Looks like my previous review was taken down and have to say again that we love Rainier Vet. We have been bringing our pups here for almost 20 years. They have seen me through two beloved pets rainbow crossings and the care of 5 pups over all the years. They are kind, accommodating and supportive in their care. They have often times been able to create a same day or next day appointment or at the very least have a doctor call to help consult with me. If you are looking for a place to take your beloveds this is it!

Rainier Veterinary Hospital Introduce
Welcome to Rainier Veterinary Hospital, a long-standing and highly recommended veterinary care facility located at 815 Rainier Ave S, Seattle, WA 98144, USA. For local pet owners seeking a reliable and deeply compassionate 'Pet Hospital' in their vicinity, Rainier Veterinary Hospital has been a pillar of support for nearly two decades. Serving the community with unwavering dedication, they have earned the trust and gratitude of numerous pet owners, as reflected in their heartfelt reviews.
One loyal client, who has been bringing their "pups" (plural, indicating multiple pets over time) to Rainier Veterinary Hospital for almost 20 years, speaks volumes about the consistent quality of care provided. This long-term relationship highlights the hospital's ability to build lasting trust with pet owners. The reviewer notes that the team at Rainier Veterinary Hospital has been a source of support through both joyful times, caring for five puppies over the years, and incredibly difficult periods, helping them navigate the "rainbow crossings" of two beloved pets. This longevity of patronage underscores the hospital's commitment to providing comprehensive care throughout a pet's life.
The отзыв (review) further emphasizes the kindness, accommodation, and supportive nature of the staff. The ability to often secure same-day or next-day appointments, or at the very least receive a timely phone consultation with a doctor, demonstrates their commitment to addressing pet owners' concerns promptly. The reviewer concludes with a strong recommendation for anyone seeking a place to entrust their "beloveds," reinforcing the hospital's reputation for reliable and accessible care.
Another deeply moving review recounts a critical experience involving a beloved pet named Kiki. The pet owner rushed Kiki to Rainier Veterinary Hospital in a state of distress, barely able to speak beyond a plea for help. The immediate response of the hospital staff was remarkable. They took Kiki into the back for urgent care, providing comfort and necessary medication to stabilize her condition, all before obtaining any personal information or financial assurances from the distraught owner. This selfless act profoundly impressed the reviewer, who recognized that the priority was Kiki's life and comfort above all else. This initial interaction instilled a deep sense of trust in the hospital's genuine care for animals.
Once Kiki was stable, the veterinary team provided reassurance in a private room, explaining the necessary tests and associated costs transparently. The pet owner's immediate trust in the team led them to authorize whatever necessary treatment, even at the highest estimated cost. The hospital proceeded with extensive testing, including sending samples to a specialist to accurately diagnose Kiki's condition. Tragically, the diagnosis revealed a severe heart condition with complications from which Kiki would not recover. The veterinarian took the time to thoroughly explain the findings, addressing all of the owner's questions with care and compassion, even the difficult ones. Demonstrating exceptional dedication, the veterinarian even consulted with another specialty hospital to explore any potential next steps, ultimately confirming the grim prognosis and the likelihood of decreased quality of life and pain for Kiki.
Faced with the heart-wrenching decision to let Kiki go, the pet owner found immense comfort in the veterinarian's presence and support during this incredibly difficult time. Upon leaving, the front desk staff also offered hugs, further highlighting the exceptional compassion extended by every member of the facility. In a final act of kindness, the hospital charged the pet owner the lower end of the initial cost estimate, despite the extensive tests performed. This act of empathy and care during a devastating experience left the reviewer deeply grateful and resolute in bringing their other pets to Rainier Veterinary Hospital moving forward.
The reviewer specifically acknowledges Dr. Nicholson, the veterinarian who played a crucial role in Kiki's care, expressing profound gratitude for the difference made in an impossible situation. This personal acknowledgment underscores the expertise and empathy of the individual veterinarians at Rainier Veterinary Hospital.
While these reviews primarily focus on the exceptional care and compassionate staff, they also provide insights into the hospital environment. The prompt and efficient handling of emergencies, the availability of private consultation rooms, and the overall supportive atmosphere suggest a well-organized and caring facility designed to prioritize the comfort of both pets and their owners during stressful times. The emphasis on clear communication regarding diagnoses and treatment options further indicates a professional and transparent approach to veterinary medicine.
The reviews do not contain any specific promotional information, such as discounts or special offers. However, the consistent praise for the quality of care, the dedication of the staff, and the genuine compassion demonstrated by Rainier Veterinary Hospital serve as compelling reasons for local pet owners to choose this facility. The willingness to prioritize a pet's well-being above immediate financial considerations, as highlighted in the emergency situation, speaks volumes about their ethical and patient-centered approach.

