The attention to detail and care this facility provides to animals is incomparable to others. My horse was boarded and received round the clock care for over a week - with veterinarian exams daily. Round recommend to anyone questioning their horse's health and needing a second or third opinion. I'm also impressed with the reasonable cost of care. Most people gaff at the cost of medical care for pets, but in reality it is minimal compared to any procedure done on a human - using similar drugs, anesthesia, and surgical procedures.

Customer reviews for Piper Equine Hospital present a mixed picture, with contrasting experiences regarding the quality of care and services provided.

One reviewer expressed high satisfaction with the hospital's attention to detail and care, particularly during a prolonged boarding period. They praised the round-the-clock care, daily veterinarian exams, and reasonable cost of treatment. They recommend the hospital for second or third opinions on equine health.

However, another reviewer strongly advised against using the hospital for pre-purchase exams (PPEs). They described a negative experience with Dr. Ernst, citing a significant delay in starting the exam and an excessively long examination period, which they considered cruel to the horse. They also raised concerns about a potentially traumatic incident during radiographs and a misdiagnosis from an internal medicine specialist, which they perceived as unnecessary and harmful.

The reviewer expressed concern that the excessive exam length caused their horse trauma, and they expressed concern that there was a strong desire to find a problem where there was none. Despite the sale going through, the reviewer felt the experience was traumatic and advised others to seek alternative providers for PPEs.

These reviews suggest that Piper Equine Hospital may provide excellent care for boarded animals requiring intensive treatment, but there are significant concerns regarding the quality and approach of their pre-purchase exams.

Potential clients should carefully consider these contrasting experiences and inquire about the hospital's specific protocols and expertise, especially regarding pre-purchase examinations. Inquiries should include the veterinarians' qualifications, the hospital's facilities and equipment, and their approach to diagnostic procedures.

Due to the mixed reviews, it is essential to contact them directly for accurate and current information regarding their services. If you require a pre-purchase exam, it would be wise to seek additional opinions.

Would not advise using this veterinary clinic for prepurchase exams. The provider, Dr Ernst, was an hour late starting the exam. The exam then proceeded for 5 additional hours, which was actually cruel and unusual punishment for a horse to withstand that kind of intense scrutiny for so long. In fact, something happened during radiographs that left my perfect angel of a horse kicking at his new owners in the crossites. He left that examination extremely traumatized. This is not all that went wrong with the PPE. An internal medicine specialist was consulted and proceeded to raise hysteria by diagnosing my horse with an illness without taking any history from his owner and misinterpreting blood test results. I do not understand why they felt determined to find an illness, perhaps they did not feel that they were doing their job if they couldn't find anything wrong. Fortunately the sale went through fine and the horse has a wonderful new home but it was an extremely traumatic experience for everyone involved. Please look elsewhere for pre-purchase examinations, there are wonderful other choices out there.
