On Sunday, November 15, I went to central vets Mineola with my dog, James and my husband. We are newly dog parents and know very little about dogs. The staff was extremely knowledgeable and helpful towards us. We had a million and half questions and they kindly answered all our questions. They even gave us many options for our dog, which was very appreciated. I would highly recommend making an appointment with the Mineola office. I am so grateful for all they have done for James so far and I am looking forward to more vet visits.

Premier Veterinary Medical Group - Mineola Introduce

For pet owners in Mineola, New York, Premier Veterinary Medical Group - Mineola, located at 220 E Jericho Turnpike, presents a "Pet Hospital" option with distinctly contrasting customer feedback. One review from new dog parents expresses a highly positive initial experience, praising the staff's extensive knowledge, helpfulness in answering numerous questions, and the provision of multiple options for their pet's care. This positive encounter led them to recommend the Mineola office and express gratitude for the care received, with anticipation for future visits. However, a starkly different experience is recounted by another pet owner who brought their 10-year-old senior dog in for an emergency on a Sunday night due to a red and swollen eye and nosebleeds. This reviewer describes a concerning lack of immediate attention upon arrival, with only the receptionist present initially. They report a significant delay before a veterinarian, Joseph Azagrar, arrived, whose primary concern allegedly seemed to be about whether the client would opt for X-rays by him or their regular vet. This reviewer felt that the veterinarian showed a lack of concern for the dog's active bleeding, dismissed it as not necessarily a medical emergency, and ultimately provided a negative and costly experience, leading them to strongly advise against taking pets there for emergencies and declaring it their first and last visit. These conflicting accounts necessitate a careful examination of the potential environment, services, and features based on these divergent experiences.

The environment of Premier Veterinary Medical Group - Mineola appears to present a contrast depending on the nature of the visit. For routine or non-emergency situations, the initial positive review suggests a welcoming and informative environment where staff are knowledgeable and helpful, particularly for new pet owners seeking guidance. The willingness to answer numerous questions and provide options indicates a patient and supportive atmosphere for general inquiries. However, the negative emergency experience paints a picture of a potentially understaffed or inadequately prepared facility for urgent situations, especially on a Sunday night. The delay in a veterinarian's arrival and the perceived lack of urgency in addressing a visibly ailing pet suggest a system that may not prioritize immediate emergency care effectively. The contrast between a "very nice" receptionist and a seemingly detached veterinarian further contributes to an inconsistent perception of the clinic's environment, particularly during critical times.

The services offered at Premier Veterinary Medical Group - Mineola should, as a "Pet Hospital," encompass a range of veterinary medical care. The positive review from the new dog parents implies that they offer consultations, guidance on pet care, and potentially various treatment options. The fact that the second reviewer sought emergency care indicates that the clinic advertises or is perceived as providing such services. However, the negative outcome of that emergency visit raises serious concerns about the actual quality and responsiveness of their emergency care, particularly during off-peak hours. Routine wellness exams, vaccinations, and other general veterinary services are likely offered, given that a client mentioned having a regular veterinarian, implying that Premier Veterinary Medical Group could be an alternative or specialist provider. The mention of X-rays suggests diagnostic imaging capabilities. However, the focus of the emergency veterinarian on procedural choices over immediate assessment and care is a significant point of criticism. The discrepancy in the perceived quality of service between routine inquiries and emergency situations is a critical factor to consider.

Several key features emerge from the customer feedback, highlighting both potential strengths and significant weaknesses of Premier Veterinary Medical Group - Mineola. A potential strength, based on one review, is the knowledgeable and helpful staff who are willing to educate new pet owners and provide various options for care. This suggests a commitment to client education and a patient-centered approach in non-emergency situations. However, a major and alarming weakness is the reported inadequacy of emergency care, characterized by delays in a veterinarian's attention, a perceived lack of concern for a pet in distress, and a focus on procedural decisions over immediate medical assessment. The limited staffing on a Sunday night, with only a receptionist initially present, could be a contributing factor to this issue. The high cost incurred for what the reviewer felt was inadequate emergency care is another negative feature. The contrast between the positive routine interaction and the severely negative emergency experience indicates a lack of consistency in service quality and a potential failure in their emergency protocols or staffing.

