresses a strong stance against returning to Ramsey Animal Clinic and hopes that other pet owners can avoid a similar situation, describing the experience as "inhumane and deeply unjust." This review raises serious concerns about the diagnostic and treatment protocols followed in this particular case.

In contrast, another pet owner shares a very positive experience at Ramsey Animal Clinic. They brought their dog, Pepper, to the clinic and were "amazed" by the wonderful demeanor of both the doctor and the staff. This reviewer specifically appreciated that the doctor did not pressure them into any unwanted procedures. Instead, the doctor took the time to thoroughly explain the purpose of each recommended action, fostering a sense of transparency and shared decision-making. The examination itself was described as "very thorough," and the doctor even provided additional information and things to watch out for at home. Based on this positive experience, the reviewer enthusiastically recommends Ramsey Animal Clinic to other pet owners, referring to their pets as "fur babies." This review highlights the doctor's communicative approach, thoroughness, and the positive interactions with the staff.

Considering these two contrasting reviews, it is challenging to form a definitive overall assessment of Ramsey Animal Clinic without more information. The positive review suggests a caring and communicative approach, where the veterinarian prioritizes explaining procedures and respecting the owner's decisions. The negative review, however, raises significant concerns about the potential for unnecessary and costly treatments, highlighting the importance of thorough diagnostics and the value of seeking second opinions in complex or prolonged cases.

As a pet hospital, Ramsey Animal Clinic likely offers a range of services commonly provided by such facilities. While the specific services are not detailed in the provided reviews, typical offerings may include:

  • General Wellness Examinations: Routine check-ups are essential for maintaining your pet's health and detecting potential issues early. The thoroughness mentioned in the positive review suggests this may be a strength of the clinic.
  • Vaccinations: Protecting pets from common and potentially life-threatening diseases through vaccinations is a standard service.
  • Parasite Prevention and Control: Preventing and treating infestations of fleas, ticks, heartworms, and intestinal parasites is crucial for pet health.
  • Dental Care: Maintaining good oral hygiene is important for overall pet well-being, and services may include dental cleanings and examinations.
  • Diagnostic Services: To accurately diagnose illnesses, pet hospitals typically offer various diagnostic tools, such as laboratory testing (blood work, urinalysis) and imaging (X-rays). The negative review implicitly raises questions about the accuracy and necessity of diagnostics in their case.
  • Medical Treatment: For pets who are sick or injured, medical treatment, including medication and supportive care, would be provided. The allergy treatment described in the negative review falls under this category.
  • Surgical Procedures: Depending on the clinic's facilities and the expertise of the veterinarians, they may offer a range of surgical services, from routine spays and neuters to more complex procedures.
  • Nutritional Counseling: Providing guidance on appropriate pet nutrition is often part of a comprehensive veterinary service. The mention of "allergy food" in the negative review indicates that dietary management is offered.

The environment of Ramsey Animal Clinic is not described in detail in the provided reviews. However, based on typical pet hospital settings, it would likely include examination rooms, waiting areas, and potentially surgical suites and areas for housing recovering animals. The atmosphere and cleanliness of the clinic can significantly impact a pet owner's experience, but no information is available on these aspects from the given reviews.

Features of Ramsey Animal Clinic that can be gleaned from the reviews include the doctor's willingness to explain procedures and avoid pressuring clients into unwanted treatments (as mentioned in the positive review). However, a significant concern raised is the potential for recommending and administering treatments that may later be deemed unnecessary, leading to substantial costs and potential discomfort for the pet (as detailed in the negative review).

No information regarding specific promotional offers or discounts at Ramsey Animal Clinic is available in the provided text. It is common for pet hospitals to occasionally offer promotions for certain services or to new clients. Interested individuals would need to contact the clinic directly to inquire about any current specials.

In conclusion, Ramsey Animal Clinic in Ramsey, NJ, presents a complex picture based on the limited available reviews. One pet owner experienced a positive interaction characterized by a thorough and communicative doctor who respected their decisions. However, another pet owner recounts a deeply concerning experience involving years of costly allergy treatments that were later found to be unnecessary. This stark contrast highlights the importance for pet owners to communicate openly with their veterinarian, ask questions about recommended treatments, and potentially seek second opinions when significant or prolonged treatment plans are suggested. Prospective clients of Ramsey Animal Clinic should consider these differing experiences and make their own informed decision based on their individual needs and comfort level, perhaps seeking additional reviews or a preliminary consultation to assess the clinic's approach to care.

I took my dog Pepper here and was amazed with how wonderful the doctor and staff was. The doctor didn't force us to do anything we didn't want to do. He talked and explained what each thing he wanted to do was for. He was very thorough in the exam as well and even explained some things for me to look out for! I would definitely recommend coming to him with your fur babies!

We have never met a veterinarian like the one that is the owner of "Ramsey Animal Clinic". Our Bernedoodle had to come here 2 weeks ago because she had fever, severe ear infection an inflamed gland and the list goes on. She was really sick poor baby. This vet and his assistant did such an amazing job. He has even called several days to check on our dog! Haven't experienced that before, so yes definitely 100% recommend this vet and his clinic!

Dr Bishnoi saw my pup from when he was 9 weeks to two years old, I unfortunately had to find a new Vet because I moved. Dr Bishnoi truly cared for my pup and has always gone out of his way to check in on him. What ever last minute needs my pup had, Dr Bishnoi was always there and willing to accommodate to ensure he got the care he needed. The woman working with him who also helps care for the patients was always extremely kind as well. I wish them and their business nothing but the best!

I cant even bring myself to write about what happened at this vet. My daughter is in counseling after how they killed our sick cat so inhumanely instead of just euthanazing her. She died on the way home in the car. Walked into the carrier to go there. The vet assistant lady with gray hair is a malevolent person who just wants your money.they insisted on running lab work on an animal they knew died on the car ride home. If you care about your animals don't go here. There's a reason there are no cars in their parking lot and they can see you the same day.