Jan 16, 2025 · Daniel HansonRainier Veterinary hospital truly was incredible. I had rushed my sweet girl Kiki into the hospital. I came in sobbing to the point I couldn’t even talk aside from saying “please help her” they immediately took her from me and brought her into the back. They made her comfortable meds and made sure she was stable. They did this all before getting any information from me or even knowing if I had the money to pay for any of it (I did). It was the fact that I could tell before anything else her life and comfort was more important than what they knew I could offer. That alone made me feel like I could trust them with her. After they knew she was stable, they came and reassured me in a private room she was stable and told me what tests they’d like to run and the range of what it would all cost. I said whatever they have to do I trust them to do and I told them even at the highest cost I would do it if they felt it was necessary. They ran so many tests to see what was wrong and sent them out to a specialist to confirm what was wrong. Unfortunately my baby had a heart condition with complications that she wouldn’t be able to recover from. This was devastating, and the worst possible news I could’ve gotten. The Veterinarian who helped us, in depth explained what they found and why it was so bad. She answered all my questions, even the uncomfortable ones. She was so caring and compassionate I knew I could trust what she was saying. She even went as far as to call another specialty hospital to see what could the next steps be but still it was very grim and likely would’ve decreased her quality of life and caused her a lot of pain for the short amount of time she’d have left. I had to make the hardest decision I’ve ever had, and let my baby go. When it was time the Veterinarian sat with me as I cried and comforted me all the way through it. On the way out the front desk staff came and hugged me before I left. The compassion and care I felt from every member of this facility was second to none. When I got the bill, they charged me for the lesser amount of what they quoted me even after doing all of the tests. They showed me kindness and care where they didn’t have to and for that I’m so thankful. I’ll be bringing my other babies here from now on. It was the worst day of my life but they did everything they could to save her and for that I’m so grateful. They did so much more than they had to and you could tell these people genuinely care about the animals and people they take care of. Thank you specifically to my veterinarian Dr. Nicholson, you truly made a difference in an impossible situation and I can’t thank you enough for what you did for my sweet girl and me.
Mar 05, 2025 · Allex SodermanI walked in to see if I could get a couple days' of pain meds for our pup as my previous vet was closed and ended up switching my services here. Michele at the front desk was awesome and we were lucky to find Dr. Valenta who had previously seen our pup at another clinic. She did a more thorough exam (at lower price than our previous vet) and gave us new (and better options) to consider. Highly recommend Rainier Veterinary Hospital - Everyone here is nice, caring, and compassionate. Plus the facilities are clean and spacious.
Mar 16, 2025 · Royce LeeWe rescued a Shih Tzu off the street and we called around to all the vets in the Seattle area and they were all full but Rainer Vet was there for us to come in the next day. They were great with the dog and we will be going back.
Oct 11, 2024 · Tony Da-TigerI’ve been taking my dog (5 years old) and cat (10 years) to rainier since moving to south Seattle in 2021. This was prior to their renovation and through it all the quality of care, transparency, and helpfulness has been amazing. My animals have always received great care and they are always SUPER up front about pricing and put a lot of decision making power to the owners. I’ve always felt my vet takes time with us/isn’t rushing in and out of appts, and answers questions and will ask follow ups to observations we make and then gives options. An example: I did notice our cat drinking more water, I mentioned that in her annual exam and the vet did say that could be thyroid/kidney or UTI related, so she offered a blood and urine test and told me the price. I asked her if that’s what she would recommend and she said because of the cats age that she would. I got a call back less than 24 hours later that she tested positive for a UTI and that meds would be ready within a couple of hours and also they noticed low white blood cell count, which could mean nothing and just be how she always is but told me if I hadn’t done an FIV or leukemia test before that it might not be a bad idea. They didn’t order the test until after they shared the price and I confirmed. They also called me mid surgery when our dog was getting spayed because they noticed a lot of scar tissue and they wanted to make sure she hadn’t had the surgery already prior to us adopting her, and then informed us that it could have been from blunt trauma as a puppy. They were also MUCH less expensive for our cat’s teeth cleaning than anywhere else that quoted me, not saying that cost is everything but it was a vastly different quote than I got at 2 other practices. Very communicative and clearly invested in the wellbeing of our animals. Would recommend to anyone looking for great care in the Seattle area! It’s also so much better now with parking available right in front, but still on a busy road so do be careful when loading/unloading your loved ones 🥰