The customer experiences shared present a starkly divided view of Premier Veterinary Medical Group - Mineola. The positive initial experience of new pet owners suggests that the clinic may be well-suited for routine inquiries and providing guidance on basic pet care. The staff's knowledge and willingness to help in such situations are commendable. However, the severely negative emergency experience raises significant red flags about the clinic's ability to handle urgent medical situations effectively, particularly during less busy times. The perceived lack of empathy and urgency from the emergency veterinarian, coupled with the high cost for seemingly inadequate care, could deter pet owners seeking reliable emergency services. The fact that the reviewer felt they would have been better off waiting for their regular veterinarian highlights a critical failure in meeting the needs of a pet in distress. This inconsistency in service quality, especially concerning emergency care, is a major point of concern for potential clients.

The provided reviews do not mention any specific promotional offers or loyalty programs at Premier Veterinary Medical Group - Mineola. Veterinary practices sometimes offer discounts for new clients, seasonal promotions, or wellness plans. However, given the serious concerns raised about emergency care and the inconsistency in service quality, potential clients would likely prioritize the reliability and competence of the veterinary care over any potential discounts. It would be advisable for pet owners considering this clinic, especially for emergency needs, to inquire specifically about their emergency protocols, staffing levels during different hours, and the qualifications and approach of their emergency veterinarians. Addressing the significant issues raised in the negative review should be a priority for the clinic's management to ensure the safety and well-being of all patients.

In conclusion, Premier Veterinary Medical Group - Mineola in Mineola, New York, presents a mixed picture as a "Pet Hospital." While some clients, particularly new pet owners with routine inquiries, report knowledgeable and helpful staff, a concerning emergency experience indicates potential inadequacies in their handling of urgent medical situations, especially during off-peak hours. The perceived lack of concern from the emergency veterinarian and the high cost for seemingly inadequate care are significant red flags. Potential clients should carefully consider these contrasting experiences, especially if seeking a reliable option for emergency veterinary services in the Mineola area.

I took my senior dog of 10 years old there as an emergency on a Sunday night because one of her eyes was red and swollen and she was bleeding from her nose. Upon my arrival, I realized no one besides the receptionist was present (she was very nice), until about 30/45 minutes Joseph Azagrar arrived. All he was worried about was whether I was going to chose to get x-rays by him or my dogs regular veterinarian. He had no care in the world that she was presently bleeding and "didn't think it was a medical emergency". DO NOT take your loved pets there for a medical emergency. I could have saved myself the $285 and took my babygirl to her regular veterinarian the following morning. He was the worst experience I've encountered as for someone who specializes in the care for our loved pets meanwhile blood was present. I do NOT recommend their care. MY FIRST AND LAST EXPERIENCE THERE!!!

My boyfriend and I got a dog and the place we got him from said they have a contract with CVA and we could bring him there. We came for a check up for him and they were amazing, so attentive and kind. I’ve had dogs all my life but my boyfriend is very new at being a doggy dad, he asked a lot of questions and they were so good about answering them. The vet Dr. Liss was so nice and attentive she said she has Labradors of her own and she pretty much told us what to expect with our dog Cooper. They are so sweet and nice here the receptionist is so sweet and kind all the way up to the vet. I love coming here and thank you for everything in regards to Cooper he loves seeing the ladies there. I cannot say enough good things about this place or the people that work there!!

Clean convenient great staff. Really worked well for my blue doberman. They also have a trainer on the site though not affiliated with the vet they are well acclaimed. Glad I found this place my old veterinarian was beyond excellent but this place is 24 hrs and quite excellent as well.

Honestly these people are so unwelcoming. this nurse delivered such a strange vibe as if my husband and I had no knowledge on our pet and not only that they seemed to have pushed us into paying for the vaccinations all in one shot they gave my dog a vaccinations and I had forgotten to ask a question as she was taking another patient.. she apologize to the other women because I asked a quick question these people are so rude and I am never coming here again. Bases on my experience I would not recommend this vet to anyone.
