I’ve brought my dog in for their vaccination clinic at the Joliet location. As former vet tech, it was one of the most organized (and clean) vax clinic I’ve attended. Front desk staff is so warm and kind. I’ve been going to a vet in Aurora and it’s a hike. My pup needed to have her leg looked and the Lockport location had availability, reasonable prices, and once again great staff. Zuri loves the treats and the gentle hands. I’ll be bringing my other dog there when she needs shots :)

Jan 10, 2025 · Jenna KoernerI’m very disappointed in my visit to this vet. I brought my dog here twice. The issue was my dog was lethargic and not eating. He hasn’t been pooping either. On the first visit, the vet told me it was maybe allergies and change his grain free food. They plucked his ears and extracted his anal glands. They sold me some topical cream as his inner thigh was a bit irritated. This visit cost $350. The second visit, i went back the next day. My dog showed no signs of improvement from the prior visit. During this time they did an x ray, blood work, gave him some stomach settling meds along with appetite meds, and they sold me the same meds to take him. This visit cost $600. Note they said they were going to send me the x rays the same day but failed to do so. Fast forward another 1 day and $900 later, I noticed still no improvement. I took my dog to the VCA in Aurora. Turns out he had an intestinal blockage and required surgery. Thank god I took him to the hospital on Sunday or he would have likely died. Animals cannot talk. This place didn’t go through the process of elimination to diagnose intestinal blockage. I didn’t think it was because he never had a history of eating toys but I guess there’s a first for anything. This place was offering all these other fixes that had no relation to the cause of my dogs illness. It’s like fixing the radio of a wrecked car. The triage process was completely unreliable. I felt they were too busy pushing meds as opposed to finding a diagnosis. I got sold on these auxiliary services that did absolutely nothing to alleviate my dog’s condition. I can’t recommend this place. The only bright side is my dog survived. Vets should be trained in diagnosis issues. This is especially the case for animals. Dogs can’t tell you where it hurts. It’s up to the vet to help identify the root cause. In my case, I felt I was being upsold on services as opposed to treating the true underlying condition.
Mar 25, 2025 · Paul HuynhJust went there today after being referred to them because they have some of the lowest prices. My cat has been struggling with GI issues for MONTHS. She went to 3 different vets who all didn't know and couldn't confidently give me a good answer. Took her here today and met with the blonde lady doctor. I forgot her name but she was so professional, welcoming, and knowledgeable. We have an exploratory surgery set and although we don't 100% know what is going on, I was given the most confident answer with the best explanation I could get. I've met many vets who are hard to read and understand. But this vet truly cares and it is so heartwarming having someone who also cares about my cat like I do. The tech's name was T and they were super friendly, did a great job at asking questions and explaining things. Loved everything about this place. I am nervous but I am anticipating hearing what the vet finds during my girls surgery.
Jul 29, 2024 · Leah HurthI cannot say enough amazing things about this vet office and all of their staff! Their prices are more affordable than any vet that I’ve brought my three fur babies too. They take such good care of my dogs and they actually listen to my concerns and do what’s in the best interest of my dogs. They answer any and all questions, and they are so easy to get a hold of and their responses are quick. I’m so glad that they opened an office in Lockport and I will never go to any other vet office again. We’ve finally found our perfect vets!
Jun 26, 2024 · Trish TaborI just recently got a puppy a few days ago and have been looking for a reliable vet and gave Premier Paws a try. This is my first ever puppy so I really wanted to find a vet I can trust. Today, me and my puppy visited Dr. Palafox. She didn’t seem interested during the visit at all and the visit itself was very rushed. As a new puppy owner, I had many questions. After asking questions, they felt so dismissive and unanswered. Of course puppies need vaccines, but it seemed like the main focus of this visit was the vaccines and that’s all. I felt as if the vet tech was more interested than the veterinarian herself. I’m a lost of words and so very confused because I left with many questions. My puppy received the rabies vaccine - a certificate was given. On my way home, I noticed on the certificate it stated my puppy was 70lbs, but he was actually about 18lbs. I called and explained; the front desk told me they’d fix it and email me a new copy. I received an empty email… with no document or anything attached. I then email back stating I received a blank email… can I please get my official certificate? I’m also confused as to why no paperwork etc was given? No new puppy information? No follow up? All I left with was a receipt and certificate. Unfortunately, I will not be coming back. So unprofessional and unorganized. I gave it a chance and I really wish it worked out but it didn’t.
