I took my dog here for yearly check up and shots. A day or 2 later, he began limping. Returned to the vet to have him checked, took blood work for Lyme. Even though the test came back negative, they stated he might still have Lyme and gave medicine. Once I left the office, I called a previous Vet and asked for a second opinion. Unfortunately, our dog had bone cancer and not Lyme disease. We wasted money on medicine for an ailment he didn’t have and no follow up was ever done by Raccoon Valley.

As a local Pet Hospital, Raccoon Valley Animal Hospital aims to provide essential veterinary care for the community. While specific details about the hospital's environment and facilities are not explicitly available online, it is common for such establishments to maintain a clean and comfortable setting for both pets and their owners. Typically, a pet hospital would include examination rooms for consultations and treatments, a reception area for check-in and waiting, and potentially areas for housing recovering animals or performing surgical procedures. The focus is generally on creating a safe and stress-free environment to facilitate effective medical care.
The services offered at a Pet Hospital like Raccoon Valley Animal Hospital typically encompass a broad spectrum of preventative and diagnostic care. Based on the information available and standard practices in the veterinary field, these services would likely include routine check-ups and vaccinations to maintain your pet's health and prevent common diseases. Vaccinations are crucial for protecting pets against potentially serious and contagious illnesses. Regular check-ups allow the veterinarian to monitor your pet's overall health, detect any early signs of illness, and provide guidance on nutrition and preventative care.
Diagnostic services are also a vital component of veterinary care. These can include blood work, as mentioned in one of the customer reviews, which helps in assessing various aspects of a pet's health, such as organ function and the presence of infections. Other potential diagnostic tools available at a Pet Hospital might include X-rays or other imaging techniques to visualize internal structures, and laboratory tests for analyzing samples like urine or feces. These tools are essential for accurately diagnosing illnesses and developing appropriate treatment plans.
In addition to preventative and diagnostic care, Raccoon Valley Animal Hospital likely offers treatment for various medical conditions and injuries. This could range from prescribing medications to performing minor surgical procedures. The availability of specific surgical services would depend on the hospital's facilities and the expertise of the veterinary staff. It is advisable to contact the hospital directly to inquire about the specific treatments they offer.
One of the customer reviews mentions the ease and speed of picking up medications, indicating that Raccoon Valley Animal Hospital also operates as a point of sale for pet-related goods, specifically prescription medications. This is a common service offered by Pet Hospitals, allowing pet owners to conveniently obtain necessary medications for their animals directly from their veterinarian.
However, it is important to consider all available information when evaluating a veterinary service. One of the provided customer reviews expresses significant dissatisfaction with the diagnostic process for their dog's condition. The review states that despite a negative Lyme disease test, the hospital suggested treatment for Lyme, while a second opinion revealed the dog had bone cancer. This experience highlights the importance of thorough diagnostics and the potential for misdiagnosis. It also underscores the value of seeking second opinions in complex or uncertain medical situations.
It is crucial to note that this single negative review should be considered alongside the positive mention of fast and easy medication pick-up. While one customer experienced a serious diagnostic error, another found the service efficient for their needs. This suggests that, like any service provider, experiences at Raccoon Valley Animal Hospital can vary.
Features of a typical Pet Hospital often include a team of qualified veterinary professionals, including veterinarians and veterinary technicians, who are dedicated to animal care. The presence of modern medical equipment and adherence to hygiene and safety protocols are also important features. While specific details about the team and equipment at Raccoon Valley Animal Hospital are not provided in the given information, these are generally expected in a professional veterinary setting.
Promotional information is not available in the provided text. Typically, a Pet Hospital might promote its services through local advertising, online presence (if they have a website or social media), or special offers for new clients or specific services. To learn about any current promotions or specific features of Raccoon Valley Animal Hospital, it is recommended to contact them directly via phone or visit their location.
In conclusion, Raccoon Valley Animal Hospital, led by Dr. Mccafferty Tara DVM in Mullica Hill, NJ, operates as a local Pet Hospital providing veterinary care services.
